  1. wow i'm really glad i ordered those immediately on first release...now i think if i i never opened them i could sell them for what is that like $600 each? haha
  2. Wait so ~$100 shipped? thats still a great price! if you mean $100 plus 5000 yen....i'd rather just buy from bbts.
  3. wow you're fast EXO. haha. let me know how it works out! i'll probably order some asap if they do work out fine.
  4. Exo I was able to order some of these and give it a try. A few first impressions. 1. The Strong white flexible material from shapeways seems to be very powdery. The white powder flakes off and that will effect the tightness/looseness. 2. I think it could be a tiny bit tighter on there. 3. That hinged joint (and keep in mind I've only built one of the action bases so far) is pretty weak. I can really only have it in a couple different positions before it wants to fold over. I'm not sure how you managed all the dynamic poses on the previous page (although i see that is a different design but theoretically the new ones should cause less moment/torque on that joint). 4. Its pretty cool to see the valk flying that high above the desk ( i bought the clear stands and can stretch out the main arm of the action base pretty far). 5. AND THIS IS THE BIG ONE - Do you think it makes sense to design a few different fixed angle "collar" type things to put over the hinged joint (bracing it from the outside) so it doesn't want to fold over. To be honest my super packed Vf-1J (Sorry millia!) tumbled onto my desk a few times while i was trying to see what could work and what wouldn't. OR, do you think its a good idea to design an adapter that removes the screw hinged joint altogether? Granted this second option would limiit the stand to one angle only. What are your thoughts EXO? Anyone else have different impressions they'd like to share?
  5. funny, i did get in on the order "in time" (the last time they were available) and i never got them when they came in to HLJ. They must have oversold preorders last time. Guess my order will be coming in December. This happen to anyone else?
  6. HECK YES!!! wish they released this first....wouldnt' hav needed the alto one (now that i have it....its sweet but still i really wanted this one). also the cannon fodder didn't have the super pack (in the anime)?
  7. dang seem to have missed it! guess i'll see if they are back online later. anyoen have the direct link though?

    DX VF-25G

out for delivery!!!! yay! just missed getting it delivered on 30th anniversary of sdfm by a day. lol. On a side note....Someone REALLY REALLY needs to recast the arm part of the stand in clear plastic. I like the functionality of the stand but hate that it looks lik ea big black stick up the gerwalks crotch. Can someone get on that? :-) i've been wanting a clear version since the V1 days. the flightpose stands are great but not that stable as they loosen over time with usage.

    DX VF-25G

so this is out? i ordered mine from a local store but they get theirs a aweek or two later than these onlne guys. guess i'll have it ina few weeks? any word or fast packs for this guy yet in terms of release dates or perorders?
  10. i had that revell kit too (i think it was a rebranding of the imai kits from asia?) we (my brother and i ) had the orbot and axoid kits (and also a jetfire), but i really watnd teh wexar kit because that was roy fokkers ride to me. i havea feelign these 1:72 kits is where yamato got its start in terms of inspiration for the original 1/60 line. come to thnk of it we also had the nebo kit based on orguss.
  11. ugh liked teh old scheme better...makes this easy to cancel i guess. was abotu to pay too much for them anyway. if i ever have remorse there is always ebay.
  12. super awesome poses on that 1D and super 1S. Among the best I've seen in display. I can't even get poses like that with my yamato might blocks. in fact i relegated them to fighter stands and had to tighten them (nail polish method) so that they wouldn't rotate and slam the valks onto the floor of the display. lol. So you can imagine, im aslo super curious how you managed wit those stands...are they bent up hangers? how'd you attach it?
  13. so is this pretty much impossible to get now? anyone know where a late comer to this might get his hands on one?
  14. best news in a while. will be getting 2-3 sets of the fast packs/option parts bundle at least. never "needed" the VE-1 but it does look nice....hmmm
  15. yeah i really wish they reissued them. i was able to score 3 sets around the time they first came out (maybe a few months after) for around $25-30 each (sale!!) before shipping. Also a year to year and a half back (january 2011?) one store (hlj i think?) suddenly had a restock on them for a brief window and i managed to score two of those for about $40 each plus shipping. i should have bought like 4-5 at least. lol because since then, bingo luck finding these for anything reasonable. people have been forking over $200 for $30 msrp accessories. i can't see why yamato has been rereleasing all these dyrl and tv valks recently and hasn't issued another rerelease. i'd like a couple more at least.
  16. eh we should stop guessing and making excuses about what drives the cost of the valk....we have not idea on their cost structure. Engineering hours are relatively cheap. costs structures could have changed just changing materials factories ...anythinig really. Selling price is not necessarily related (in fact they usually aren't) to cost. They charge what they want because they've determined that a the optimal selling price to hit their profit targets. end of story. As Yamato's reputation has gotten better, their prices increased - simply put, they charge what they do because they can. Same with any product and company.
  17. wow pretty nice price by current standards and also a US vendor! if i didn't already have 1 too many of these (yes i need to unload 1 but been lazy about it), hop in on this.
  18. yeah it really is one of the best color schemes to date. i think its currently among my top 5 favorite valks! we'll see how long that appeal lasts. right now....its definitely the "new hotness". haha.
  19. i'd be in for 2 sets if this happens.
  20. is that TFC Hercules and a Maketoys Yellow Giant in the back? Do 3rd party TF toys sell in normal everyday toy stores in HK?
  21. wow looks great guys... just got a shipping charge payment request from tokyo hunter so i'll have these relatively soon. keep the photos coming guys!
  22. heh...i got my transformers jetfire when i was 8 years old. He'll love a 1/55 bandai (they are essentially the same except the jetfire used the nose of i think the elintseeker or some other special valk but its a vf-1s all the way otherwise..its just got a rounded nose). My jetifre still is in functional shape at my parents house although all the stickers are peeling off and i've broken some of the armor attachemnt pieces over the childhood play years...its absolutely the best valk for him at that age.
