  1. What's with this game, really? BTW, I finally unlocked the "dispatch missions" ability. Good thing I pretty much Fulton'ed every single soldier in Angels Without Wings (mission 10), and got a few rank A combatants and a Tough Guy specialist. And with a fully-upgraded Fulton device, I can now take on missions 7 and 8 with ease. Apparently, the best way to deal with these missions is to just Fulton the tanks away instead of trying to destroy them.
  2. 36100 yen? Too rich for my blood. I'll stick with the Kotobukiya kit, even though odds are I'll never get around to building it anyway.
  3. Many thanks for the tips, guys. I used the supply drop method, and landed my first S rank mission. Just have to trudge on until mission 14 to unlock her as a buddy.
  4. After a bit of counting, I'm surprised by how many Yammie V2 VF-1's I own--about 11. Basically, I bought about every TV series VF-1 variant Yamato produced, except for the cannon fodder and DYRL ones--I did get the DYRL VF-1S Hikaru, though. Just a drop in the bucket compared to most others people's collections, but I didn't realize I had that many Valks.
  5. A transforming metal gear model kit? I gotta get me one of those. Truth is, I couldn't decide on whether to get this or the Rex kit, and procrastinated on the matter until the Rex kit was discontinued at hlj. But since Sahelanthropus essentially "transforms" into the Rex anyway (or something close enough), I guess I'll be getting more bang for my buck with this.
  6. Question: do I get to just turn off the PS4 for a week, and come back to find out she died of old age waiting for me? Seriously though, do I need to use only non-lethal weapons, or does the game throw in a cutscene of her losing once I've inflicted enough damage? BTW, I absolutely love the 80's music. Not exactly practical while on missions (it drowns out the sounds of nearby soldiers you haven't tagged), but it's great when you're free-roaming, setting traps and looking for animals to tranq. Speaking of which, those f**king bears took at least a whole mag of tranq darts to put to sleep. Nice! I really liked the first TR reboot game on PS3, with all the survival stuff and gritty backgrounds.
  7. Believe it or not, I still haven't progressed enough story-wise to see DD mature into D-Dog, but I've basically destroyed all of the Soviet bases' (except the power plant) antennas , radars and power generators while doing side missions! Speaking of Quiet, I got a tape where Kaz warned me about her stalking around the power plant area, in the beginning of a side mission to steal a blueprint. I called for a helicopter pickup to return to Mother Base, as I wanted to be sure I knew exactly what to do to capture her alive. Any tips for that?
  8. I just unlocked the ability to build medical bays n MGSV, and did just that. Walked into the sick bay and.... That aside, I'm getting utterly addicted to the gameplay and side missions.
  9. I haven't even unlocked the ability to build medical platforms yet, but I'll give it a try once it's built. With open-world games, I have a habit of dicking around doing side missions and whatnot, so I haven't progressed enough to unlock much. DD's still a pup, and I've only completed the Honey Bee mission. At the rate I'm going, I'll probably have completed all side missions before I'm even halfway through the main missions. I like how disabling comms and electrical equipment, and Fulton extracting artillery permanently robs a facility of it's equipment.
  10. Finally found some time to play MGS V TPP. In a way, I wish I hadn't, because that led me to start digging up the stories for Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes (neither of which I played) to help TPP's plot make more sense. Not sure if this is considered a spoiler, since it's all from Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes, but just in case: That aside, the gameplay was excellent, and for me at least, the whole CQC/subduing/holdup thing actually works well enough for me to try using it. I've been playing MGS games since Sons of Liberty, but hated the CQC game mechanics due to how easily alerted the enemy AI was. I dunno, maybe I just sucked at CQC until now. Either way, this time I actually enjoyed using CQC and interrogating enemy soldiers. The Fulton system made hiding enemies a cinch--plus, you also get to build up your army. The best thing is that getting alerts or killing (within reason) doesn't necessarily ruin your rank.
  11. Great work on the TIE fighter, Derex! Looks deceptively large for a 1/72 scale kit.
  12. That's some seriously good mech designs there, DarrinG! 505, love the classic anime artwork!
  13. As far as Gunpla, I only give them a matte coat from a spray can to get rid of the plastic sheen. I find most Gunpla to be accurate enough color-wise that they don't really need any paint other than minor detailing and panel-lining. Kits from other franchises are a totally different story, though. Most Border Break kits have parts that have unsightly seams that need to be filled and sanded, and this in turn necessitates a complete paint job.
  14. I should have logged in earlier to check for replies. You're absolutely right, the best thing to do is to watch the ending on youtube...because it was hardly worth the effort. Anyways, I finally toughed it out and got that damn trophy (pressing L2 gave me a level view of Batman gliding and somehow helped me keep a straighter line), and spent the rest of the day completing all side missions. The so-called "true ending" was quite underwhelming. I expected all loose ends to be tied up and the fates of the key characters more drawn out and explained in greater detail--it's supposed to be the last Arkham game, after all. It was fun and a pretty infuriating challenge (mostly the Riddler challenges and militia tank battles), but I have to say it deserved a much better ending. The DLC's, as short as they were, were pretty fun though. Wouldn't recommend them unless they're free, as both combined took a mere 20 minutes to finish.
  15. Been trying to get 100% on Arkham Knight for the so-called true ending, and this last Riddler trophy is really pissing me off. It's the one where you start at the back of the GCPD and race to some really high pillar in Founder's Island. Could never do it fast enough on the Batmobile. I tried super-ejecting (fully upgraded) and gliding across the water over the Lady of Gotham statue, but the gliding is so damn slow that it's just as bad as using the Batmobile, if not slower. I nearly got there in time once while gliding, but fumbled in a panic, and dropped off the top of the pillar as I was trying to grab the trophy. Haven't been able to get there fast enough again after that one time. If anyone has any tips and advice on how to get this damn trophy, I'd really appreciate it.
  16. I guess I'll have to go through more of the main story and get that second upgrade for the 60mm cannon first. I've already maxed out the targeting speed, it being able to kill most tanks with one shot will help tremendously. And thanks for the heads up on which tank to hack. It can get confusing identifying which tank is what in the heat of battle, but I'll target the 3-missile tank as soon as I see one. BTW, I just stumbled onto something interesting; the EMP's sometimes also cause those annoying helicopters to crash.
  17. Many thanks for the advice, Mike! Yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble with the "roadside explosive device" things--the "extreme level" ones, at least. Those levels had f**king helicopter drones that take too much time to aim and hit before a few tanks draw a bead on you. And it's damn near impossible to avoid getting hit when they all target at you at the same time. I've only just gotten the EMP upgrade for the Batmobile, and one upgrade for the 6mm cannon (still takes 2 shots to kill those tanks that fire 3 missiles at a time). The Batmobile's armor is fully upgraded, but not quite enough to see me through the last wave of tanks. As for the disruptor, some upgrades for it are still locked, probably due to story progression (currently at 73%). I'll wait until the upgrade for the large sentry guns is unlocked before taking on those.
  18. Any tips on the last explosive device (besides git gud )? Got my ass handed to me 6 times in a row and decided to come back later.
  19. I just noticed that there are no rear surround channels for Arkham Knight. Actually, "environmental sounds" still output through the rear speakers, but the dialogue or other audio sources don't. During game play, I'd talk to an NPC, and when I turn around to face away from him, I still hear him on the front center channel speaker instead of the rear speakers. The dialogue still tracks from left, center to right, but the rear channels don't work. There's nothing wrong with my home theater system, as the rear speakers still outputs "environmental sounds", and deliver full 5.1 surround on other games and movies. Thankfully, 5.1 surround isn't really necessary in this game, unlike FPS's, where identifying enemy noises is essential to avoid flanking maneuvers. That aside, I'm enjoying every second of the game. The Batmobile segments can get pretty hectic, but it's mostly an awesome addition.
  20. LOL, I thought that old 80's AV receiver looked familiar! But yeah, why'd he get banned? I remember he used to get into trouble with the mods for having that doll of his in any and every pic he posted, but it doesn't seem like that would be the reason.
  21. It's kind of sad that while Malaysia is far better off in terms of development than Vietnam or Cambodia, our internet is lagging so far behind them that it's not even funny. Exactly.
  22. "Developing country", enough said. Wireless broadband is way slower than fiber optics, but it's much more common here. And if I was using dial-up, it'd take 6 f**king days instead of hours. This is the reason why they're still making physical discs available. Unless you're living in a first world country like the US or Canada, internet speed and/or availability isn't nearly good enough for downloading HD movies or complete current gen games. Also, most ISP's have a habit of "throttling" your broadband speed if you're downloading big files, making things even worse for those using low to mid-range internet plans. Sad, but true.
  23. Finally took a step into the 21st century, and opened a PSN account. I bought the limited edition Arkham Knight game, thinking the extra Harley Quinn mission they advertized on the box was pre-installed in the disc, and that I only needed to go online and enter a code to unlock it. Turns out, it was a 1.2GB download. And so, I spent over 6 hours downloading the 3.5GB day 1 patch in order to be able to use DLC's, and another 3 downloading the Harley mission. There's some other stuff like weapons upgrades, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow.
