  1. Ah, the wonders of toy canibalism. I gotta say you did a great job, though; I would never have suspected the gauntlets were made from another figure.
  2. Nice, Doc! Question about the gauntlets; 3d printed or scratch-built? Not bad, but I never did like the new faceplate with the panel lines under the eyes. Not sure what to make of the scifi club, though. Pre-ordered the Iron Man 2 diecast War Machine instead. To date, it's still my favorite WM design.
  3. This multi-part series thing for the FF7 Remake could be a deal breaker for me. The whole thing they got going with FF-13 1/2/3 never sat well with me. And anyone remember Xenosaga? They originally planned for 6 parts, and hastily wrapped it up in 3 due to staff quitting or being transferred (if memory serves). A story series being suddenly cut short inevitably leads to narrative problems, and when you're dealing with a series that can take years to finish, something's got to give somewhere down the line. What worries me the most is that they didn't even say how many parts there are going to be. Could be 3 parts, or it could be 10. And I don't want to be waiting for years just to complete the whole story. Yakuza 5 puts a smile on my face though. Can't wait to pickup a copy!
  4. Yeah, it was just padding. The good news is that it's all optional. If you play enough random missions and listen to all the yellow-marked tapes, the story missions will eventually unlock by themselves. And for the love of Kojima KEEP THE BUTTERFLY EMBLEM ON!
  5. Gosh, I wish you hadn't told me that; now I'll start noticing all the aim-blurring issues and low frame rates the next time I play RE6. BTW, there's a secret ending? I never knew. Gonna try unlocking all the "skills" and see it that does the trick.
  6. Well, there's always Akihisa Yoshii's patented "panko diet" from Baka Test. Seriously though, the Stan Lee fig's basically the Destroid of the Hot Toys Marvel line; the one you'd swear you'll buy when you have the spare cash. But every time you do, you have something "better" to get.
  7. I want one, but sadly my funds are already maxed out with the MK. IX and Pepper Pots set. The question now is, is Mr. Lee worthy starting on a 3 month long ramen diet.
  8. Well, I'm not an RE aficionado, but I loved RE6 too. It had 4 playable story lines and 7 playable characters, and each has it's own flavor and specialized weapons. Sure, it's not the same kind of horror survival game that started it all, but I find the shooting mechanics give it a lot more replayability.
  9. You know this was bound to happen sooner or later. I mean, he's had a cameo in just about every Marvel movie so far....

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

As long as it's not as hard to find as Bandai's previous DX Valks, I'm certainly grabbing one.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Loving the fighter and GERWALK design, although the battroid's kind of derivative of the MF Valk designs. On the other hand, it's a natural design evolution in the context of the fiction. I just hope this thing doesn't do a song and dance number in the anime. ...damn, I think I might have jinxed it just by mentioning that.
  12. Not sure if it's the design or the color scheme, or both, but it looks a little too ornate for my tastes. EDIT: meant the SV-262, not the Draken.
  13. I still hunting for a good quality mp3 of the post-movie series's ending theme. For some reason, I just can't get enough of it--just kept rewinding the ending credits to listen to it.
  14. I did. I played the Truth mission, and listened to all the tapes, even the non yellow marked ones.
  15. I finished the game last week, and I have to say it feels utterly incomplete, story-wise. Never mind the so-called missing mission 51, there was absolutely no build-up to the final revelation at all--I suspect all the missions that were supposed to lead up to it were replaced with recycled missions. Seriously, I'd rather they ended it all with the events of Chapter One. At least that was a fully contained story arc in itself. It's really a shame, because this is by far my favorite MGS game in terms of gameplay. BTW For now, I'll continue to enjoy going on missions with Quiet. Hell, I'm tempted to use her humming as my new ringtone.
  16. Oh, the inappropriate jokes I could make with that quote Seriously though, I agree. On a whim, I rewatched the 80's animated movie, and I could still watch it all the way through to the end. I can't stomach Shia's whining and nonononnonono's beyond the first viewing.
  17. The same thing the Geewuner TF fans wanted when the live-action TF movies were announced--frame-by-frame, 80's cartoon accurate fanwank.
  18. Awesome work, Mustang! I especially like what you did with the YF-19. It looks super-realistic, just like that pic from Tenjin Hidetaka's artbook.
  19. Many thanks, Dapro! I wonder why they went with rubber in the first place. I guess it's still a toss-up between the MK. IX and the AoU MK 45--I really like the MK. IX's design, but the MK 45 seems like a safer bet with possibly more poseable elbows.
  20. Hey Dapro, how are the rubber elbows on the MK. VII? I'm thinking of pre-ordering the MK.IX, but anything by Hot Toys that uses rubber as a material makes me nervous.
  21. Yamato 1/60 V2 YF-19. I've been yearning for a decent representation of Isamu's Valk ever since watching the anime during my college days. The moment my local hobby store opened pre-orders for it way back when, I was the first in line to place a deposit for it.
  22. TBH, DD becomes more useful as the game progresses, as more soldiers will start wearing heavy armor that are impervious to tranq darts--unless you equip her with a Brennan, she's pretty much useless against those. At that point, DD's stun attack and gas grenades become your best friends. I've been tying out the rocket arm, and I only managed to take out 2 guards in one shot just once. It was pretty fun to use, though. Either way, Quiet sometimes causes the whole base to panic, even when using a suppressed tranq rifle, making it harder to you to sneak around for CQC takedowns. She's also not particularly good in places with a lot of buildings, especially Sakhra Ee. BTW, great tip for mission 40!
  23. Still a better fate than that prick deserves. Specifically, the Huey side op at the Afghanistan Central Base and side op 150 where you have to extract Quiet. Both lead to missions that you're probably not prepared for, especially side op 150. Oh, and I can now confirm that you CAN indeed keep Quiet as a buddy, at the expense of not seeing her "ending". Just keep her butterfly emblem on and side op 150/mission 45 will NOT unlock. Keep doing missions and random side ops and eventually the final mission (46) will unlock, giving you access to the game's ending. Sure, you'll miss out on her ending, but there's always youtube. But damn, even just watching the youtube clip of the cutscene was heart-rending.
  24. Just played through Shining Lights, Even in Death. Damn, that mission was hard to go through--and I don't mean the difficulty. Did a few more side ops since then, and Ever since completing Shining Lights, my staff have been fighting a lot. Is this normal? They never did anything like that up until now, and I had a ton of Troublemakers in each facility--aren't they supposed to cancel each other out? I'll keep doing a few more side ops and wait for EDIT: Huey's cutscene is not unlocking. I did all the yellow-marked side ops and main missions, and listened to all the cassettes. The only yellow-marked mission I haven't done is the dispatch mission that uses the Battle Gear. The odds of winning were only at 67%, so I held off on it. Do I need to complete this in order for the Huey cutscene to unlock? For that matter, do I have to win the mission, too? Never mind, I just unlocked it after playing a few side ops. Also decided I couldn't let Quiet go, and simply watched her ending cutscene on youtube. Will not be playing mission 45 or side op 150.
