  1. Got a few new things in, I got the import version of Figuarts Dr. Strange, but the US Bluefin release of Deadshot. I always loved Brawn in Transformers G1, I think he got the most screen time for a mini bot besides Bee and Cliffjumper. I missed out on BadCube Brawny's first run, thankfully they just put out a second release so I was able to finally get on board the Masterpiece Brawn train! I love this little guy! I think BadCube nailed him, I also have their MP Gears and he's fantastic! BadCube is nailing these MP mini bots, they're a lot of fun to transform, and I think they look perfect in with my nearly complete MP Season 1 crew. I just need an MP Cliffjumper and Huff and I'm good, thankfully BadCube is delivering on Huff and I may give X-Transbots a shot with their upcoming MP Cliffjumper, I have their MP Windcharger though and he's a bit crap.
  2. Probably not helping, but get Phoenix/Skyfire, he is probably figure of the year for me so far, he's brilliant. He also appears to be disappearing fairly quick around the web, I'd grab him now in case FT decides they're done with him and stop releasing more. I also have to put my opinion in for FT Dinos if you're looking for some nice Dinobots, I've got the whole set of 5 and they are top shelf pieces for me. For MP, I prefer them to Giga in pretty much every way, not that the Giga Dinos are bad mind you, I've handled three of them at different friend's houses and they are solid, well painted toys, I just hate the aesthetic personally. I don't like the faces at all, and I hate the huge, stung by a bee, super beefy G1 toy look. FT pretty much nailed the current TT MP aesthetic, and toon aesthetic overall in my opinion. If you're not looking for MP necessarily there's plenty of other options out there for chug too, I've also handled the FOC inspired Planet X Dinos and they are beautiful little figures as well. I was especially blown away by Planet X Grimlock, fantastic figure, put the official TT/Hasbro Voyager or whatever version to shame.
  3. Got a new little haul in from HLJ. Figuarts Bale Bats is quite incredible, I really like this figure, blows my old garbage Mafex version out of the water. Excellent sculpt, good articulation, and finally, a wired, cloth cape! The new Figma Link DX is fantastic, huge improvement over the old Skyward Sword one, and yes, Zelda is kind of nice too, limited articulation though due to her dress, awkward to stand too. Snagged a re-issue of the old Figuarts Gohan for $15, the knees look awful no matter how you slice it, and the ankles are pretty terrible, but for that price, I'll bite. G-Fighter is nice as well, like a half dozen different modes for it when combined with the RX-78 ANIME Gundam, I love this line!
  4. Bale Bats looks pretty fantastic, definitely glad I grabbed one along with a PO for Ledger Joker. I had the Mafex versions before, and without trying to sound like a broken record, they were both utter garbage. Strange looks good too, but it's a bummer he missed out on Bandai's change of heart for cloth goods capes, he appears to have the same crappy plastic cape design as Figuarts AOU Thor. Also, I'm kind of baffled out how fast this reviewer gets Bandai TWE stuff in. He's in the US, and yet he's already got Strange and Padme, both of mine are still on the way and are set to be delivered later this week.
  5. While I don't own any and personally never would because they don't hit the nostalgia button for me, I'd definitely agree the chunky monkeys are tops for handling and play. I own a ton of Hi-Metal R, and I guess you'd have to define your term for "playable". Do you mean pick and and mess with yourself or kids? I pick up and mess with my Hi-Metal R constantly and I've had zero issues or breaks, that said I wouldn't let kids have at them. On the flip side I've handled several of my buddies old 1/55 chunkies and I'm pretty positive that if I really wanted to I could kill a person with one of those things, they are absurdly solid transforming mecha toys. It sounds like Hi-Metal R would work best for you, to start cheap, I'd pick up one of the newer Hi-Metal R TV VF-1J Hikaru valks, cheap, no real frills, but it will give you a taste of what Hi-Metal R is and stands for, great little toys, very articulated, tight, well made, and fairly detailed for the scale.

This is an easy pass for me, I hate Mac II and its designs. Good news for everyone that likes it though, Bandai will save the day and erase the memory of that rather shoddy Evo version in no time! Surprised this is getting released as early as it is, I would've thought, with Mac II being more niche and less popular, we would see the VF-4 or a VF-0 before this, which I personally would have liked because I would actually buy those, but oh well, Mac II fans can get their fix now.
  7. And once again I'm incredibly glad I didn't bother with Mafex, their Batfleck tempted me, but once again, I heard too many mixed reviews. Oh well, it looks like Bandai will, do the League Justice? I'll see myself out.
  8. My younger cousin drove down from UNR to visit the family, he wanted to go to the Fashion Show Mall, which is packed and I hate, but on we went. If I'm gonna battle traffic getting there and idiots while I'm there I'm definitely going to check my favorite stores, which means I HAVE to hit the Lego Store. Saw this absolute beast of a set sitting on the shelf and I had to have it, most expensive impulse buy in quite a while but it looks insane. Third largest Lego set ever made, and I love Ghostbusters to death, it's retiring next year and then it will be impossible to find for less then a small boat, so yeah, I had to bite.
  9. I find it a bit sad that all these years later that PS2 Spider-Man 2 game is still the gold standard every new Spider-Man game is held too, that game was just that good. I don't think any one game since then has gotten as much right as that game did. Also, floaty is the word I'd use too. It looks like he has a few extra little moves that allow him to boost forward quickly, but the overall swinging does look very slow.
  10. I know this is still early footage, but this looks disappointing. I get it, the Arkham style combat is great, and it can be applied to nearly anything, but it's becoming a bit lazy at this point. Also, that's a LOT of QTEs. I'm not feeling this anywhere near as much as when it was announced. I feel Microsoft and Sony both had their weakest E3 showings in years. New game announcements were few and far between, lots of footage of last years reveals, actual release dates for some things, but then there were also several things announced last year that made no appearances this year. Personally, I think Ubisoft did excellent this year, AC needed a break and the new one looks great, the AC4 Black Flag style pirate game looks nuts, and Far Cry 5 looks like fun. No Last of Us 2, FFVII remake (which at this point I KNOW will be a disappointment), no new Kojima Death Stranding non-sense. I think Nintendo did pretty well too, the Switch is looking more awesome by the day. I may get an Xbox One X just because my X1 is what I do the majority of my gaming on, Sea of Thieves and the new AC will be fun on that.
  11. VERY happy right now, came home to this absolute holy grail, the Chogokin GX-72 Megazord! Once again, I waited for the US Bluefin release, I really wanted my US packaging like with Voltron.
  12. No Figma Zelda? She's really nice too, I got her and DX Link Saturday, Figma really has come a long way since the old Skyward Sword Link figure. Night and day difference really, sculpt, articulation, everything is better.
  13. I still hate the face to death, Sunsurge still has him beat there, but I'll deal, pre-ordered at HLJ. Easy pass on MP-12+, I see few differences between the original release, and the changes I do see I don't like very much at all.
  14. Got a bunch of goodies in! Easily one of the biggest boxes I've received from BBTS. Got Anakin and my Spartans from NY too, third haul in a row where I got two packages in a day, good stuff. I needed a Masterpiece Reflector in my life so FansToys Spotter delivered, beautiful little figures, they ooze personality, I love these little evil goofballs.
  15. Friday the 13th The Game came out today! Don't know if anyone knows or cares. Feels fairly unpolished and glitchy, but I backed it years ago and I've been waiting to get a wack at it so I'm excited to finally play it. I've been dying for a game like this for a while, and yes, I know several games like Dead by Daylight came out first and attempted to capitalize on the formula before the real deal F13 popped up, but I never bothered with those. I only got to play two matches before work but somehow I got to play Jason on my first try! Pretty fun stuff, very intense, but once again, fairly buggy. The ground work is there for an amazing game, and as is, I think it's still pretty damn fun. I can't wait to play more after work. Since I backed it I also got exclusive counselor clothing items and the Tom Savini Jason skin!
  16. His scans were leaked a while ago, confirmed web exclusive but oh well. The other thing the leaked scans showed was that he is getting a US Bluefin release bundled with another Hall of Armor, I'm waiting on that. The price is always comparable to Japanese retail for one Figuarts Armor, and one Figuarts Hall piece anyway, so the bundles just work out better in my opinion, that is if you want a Hall to go with it. Does AE or NY offer DHL? Being a web exclusive those and US Bluefin will be the only ones carrying this guy. and I don't know if either offers DHL.

DHL shipping is nuts, from Japan to my door two days total, and cheaper then EMS! No kinds of fees either, though honestly I've never received a request for any kind of import fees for any other shipping method before. Got my Spartans in and they are looking good, stellar toys. The paints apps are great and there's a lot of little tiny details, very beautiful work throughout. I'm loving these guys, they're great, my only minor gripe is the ankle rocker, it's honestly pretty weak. Other then that these things are nicely articulated throughout, very well thought out joints, and metal in all the right places. I'm impressed yet again, and how long has it been since a complete Spartan figure has been made? This line is a beautiful thing, I really want my 3 Defenders. At this point, without trying to gloat, I think I've got the second biggest Hi-Metal collection on MW, behind sh9000 of course. 1 DYRL Hikaru 1S, 1 Hikaru 1J, 1 DYRL Hikaru 1A, 1 DYRL Kakizaki 1A, 1 DYRL Max 1A, 2 DYRL That Guy 1J, 6 brownies, 2 DYRL Roy 1S with supers, 1 Roy 1S original hi-metal line, 1 Hikaru 1J original hi-metal line, 2 sets of M&Ms, 12 Regults, 3 Spartans, 2 Monsters, 2 Glaugs, 3 super parts, and 2 missile sets. edit: Stupid me, I didn't look at the instructions before putting my dirty mitts on these guys. The ankles pull down, revealing WAY more ankle rocker and articulation overall.
  18. The more time I've had to look at the photos, including the hi-res ones accompanying the interview with the designer on TFW2005, the more I realize I absolutely hate the head sculpt on TT Streaker. It's bad. Like unapologetically bad, it's easily the worst face/head sculpt TT has done. I'm a bit baffled by it, because once again, the thing I thought TT always nailed, inarguably moreso then any third party, is the face/head sculpts. But not here, I feel Sunsurge has him beaten in spades on that regard. I'm warming up to the alt mode a bit more, two modes is cool, and a neat way to get the okay from Lambo, I saw that he also includes his hidden rear end gun in alt mode. Definitely lots of bells and whistles included, but damn, that face/head is so bad it hurts.
  19. Might be time to replace my BC Sunsurge, but I really need some alt/vehicle mode pics first. The bot mode looks nicer, but Sunsurge has a stunning alt/vehicle mode. edit: Also a fake chest? I could have sworn people crap on the BC Sunsurge because of his fake chest, claiming TT could do better, and yet here we are, fake chest as well. I'm pretty bummed about certain things on this guy, the head looks really odd, worse then the 3P options somehow, which is odd because I thought the one thing TT always nailed was head sculpts. Also, the yellow spoiler is nasty. I'm just laughing at how similar he is to my BC Sunsurge, I mean, he's more toon accurate, but overall, he really doesn't look that much different. I may actually save a few bucks and pass, he just doesn't look that much better or superior.

Got my shipping notice from AmiAmi this morning, good stuff. They switched me from EMS to their new DHL shipping, I don't know what that is, but it's apparently comparable to EMS in speed and quality, and cost me a bit less, so I'll take it. Seems absurdly fast though, I got my notice this morning and it says scheduled for delivery 5/24? Two days? I mean once again, I'll take it, that just seems way too fast. Faster shipping and it's costing me less? That all works for me. I'd maybe try contacting them next time this happens, I've thrown tons of money and orders at them over the years and that has never been the case with a single tracking number from them.
  21. Absolutely NO MORE plastic capes, they can't go back now, everything needs to be cloth. Every plastic cape on a Figuarts figure has been a mess, Vader, Thor, both of those figures will desperately be needing updates with proper cloth capes. The ONLY thing I regard Mafex for is using cloth on their figures for capes and what-not. But Mafex overall is horrible, so now their single positive factor is being implemented by Bandai Figuarts, making Mafex nearly obsolete!
  22. Are you talking about the Hot Toys figure above, or something pertaining to Homecoming's story? Did you see Civil War? As others have said, that's Pete's old home made Spidey suit, he got a fancy one in Civil War but as azrael mentioned, he gets it taken away in Homecoming and has to return to his home made suit.
  23. Looks like someone at Toyark got their hands on Figuarts Dark Knight Batman early. http://news.toyark.com/2017/05/19/s-h-figuarts-dark-knight-batman-early-hand-first-look-253148#images That looks really good! My Mafex copy was pretty much complete garbage, so I have high hopes for Bandai to nail this guy. Plus there was already shots of a proto-type Dark Knight Batpod, and with that, I'm sure there's a proto-type Figuarts Tumbler sitting around somewhere too...
