    Hi-Metal R

I just got payment request from HLJ for my armored 1J, plus Figuarts Thor, Darth Maul, and a couple of other goodies. I can't wait, I'm excited to get it in hand, I'm selling my Arcadia 1J now because I'm going all in on the Hi-Metal line instead.
  2. Are these still available anywhere? I only ask because I've decided to sell my 1J Hikaru, he doesn't have the GBP because I already sold it, so it's just the valk, instructions, valk stickers, box, and all of his hands and little side cover doo-dads. I'm not even sure what I'd ask for him, transformed him once, he's perfect, nice and tight, I just decided to go all in on the Hi-Metal R line instead, I don't want a random 1/60 sitting around collecting dust.
  3. Broken legs, scratched paint, bent head lasers, and non-accurate we're not even trying paint jobs? Arcadia has given me plenty of reasons to not waste a dime on even a 0S, which I was really thinking about getting. There's zero chance I'm gambling on a figure this expensive, they're pricing compared to quality is absurd.
  4. Very helpful, thank you sir. I locked down and paid for Kylo and a First Order Trooper. Unfortunately it seems most sites have a limit of 1, I need two, so I'm going to have to make another order somewhere else anyway.
  5. So I've been spying around for a pre-order for some of the Episode VII Figuarts, it appears Anime Export has them, but I've never ordered from them, any thoughts anyone? Reliable? Also, kind of weird as far as pre-orders go, I locked my stuff down, but apparently I only have two days to pay for it? So they're almost like CD Japan, they like payment up front. One thing I'm wondering, it says if I don't pay within 48 hours they cancel the order, does that lock me out from their site or my account, or could I just pre-order what I want again after their little deadline, then pay for it? I'm literally waiting for the funds to clear now, but I won't make it in time to pay by their deadline, and I don't want to be locked out of yet another pre-order for these guys. Also, if you pre-order, do you just have to pay for the items to lock them down, or does AE make you pay for shipping too? That would seem like a bit much, seeing as how the figures I'm looking into aren't even out yet. Also lastly, how long does HLJ give you to make payments again? And what happens if you don't or can't make payment, they don't lock you out of your account do they? This money clearing thing with Paypal almost always screws me.
  6. I'm also feeling a lot of this, Mad Max released on literally the same exact day as one of the most sought after, long awaited, detailed, and expensive open world games in history. it's really crappy timing, had it released a few months back when we were in a bit of a gaming dry wave, I think people would be singing a slightly different tune. The open world game fatigue it very real at this point, it just sucks that poor Max seems to have dropped at the most inopportune time.
  7. Meh, I'm not trying to push any kind of ant-critic anything, most critics and professional reviewers are fairly on point with their thoughts and criticisms on most games, what's irking me is why Mad Max in particular is getting outed as a bad game when we get annual releases and other over-hyped garbage that nearly by default always get high 8s and 9s for reviews. That's my main problem, no Mad Max didn't re-invent the wheel, neither has 90% of the other releases in the past several years, and yet they're free from low review scores, and now we finally get a badass Mad Max game, and it's getting slammed, we now may never get another, I don't think that's fair, at all. I can safely tell you, if you're just going to keep checking professional reviews for the game, don't, don't waste your time, they won't tell you anything you haven't already heard. A decent number Mad Max's mechanics are obviously borrowed from the Arkham series, like Shadow of Mordor, and yet Mad Max is better than Mordor in my opinion. Mordor became too easy barely half way through the game, and the Nemesis system didn't even get to shine until over half way through the main campaign, then it was just a neat Nemsis system, with Batman combat in a Lord of the Rings setting, and yet, once again, nobody seemed to want to flame it for that. Witcher 3, which I absolutely loved, didn't re-invent the wheel, it was a solid open world game with some great stroylines, but the gameplay devolved into go hear, Wticher sense, fight something, return to quest giver. And yet, Witcher 3 may be GOTY. I really don't care what you or other people buy, but this random bias towards Mad Max is unsettling to me, where is this invisible line that separates apparent mediocrity from major AAA hyped to all hell series that seem to get a pass? And yet here we are, another year, another COD, Battlefield, Assassins' Creed, what will those games score? Will we actually see anyone give lower scores to these games for being more of the same? Doubtful, really, really doubtful. I can admit some bias on this subject, I've been a huge fan of the Mad Max franchise since I was a child, and here we are with a shiny new open world Mad Max game, which is fun as all hell, well made, and engaging, and yet it's being, in my opinion still, unfairly blasted in reviews. It's a shame, few other games attempt at car combat, Mad Max nails it, and yet that isn't included into a interesting or distinguishing feature, did Mordor have cars? Batman finally did, and look at how mixed that reception was. I'm not saying look to just reviews by nobody neck-beard hipsters who are trying to push Mad Max instead of, say, Metal Gear, just to be the cool guy, I'm just trying to say that I feel the game is far better and more engaging then most critics are letting on. I still cant help but feel too many of them are in the mind set or,"meh, it's not Metal Gear." It's not, and I'll admit it's not as polished, but it's still a damn fine game. And I've got to ask, what's worse, random nobodies apparently pushing mediocrity, or major critics? It seems professionals push mediocrity when it suits them, or when it's expected, as opposed to when they should. I just don't feel the game is mediocre, I've played far worse titles in the last year or two that I felt were far more deserving of the scores and criticisms Max is receiving. If you're interested in it at all, I'd recommend redboxing it and try it out, you've got nothing to lose but the small cost a rental, and you may be surprised by what you play, that aside, if you're looking to get it for PC several sites still have codes for it for as low as $20, that aint bad at all.
  8. The problem is the user reviews are fairly high across the board, the PC port is apparently quite excellent too, it's getting a lot of love on Steam. I don't take any of these "professional" reviewers seriously with this game in particular, it happens every once in a while, it happened with Alien Isolation last I remember. The games just isn't big enough, and I stand by my point, it's not called Metal Gear. Hell I'd argue a lot of these negative reviews, from smaller nobodies heard of you sites to the big ones, are just going with the crowd and not giving this game the review it deserves, nearly every one of them I've read complains about what the game isn't and what it doesn't do compared to what it is and does accomplish. The Mad Max elements are all there, this is a Mad Max game through and through, I don't know what more anyone would want or expect, it is literally this year's Shadow of Mordor, and that's a good thing. I just personally can't take most "professional" reviews seriously these days when it comes to these smaller games, especially when I know these sames sites will give annual garbage like Black Ops III, which is just more Call of Duty but with even more Titanfalli in it now, an 8.5-9.5/10. In general, what I'm saying is like other smaller titles, I'd go by user reviews on this one, the game is competent, violent, beautiful, and most importantly, very fun.
  9. I got Mad Max and MGSV on the same day, I haven't even cracked Metal Gear open yet, Mad Max is just too much fun. I'm a little baffled by the reviews for it, it seems a lot of reviewers are bitching about little things that every other game seems to get away with, Polygon probably has the currently worst and most misleading review for the game, the guy they got to review that sounds like an idiot. Yes, Max can carry an unlimited amount of car scraps in his pocket, big deal, that actually garnered a lower score? How come in GTAV I can carry a small militia's worth of firearms and explosives and nobody bats an eye? I think most people's issues with the Mad Max game is that it's not called Metal Gear. Like I said, I'm having fun with it, and I have zero intention of getting into Metal Gear until I'm done with Mad Max, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of the franchise, or a fan of fairly massive open world games with lots to do, upgrade, and customize.
  10. Yea I saw this about a week ago, I wasn't too sure about it at first, but now I'm feeling it could be real. You can kind of make out what looks like Iron Man flying around just below him, plus this seems to line up with what Marvel has been saying about a very basic home-made Spider suit at first for Peter, who knows though, in the world of comic book movies and shows, I've been duped by good Photoshopped images before. Edit: Nevermind, like I thought I had already read when I first saw this image, it's been confirmed as a fake.
  11. Meh, that doesn't mean much to me, as far as toys go, I used Hot Toys as an example because they too offer super expensive "high quality" figures, transformable or not. Arcadia's pricing has gone beyond most other crazy expensive companies pricing, beyond Hot Toys, 3A, TP Transformers. I get that it's a more niche series, and Arcadia is a small company, I feel I covered that in my yada, yada, yada, but once again, my point still stands, they're stuff has gotten too expensive, especially considering what they are putting out now, this color situation is absurd, are we to continue to give them so much slack on their merchandise because it's niche and they're a small company? I don't think that's right, they're charging beyond premium pricing at this point, and I'm just not seeing the quality or attention to detail anymore. I really don't care either way, they're damaging themselves at this point, their only market is the most die-hard and financially sound collectors out there. I get that their products are made in limited quantities and they're a tiny company compared to what Yamato was and Bandai is, I'm pretty sure everyone on this site gets that without explanation, but I still stand by my statement, too expensive for what we're getting and seeing.
  12. That 0A is ugly, if the blue is indeed on the legs then that's just...bad. I never intended to get a 0A, Shin or cannon fodder, or whatever they're calling it, so I honestly don't have many horses in that race. That said, I did want a new 0S, but Arcadia's current pricing just, isn't working out for me, which is weird, because I thought the armored 1J was quite reasonable for what I got, I get that that was just a VF-1, which has been pretty much perfected for awhile, but still, they're really driving away casual valk collectors, if that's a thing. I don't do Bandai's stuff, I hate Frontier and Plus's mecha, so Arcadia is the only company putting out valks I'm even slightly interested in, but they're pricing is getting out of hand, small company yada yada yada and I get that, but it's just becoming too much at this point. I shudder at the thought of a new SV-51, I wouldn't be surprised at a $400+ dollar price tag, and yet, I'm sure many people will somehow buy multiples. The molds they are putting out look great no doubt, but it's beyond Hot Toys pricing, and at that point, to me, it's gotten absurd.
  13. They're comic book based films, they're not going to engaging, the comic books they are based on aren't very engaging either, they're entertaining, and the films adapted from them are too, mission accomplished in my opinion. This is the first major connected cinematic comic universe, there are tons of stories and characters to introduce, of course they're going to keep pumping them out.
  14. Yea I saw the news of an RE2 remake the other day, pretty interesting, I'd like to know how they're going to go about it, will it be like the REmake? If that's the case I'm on board, Remake was the single best Resident Evil game ever made, if it's in that style, cleaned up and prettier but with the updated tank controls of the newer 360/PS3/PS4/X1 version, and classic fixed cameras, then I'm definitely in. I guess this is all we can expect from Capcom now though, remakes of older games that were amazing as opposed to making actual new games that are amazing.
  15. I guess I should have specified, while what we saw at Comic Con is his new suit for the majority of season 2, he apparently gets a brand new one at the end of the season. From what I'm reading that Comic Con suit is essentially the season 1 suit, but with the updated white symbol, apparently the buffer lighter one is from later in the season, since it's filming now little bits here and there are starting to pop up. Edit: Hopefully I'm not looking too much into that awesome looking buffer suit, I still see design bits of the old one in it, I saw that Comic Con image and several others when CW put out the promotional pics of the new suit a while back. I'm trying to find the article I was on, but yea, it seems the image I posted was possibly a bit of a spoiler, Barry is supposedly getting the much more badass suit towards the end of the season.
  16. So a triple post may be a bit much, but the news is pouring in, and I think this is quite relevant. Barry's new suit looks awesome, I can't wait for it to debut, plus, and it's just a tiny thing, but for me it's huge, DAT WHITE CHEST SYMBOL THOUGH.
  17. Also, how cool is this? I remember before The Flash started airing it was touted as being the most dedicated comic book based TV show to date, after a stellar first season, I accept that.
  18. OH YES! In fact, OH HELL YES! Matt Ryan returns to TV as Constantine, on Arrow, the crossover is actually happening! http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/08/11/constantine-officially-set-to-appear-on-arrow?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20%28front%20page%29&utm_content=4&utm_campaign=Blogroll And now, my day is much better.
  19. That seems incredibly shady, especially for BandaiOnline, thanks to your story I've made the easy decision of never using them in the future. Once again, shitty situation, but at least you finally got them. On a side note, I'm super pumped, Luke Skywalker is officially on the way today.
  20. Yea I liked True Detective season 2 quite a bit, like the first season it was slow to start, but ended on a bang, and there were some damn good performances all around, Vince Vaughn needs a couple of nominations at the least.
  21. Damn this got shitty fast, didn't you buy from BandaiOnline? How did this happen, did you get stuck with SAL or were you able to choose another shipping option? I've seen this happen before, all too many times unfortunately, but it was always an issue with SAL shipping, that particular method is the one that seems to attract non-sense and BS, and delays, and your situation, stuff randomly sitting for several days then it gets shipped back to it's origin. Is there anyone you can contact about a refund, or even just ask some basic questions, like where's my crap? Pretty crap situation, I'm sorry for you, what's a guy gotta do to get some Figuarts Avengers members?
  22. I'll just be getting the Figuarts, the Figma faces are far too doofy looking, I'm pretty sure any Bruce fan would know exactly what each company was going for without explanation. I think it's a damn shame both companies went for nearly the same look, and even many of the same accessories, like others said, yellow jumpsuit would have been nice, hell I'd even take a plain white shirt Bruce.
  23. You might need to see some new pics then, the Figma looks beyond terrible in my opinion. Like I said, Figma should stick to anime girls, they just can't handle realistic faces in any form, my Figma Snake is probably my biggest disspointment of the year so far, which is strange, because my Figma Iron Man DX or whatever had a really solid looking Tony face in my opinion. I can't even really agree on the Figuarts having more obvious joints, to every point people try to bring up about the Figuart, I look at the Figmas arm pit area, which I think is far more egregious then anything on the Figuart. And the hair? Figuarts and Figma are both representing Bruce's hair decently, he's had both looks before.
