Some misguided optimism and a dash of Fool's Hope should get us by for at least another year....

Not sure what part of manufacturing you work in, but apparently it has not given you any special insight into it. I am not surprised you are getting butt-hurt.

Nope, happen to own a Valkyrie Factory item.....I just have no sympathy for them or any other KO outfit for "losing out" on sales during covid or any other time.... Again, you are just speaking out of your arse...if you had any comprehension ability, you would have understood that "as close to 100% profit as you can get" does not mean 100% profit...duh! But...but...Arcadia and all legit licensees also have the same, if not higher, production costs in addition to all the process and associated costs that goes before they even get to that point....again....you fail to see the fact that the bootlegger just has to concern themselves with the making and shipping part of the entire process.....not sure how to make that any clearer for you....in the bootleg scenario...the profit will be purely incumbered only by production/shipping costs and perhaps some marketing..... nah....costs are up because they are making way less of them now than ever before.....and that in itself does not help them if they also have to lose out any potential sales from bootlegs.... I have no "Hate-on" for "grey market" items.....I just don't feel bad if they lose any "profits"...However, I do feel bad for legit licensees if their sales are hurt by KOs....there has been no proof that 3P would care to produce Macross in the absence of companies like Arcadia or Bandai......you can probably count all 3P Macross releases in one hand...

Yeah....based on the last pic showing a KC fig inside the KL 1/12 cockpit...it seems it would not fit...at least not without major mods...torso is too long, removing the legs at the knees would not help either...it would still look good next to it or maybe climbing into the cockpit....maybe you can suggest to them to include a ladder accessory

Again.....the bit about the cost of production, via labor was alluded to at the end of my initial post....where am I "deluding" myself about any other company's more generous wages? yep, no where...... You totally are just pulling that one out of your arse......the bottomline is that the major costs in developing the Yamato/Arcadia VF-1 were already incurred by Yamato/Arcadia, thus the profits are immediately gained since they are just skipping all that and going right into just producing them and getting them to market.....not sure how else you could try and spin that...the KO team is skipping development, licensing and to some extent marketing and going straight to just manufacturing and selling.....how can that not be as close to 100% profit as you can get? Again, I am not absolving any other producer from not taking advantage of cheap Chinese labor, that was never the point.....I'm just saying there should be no tears lost for Valkyrie Factory for "losing out" on profits that they do not deserve in the first place

New Harry Potter series Via HBO Max.

This is way more than I ever wanted to know about the Harry Potter franchise...was never a huge fan to begin with...but now, just a little bit less so...lol -
Of course, which is why I mentioned "sweat shop wages"...perhaps it was too subtle for you?.....but you obviously missed the point.....their "profit margin" is completely based on not having had fronted any of the real costs of getting these toys produced in the first place......sorry, but why would anyone have any sympathy for whatever "hurt" they may be feeling these days...covid or not....especially since their profits have been ill-gotten from the start

I like Macross but by no means would I consider myself an "anime" fan.... -

And these were originally marketed as kids books? -
Are you getting either? I would like to get the 1/12 VF-1S since I already have a 1/6 VF-1J Hikaru......but knowing that I could use my 1/12 KC figures with it would help in rationalizing the purchase... I still think their 1/6 Hikaru "figure" was a massive fail in terms of what they had originally teased....

Have to figure out a way to keep the masses coming back to Orlando's Universal Studios! -
Why is Kong so huge? Is there enough food on his island to keep him alive? Come to think of it, same goes for the other ridiculously large monsters. I suppose Godzilla can eat up Earth's supply of sea food for a few years.... To be honest, I never cared for any of the awful Japanese Godzilla movies or reboots...these new movies have not changed my opinion. That Kong Skull Island movie put me to sleep.....tried to get through it recently using my free HBO Max subscription, which just ran out over the weekend... HBO Max, can't say I'll miss you but....

Recommendations for Macross Manga for someone learning Japanese
jvmacross replied to vsim's topic in Collectors
Yes, the "film comics" basically would be a direct conversion of the dialogue heard from each of the 36 episodes of the the actual TV show....the novels are more of a condensed re-telling of the events from all 36 episodes...with very little illustrated content. I would say the "comics" would probably be easier to read, based on the intended audience. -
The price is higher because the listing you are referring to is being fulfilled by Amazon...not sold by Amazon....

Agreed....@sh9000 has been able to nail several iconic Macross imagery lately....I have been "borrowing" them to compose some mixed media shots....I did one for this image too when he initially posted it....again, great job @sh9000...keep them coming!
