  5. Nice! Is there a specific episode? If so, let me know and I can add it here too.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44562-the-sdfm-35th-anniversary-pictorial-celebration-through-diorama-and-photoshop/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-1565069
  6. Thank you sirs!
  7. Updating first post with some of the suggestions/ideas submitted so far... How long should the thread stay open after PO night? What makes sense or what have we seen with other PO nights? Essentially, it would makes sense to keep it open to capture related PO info like links to late-comer retailer links, etc....
  8. Nice pic... I actually stopped collecting Star Wars in any serious amounts years ago...but every now and then I do grab a few things....but usually not toys.... I do, however, have several items I have never opened and last weekend I actually dug out an old Star Wars 12" of Jango Fett.....had it for years and was feeling nostalgic after watching Episode II...it was a cool set that had all his armor and weapons off of the figure and you had to play "dress up" with it...lol The sculpt on his face was actually pretty good considering how bad most of the other Kenner/Hasbro "Collector Series" figures are... I also have a 12" Boba Fett from the same line that looks pretty cool....I think I may go ahead and open that one next!
  9. You passed the Macross nerd check! Congrats!
  10. Well....you said you were a problem solver....maybe you just unknowingly revealed the real reason why no one can find sheit on the site....we all suck at spelling!!
  11. You must be one of them "psychotic problem solvers"... Too bad you went and solved the first problem, I was really looking forward to hearing back from "Sean"!
  12. That is happening already.....that would be an unfair complaint for this new thread......the abundance of pic threads is a whole other issue.....again, without mod involvement, it just slides into a free-for-all.... But, yeah....pics of the DX VF-1D would be fine here......again, it is up to the mods or a general consensus as to what type of pics should go into which thread.....however, the point is that by keeping toys separated into their own thread....they do not balloon into 700+ page beasts...even with all the pics....but at least you would know where to find purely DX VF-1D pics!
  13. It depends....since it still has not been released and the PO is technically still open....that would be something that we can all come to a consensus about.....Personally, I think prior to Release date...it will be OK to post availability links here, since eventually the plan would be to close the PO night thread after a few weeks of a Macross product's initial PO night...if that happens, then that thread will not be available to post sale links on, so we can either use the dedicated toy thread or use the existing "item of interest" threads......I think once it is released, it would be best to post directly onto the "item of interest" threads..... So... Pre-release...post links to item availability on the dedicated toy's thread....or the PO thread while it is open/unlocked... Post-release....post links in the "item of interest" threads Again, this is an evolving experiment.....perhaps there can be a period of a few weeks post-release to post availability links on the toy's dedicated thread....then after the acceptable time window closes...all future sales post would need to be placed into the "item of interest" threads or related "for sale" threads... Thoughts?
  14. It's actually quite simple.....going forward...if you want info on the DX VF-1D....you will simply go to the DX VF-1D thread.....if you want info on the future DX VF-1J Max you will search in that thread......if you want info on the original DX VF-1J, VF-1A Max TV, VF-1S Hikaru, VF-1A DYRL Kakizaki, or VF-1S TV Focker....well, you will be ecstatic because it will not change....you will still have the pleasure to be fooked because you will need to find whatever you are looking for across the 700+ pages of the current DX VF-1 Mega Thread which will eventually die........like most other past releases of any Macross toy or collectible....the threads eventually get fewer and fewer posts because it no longer discusses the latest and greatest release....interest falls and fewer post for it get made....why keep the current DX VF-1 thread going with new releases? Want to see it grow to 1400+ pages? If kept separately, at least you know where to look and have way less pages to go through or perform a search on to find what you may be looking for....if nothing else...it keeps things in order and there is value in that alone...but seriously, regardless of how easy or not a search will be...there is no way to argue that searching across 30-50 pages (check older dedicated Macross product pages, they have never grown to be much larger than 50 pages) will not be better than searching through a 700+ page behemoth....and before anyone suggest to "archive" the current DX VF-1 Mega Thread and start a V 2.0.....why would you eventually want to go through potentially 1400+ pages of info? That method only works for topics like "PIC" threads and random discussion threads like the "What anime are you watching?"....specific Macross toy threads naturally just die and do not balloon to an unusable/unsearchable size....eventually they disappear from memory waiting for years in complete solitude until someone randomly necromances it back from the depths of purgatory for a brief foray with relevance.... This is the way....
  15. Ultimately, nothing will work if it does not get validated by Shawn and/or the mods.....without the needed "street cred" and the "understood" repercussions of going against accepted forum guidelines, written or not, you will always have someone wanting to do the complete opposite and thus derail threads, purposefully or not... As for your specific example on "general" observations....I think, as is mostly done today, such observations seem to be posted regarding the latest and newest releases....but in either case, whatever keeps total page counts down would work in the long run.....for example, let's say Bandai finally decided to "fix" some of the missing markings on the DX....I am not sure what value would be served by needing to reference an old VF-1J post if the observation is that the latest release fixed a past error on all DX VF-1's release so far.....or something along those lines.....we would be making the observation on the latest release because it was missing on all past releases.....essentially it was a known "issue" that has now been addressed.... Trying to think where that may be an issue....perhaps if something that had worked all along on prior releases, suddenly getting Bandai'd on the most recent release? Then there may be a need to go back into another thread to provide evidence of this? But still, it would be the same thing, just reversed...the older releases were known to be fine, but not the newest release, thus all discussion of the newly discovered issue would best kept within the confines of that specific release's thread/topic? I think it is worth coming up with something better than what we have now....I think things were working fine before, but it all changed, starting with the HMR line, when we seemed to have collectively drifted to combing everything into a single product line thread....perhaps we thought it would die quickly so why bother? I sort of feel similarly about the "current" Macross DX VF-1 line...how far can it really go? But still, I do feel separating out releases going forward will be beneficial and will re-establish how we should proceed with any future Macross product release...
  16. If Shawn or the mods are willing to give this experiment a try....it may also be useful to "pin" it...
  17. Another mixed-media recreation made possible by the awesome pics from @sh9000
