No, I am not really that into the non-official releases...I mostly had KO's from the mid-80's and the Joon's but sold them all off years ago. Yes, that clears it up @nightmareB4macross...lol....I was thinking there is no way that thing was legit....but was surprised when it seemed like you were saying it was...... I always defer to facts about KO collecting to @nightmareB4macrossand other KO experts....with that said, I think it is important to be clear about what makes something "legit" or "official"....not that most people with some knowledge would get ripped-off, but it is the new collectors that may fall victim to unscrupulous sellers......I may be alone in this, but using the word "official" for anything but the actual licensed toys sold by the IP holders is problematic....it does not matter if some or part of the toy is "legit".....but, that's just me....I think alot of folks look to this site as a source of facts when dealing with these items.....potential buyers beware I suppose

I remember this trailer....cool use of an iconic 80's song....classic bait and switch.....were there even any 80's songs in the movie? Why even make a big deal calling it WW84? It is ironic that we also recently received the bait and switch treatment with the Rogue Squadron tease......OT X-wing prominently shown only to find out that the movie will take place after the ST......at least they are not playing the long con game with this one...lol

If referring to the "half Strike Box" VF-1S....I would say it definitely had to involve some KO crew to get the box made, at minimum....the others with legit toys but wrong armor are a different matter...those are legit toys with deliberate "QC issues"....
-
It would be hard not to "miss the mark" when you were not providing all the details.....you had not pointed out the the toys actually had Bandai marks on them until now...ultimately, if the whole toy (including the box, etc) is not 100% licensed and packaged by the legit license holder...it is still a KO, no? And just to be specific....the one I was referring to and what I think jenious was referring to originally was this one.....there is no way I can accept this as anything but a KO....I was not referring to the valk toys that come with "jetfire" armor that has already been analyzed as thoroughly as could be....even if the valk toy below is "legit" someone still had to go out of their way to produce the KO box to sell it as a complete "product"....of course, if you just sell the toy without the box, you could get away with saying it was an "original" Bandai...but still, the one pictured below has shoulder stickers that may belong to a jetfire...so back to square one....

Star Wars Rogue Squadron, in theaters TBA

Yeah, it would be a shame if she just used the memory of her deceased father simply to hype-up another Disney Star Wars dumpster fire....- 115 replies

OK, in my definition, official license would also imply that the owner's marks would also be stamped on it.....are you saying that these are also stamped with Bandai marks? If so, then these KO crews were even bolder in the past...lol
-
So it has a BW or HG license? I am not sure why you would consider it an "official" product, please explain.

LMAO...you have way too much time on their hands "bro"! Hostility? I posted a few lines...you posted a manifesto! Whose "nerve" got struck? Here is the joke broken down for even the dumbest to understand......it was a play on the similarity in the spelling of "rogue" and "rouge"....and it would make no sense to post "Rouge Squadron" with a pic of a "Rogue Squadron" pilot looking like his/her "normal" self (guessing "normal" is no longer an acceptable term to use).....sheesh! Even if I had posted it without the pic, I do not think it would have mattered to you....your "nerve" would have been struck regardless based on your apparent disapproval of the "trend" of opinions....but, seriously, if you do not like my posts then simply ignore them or block me....that is the advice usually given out by the mods.....even a simpleton should be able to understand the benefits of that strategy.....- 115 replies

Still available at a limit of 6 per order.... https://p-bandai.jp/cart/?returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Ftamashii.jp%2Fitem_character%2Fmacross_series%2F I think the re-sellers are backing off of this one....thinking the glut of VF-1S Focker's currently collecting dust on AJ and YJA made them think twice.... Which could have an effect on how many actually get made by Bandai....that could lead to a higher price for it in the future if those numbers are pretty low

Will definitely ditch HBO Max before the free week is up....but I will still have a month free of HBO, which is odd.....anyways, already seen everything I wanted on HBO, right now it just seems like a waste of money for either streaming service...wont get interested again until the GoT sequel starts

It seems the 1/72 Vf-1J and VF-1A fighters are showing "in stock" on the Calibre Wings website....has anyone received them? I placed an order via Flying Mule due to their 20% PO discount but they seem to always get their stuff last.... I am glad that I picked up the VF-1S and M&M VF-1J set, they are all excellent display pieces.....wonder if this is the end of the road for canon VF-1's from Calibre Wings?.....I am taking a pass at the original paint schemes they are releasing...

Are you referring to the price of the Hi-Comical VF? Yeah...20 yen discount...LOL Also, note the change between the 1st Bandai catalog entry and the second one for the M&M VF-1J's...
-
yep...the VE/VT prototypes still using the Takatoku "pointy" nose cone mold....
-
I do not have any of the "Matchbox" SD valks...do you? What does their copyright stamps say? Bandai? I would assume that they were also produced for Takatoku by Matsushiro...but maybe not? I always thought it was a shame that the Hi-comicals made it to the "Robotech" line but not the 1/100 VF-1's....guess they looked too much like their 1/55 big brothers, which meant too much like a Hasbro Jetfire.... BTW....proof that the Bandai "Hi-Comical" has Takatoku DNA......it was set for a June 1984 release at 2000 JPY...this comes from the Takatoku Toys Hobby and Toy Volume 2...
-
I'm guessing the non-textured Strike box just coincides with the production/release of the VE/VT-1's, which all have the non-textured boxes....so the final run(s) of the Strike also had the non-textured boxes....so does that mean the VF-1A Hikaru just had one run after the initial Strike run....but none after the VE/VT runs? On a separate but similar note.....my fantasy holy grail would be to find a Takatoku branded Hi-Comical VF-1S....it actually started life as a Takatoku product...but it seems the Hi-Comical toys all got branded as Bandai's at release...at least no Takatoku branded sample has been documented in the wild.... All this talk is making me go check my 1/100 VF-1 toys....the Takatoku/Bandai 1/100 VF-1's are the forgotten PT VF-1 toys of the era

Some other "numbers"..... https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/wonder_woman_1984 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/soul_2020

Yes, we can only say with certainty that during the "DYRL" phase of toys...that the backplate was indeed modified....however, we also have all of the info regarding the changes made for the VT-1 and VE-1 releases, however, it does not seem like those made it onto the runs of the VF-1S and VF-1A DYRL toys from Bandai... Here are some "prototype" pics of the Elint and SuperO found in some of the magazines of the day, as well as from the 1985 second Bandai catalog....note that they seem to still be using the "pointy" nose cone at the time these pics were used for the promotional pics....too bad they did not stick with the Takatoku mold by the time they went into the VT-1 and VE-1 production...
-
Actually, no....we know that at minimum the piece that previously had the "T.T." was re-stamped with the Bandai logo during the original run of the 1/55 VF-1S Strike and VF-1A Hikaru....that definitely did not wait until the 1990 re-release of the TV Super VF-1S.... I actually have both the first batch release of the 1/55 Strike and the later release of the Strike with the "corrected" Bandai logo.... A later release of the Strike 1/55 VF-1S has the corrected Bandai stamp....so at least this particular "part" was all-new
-
it's great that we are finally getting a "DX" VF-1D PT toy after all these decades, but I would still insta-buy an official 1/55 Bandai VF-1D! Incidentally, the VF-1D was in the Takatoku pipeline but the call to make the DYRL 1/55 toys pushed it back...it's ironic that they also never received a "Takatoku" release as well

Yes, but if it was it would have been mine... It was just a fan mod..... https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c870082189
