@peter - Man --- don't sell yourself short! That turned out great! Most Trek kits have to be viewed from a few feet away..Mine do! You did great considering all the roadblocks that gone thrown in your way! Congrats!

Way to go dude!

Regular model cement just ain't gonna cut it man, I know, I have been there plenty of times! CA Glue, 5 min epoxy or I use to have this liquid stuff called Ambroid Pro-Weld, it was amazing, basically it melted the plastic together. I don't think it's made any longer though.

Those Supers doooo look niiice! Can't wait to see them on my 1J!

HLJ is great. Never had a problem with them.

@peter Man, those aztecs are look great! Nice and subtle! Keep going! @Dobber - Honestly, yeh, I use to dread cleanup time, however, since I've been using mostly Tamiya acrylics of late, and more importantly, a gravity fed brush instead of siphon feed, it's much, much, much easier. There are trade offs though, enamels and lacquers lay down a "harder" finish than the acrylics.

@peter Yes...yes you should, however,I've had one since I was about 15, doesn't make me a master at it by any means! As evidence today by my not so straight free handed lines!

The temp was only in the low 90s today and humidity was down around 50%, so I decided to go to the paint bench for round 2-what seemed like 20 for sloooow build up of a light grey and then transitioning on to a very thinned down white tic tac toe pattern all over the Star Destroyer. After 2 hours I stopped. I guess I'm getting there... hard to judge... Not sure if all the work will really be worth it in the end honestly.

I loved this movie in high school! It was almost like you were getting away with something really naughty but you could still rent it at Blockbuster. I still like to watch it if I catch on some channel. The twin Lotus's were so awesome!

That's because IT IS!

I agree with @wm cheng, I think the faint panel lines will add something under the aztecs. I also agree the TS-45 would be the way I would go on old 1701. As far as my .02 on the clear Entgerprise D model, I had one, tried to paint and scrape windows years ago and threw it into a wall and shattered it out of sheer frustration. Now that I am older and somewhat wiser and more experienced, especially with lighting, I have another one in the closet along with all the add on parts, trench covers, resin parts, LED lights etc to try again someday. @Photogirl, welcome to the MW boards! Your SDF-1 looks amazing!

I didn't know any other type of model glue even existed from 1980-2010. When I got back into the hobby and the MW forums, I learned so much! Tamiya liquid cement? WTH is that?!

Get TrekWorks on YouTube to custom build you a 1:350. His name is Boyd and he does amazing work. I have no idea how much he charges, but the 1:350 build he put on YT was the most amazing paint job I've ever seen on an Enterprise!
