That's actually really funny @MechTech, I was just browsing the micromark website yesterday and looked at that very tool and thought hmmm....I might need one of those for PE parts for a certain ship model I have in my future! I could spend a small fortune on that site! -

I built a lot of those back when they came out. I just used regular Tamiya Liquid or Extra Thin Liquid Cement. Never had an issue. They are still perfect to this day in my display cabinets. I never had to use CA glue on them. They are EXTREMELY well designed and manufactured kits. I think most of, if not all the parts were undergated on the sprue trees as well, so take note of that when clipping them off the trees. Highly recommend magnifying glasses to assemble them if you're like me and your eyes aren't what they use to be! I only wish they had made more!!! Really wanted the entire Delta 31 squad in fighter mode! -
Can we please see some pics of this from you guys that are gettting them?!

Hope everyone's is ok and Bandai didn't Bandai everyone on this re-release. I'm REALLY hoping they re-release the Ozma 29. I'd be all over that. Sold all my 29's a couple of years ago and I miss looking at that one!

Got the Cat's Eye pilots painted and into the cockpit. I just picked colors at random. Did my best. resin is hard for me to paint by hand with acrylics... clear cockpit pieces are still a problem. not sure how that's gonna get resolved. Hopefully next weekend I can get the plane repainted though!

Yes I am. As far as the light blocking goes, I had this SEM high build primer from years ago when I unsuccessfully tried the clear Enterprise D. Two coats of this, it dries almost instantly, and light blocking is done! I was going to spray another coat of the RustOLeum gloss black over the primer but I just don't see th need. The pic below is the bottom part held up to a 250watt light buld. No bleed through. Also I HATE waiting for RustOLeum to dry. Takes 40 forevers. Unless one of you guys that does lighting has a reason I'm just gonna go with the black high build primer.

Thanks guys! @electric indigo ohhh...I LOVE that grey paint scheme on the front of the Hind! Always was my favorite helicopter when I was growing up! I use to get wallpapers from airlines.net all the time! Had totally forgotten about that site! EDIT -- Damn you @MechTech!!! Now I want to buy and build the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Fort Worth that's out! I have been watching a lot of Trumpeter ship builds on YT lately, and think I want to branch out and give it a shot! It even comes with the Photoetch parts included!

I hear ya.....but sadly, as with so many other things, I feel like the dredded C word may have been the final nail in the coffin for the Macross HMR releases. I mean look at the last couple of years release counts, pitiful. Now I hope I'm completely wrong and they come back strong in 2021 with some awesome releases, but I think this ship has sailed. It's only about profit for Bandai, so when a line isn't producing the numbers, they're out.

@Convectuoso - Awesome! Please post more pics and let us know what you think of him when you get a chance! -
OMG! @MechTech You were totally right on that! Need Dramamine for that Google search! How good must the drugs have been back in the early 1900's right?! There was a phase on some ships that was like giant zebra stripes going in different directions! Anywhooo, Yeh, dazzle camo is....interesting to say the least, I was thinking something along maybe these lines.

Finished up the cockpit detailing yesterday, just have to paint the pilots now. Was thinking about a multiple grey camo pattern for the plane, maybe something like the old WW1 ships had. I watched a YT video of a guy the other day doing it on a 1/350 WW1 aircraft carrier build. I know there's a name for it but can't remember it. Hard edges, like 3 color of grey at differing angles, might look kinda cool... Paging master of everything ships @MechTech for the name...

My French High Altitude pilots look pretty close to what Misa Lisa was wearing in the episode with the Cat's Eye IMHO....Close enough anyway. Cockpit canopies are still a fit issue...

2 years ago, when I was single.. LOL.. I began building a Captain America Cat's Eye. I stopped after the basecoat went down and never got back to it for a few different reasons. I found the 2nd picture waaaay back in this thread the other day for inspiration... So here we go again.. Sanding base coat off....
