@arbit - thanks! @MechTech - Thanks! Yes, the seams fit/seams on the kit is terrible. Just getting the blue clear pieces in place was a bear. They just kinda have to "sit there" with nothing to lock them into place. I used Gorilla Super glue and a toothpick and prayer! All things considered though, for what it's worth, they sealed up pretty good. Putty and sanding, might have to rescribe a few lines, but all in all, I'm happy with it at this point. Here's a pic in the dark this morning running at 7.5 Volts. If you crank it up to 12 volts, its stupid bright!

I made a shiny black conference table with a screen on it for the meeting area in the back, I didn't like the little one that came on the floor part, so I cut it off and made my own! Still gonna use the smaller one as well, so I have two! Just gotta finish painting the figures now and then the interior will be DONE!

I'm totally BORED with the whole Naomi family drama thing this season, I mean damn, it's been like 3 episodes worth now at least??? She's just not my favorite character of the show and never has been. I love the show, but this season seems weak to me aside from about 2 episodes thus far. I do like Marko, he's nailing that part. Are we supposed to know who the girl is from the prison? If we are, I don't remember. -
Looks great! Back in Runabout land today, I made super thin windows out of overhead transparency film for all the windows on the ship. I was able to bend the front one using my photoetch bending tool and get the angle just right! This will aide greatly in saving room for the pilots, the control desk, not to mention the fact that you can see through it clearly, unlike the kit plastic clear parts. Tomorrow will be pilot and crew figure priming!

Well...came down with the Rona over New Years Weekend. Uhhgg. Nothing bad at all, I've had sinus infections that are waaaay worse, but anywhoo, since I'll be cooling my heels at home for two weeks from work, (thankfully getting paid), I needed a break from the Runabout, so I opened up the 1/350 USS Fort Worth and decided to start in on some assembly. Now this is my first non sci-fi model in a looong time and my first Trumpeter kit, which I've heard are very good, so far a couple of small complaints, but all in all everything is going fairly well so far. It's not a Bandai model, parts don't lock together, it's all glue and patience here! This morning I started on some photoetch that is supplied with the kit. Very impressed with the quality of it so far! Here's my first few microscopic parts fitted!

Great stuff guys! I've been under the weather with the crud for a few days, (not the Rona) so haven't gotten to much done around here. Today I had to splice 28 guage wire, which I didn't wanna do, but so be it. Got to try out my new $12 deep dark China heat gun though! Works great! I don't do models anymore, apparently just electronics if you didn't know any better looking at my work bench.. LOL

What's REALLY funny is how life always remembers to smack you directly in the face...Christmas Eve morning...easy, peasy VF-1D pre-order, no muss, no fuss. 6 hours later go to open the garage door to go to Mom's house for Christmas Eve, garage door springs break. THAT'S gonna be about $600 me thinks...*SIGH* *Immediately thinking-- "if I hadn't had pre-ordered that Valk, would this have happened????"

Speaking of Bandai Star Wars kits, as will all things Bandai....the line just kind of seems to have stopped as far as vehicles go and pretty much figures as well. Such a shame, so many more out there to be done.

I grew up using Model Master enamels in the 90's when I was semi serious modeling as a teenager and on again when I got back into the hobby seriously in my 30's. I will say that due to the lack of supply here locally and online in the last year or so, I've had to pretty much given up on using them. All my old ones dried up and I do keep them inside the house in a drawer. I've pretty much HAD to switch to Tamiya TS and AS spray cans (which are great) either straight out of the can or decanted and airbrushed and Tamiya acrylics for airbrushing. The only problem is brush painting with them. I still love enamels for that. Yes, yes I know people around here swear you can brush paint acrylics, well, it doesn't work for me so whatever. As long as I clear coat the crap out of every layer of acrylic I lay down with the airbrush they are protected just fine, but that gets mighty expensive with Tamiya clear coats. I do miss the option of having the good old Model Master enamel FS line to pick all my colors from. Oh well.

I look at is like this... Sleep lost --NONE. Time wasted stressing out in the middle of the night -- NONE. If the order goes through, fine, I'll worry about paying for it waaaay down the line, if it doesn't, I won't have to explain the the wife why $300+ is being spent.. Win Win Merry Christmas everyone!

Pre-Order in at AE. It was a mehh for me until the Fan Racer. That sealed it. It will go nice with my 1J. Maybe someday I'll get a Focker at somewhere close to MSRP. I'm patient.
