that's awesome!!! Great job!

I had to go Amazon. No local hobby shop.. well the one there is, which is a good hour round trip, didn't have it. Under $8 with Prime shipping. I put a tiny bit on, immediately wiped away the access with a pointy small qtip and then let it dry for about 20 minutes. Hit with a light sand and good to go! Water clean up. I did rinse out and clean the white applicator very well so hopefully it will keep it clean inside.

Trying a new putty, so far I love it! Best I've tried. The little applicator tube is perfect for small areas. Final primer layer going down on engines today! Paint tomorrow... Maybe..

@peter E is looking good! I hear you on the plane thing. I have a 1/48 Hasagawa F-22 in my pile along with the ever popular 1/72 YF-19 and YF-21 I want to do soon. After the Runabout and Cat's Eye and the good ole QRau that's been shelved for years now...hahaha. @electric indigo - that is a fantastic paint job! Love how the canopy is soo shiny too! Great job!

GREAT job!!! Looks fantastic! Your main deflector came out better than mine! I also wish I had remembered to paint the 3 shuttle bays a darker grey than the base color, but I forgot! I fully agree with the hot water trick, I keep a little bowl of water on a small warmer I got years ago that keeps my decal water pretty darn hot and I haven't had as many issues doing it that way.

Your D is looking perfect!!! Bravo!!!
-
The D is a MUCH more pleasant experience honestly, it's actually fun. The E isn't terrible, the nacelles are challenging, but nothing like the C.
-
Don't beat yourself up about the C engine decals to bad, they suck. We all do our best on them and move on!

@Special Sauce - you won't regret that purchase!

When I got mine upon release, it went from fighter to battroid once then back to a kind of hybrid gerwalk and there it sits to this day, with the missile packs and sword, which are cool. . From what I remember, it was involved, but not temper-tantrum inducing like ohhh I don't know...the 171's..

Looking good @peter! "The Ent B nacelle decals are the worst"....YEH...You really do think that...until you get to the C's nacelles...hahahahaha! Keep truckin along man! NX-01 looks great!

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

You guys seen this!!!??? WOW. Just WOW. I hope the guy that did this has a really good paying job designing toys! -
The set of 7 Enterprises becomes a sadistic mission to finish them at some point no matter what....you HAVE to keep going, because you keep thinking to yourself, man, this is gonna be SOOOO cool if I can only make them look half way decent! They are a bit of a rabbit hole to go down.
-
Any of you guys ever heard of or tried this method? I'm gonna try it!

I really wish Arcadia would reissue this bird with the fixed leg. It's SO gorgeous! Great job Lolicon!

@peter - free bit of advice...if you have any red left, mask off and airbrush the red front bussard collectors on the E. The red decals suck for those. I wish I had done it. I airbrushed the saucer impulse engines red which looked great and I wished my red on the nacelles would have been the same. Just my .02.

Absolutely incredible work sir! I have to agree, this might be the best looking one yet! I can't wait to see @tekering crank these out in different colors! -
@MechTech - Don't let your eyes deceive you, all that white isn't necessarily putty, a lot of if is paint/primer sludge that is slowly coming off. For one of Cap's older kits, the fit was honestly very good. Also keep in mind this was puttied probably TWO YEARS ago, and I sucked at putty then, and I suck at putty now, just a little less so now!

@rocketblast - I don't clear coat anything I do on toys. I use Flory's clay based grime wash for the 1J. I used Dark Dirt for years, but on the lighter colored Valks, grime is better IMHO, not as dark. You have to go over the lines twice, but it's fine to handle without clearcoat and the wash is down in the panel lines.

ahhh, superglue, it's such a blessing and a curse! Cursing is just part of modeling. I said a few choice wirtyderds myself this weekend! "Let's try thinning Tamiya Liquid primer with lacquer thinner and airbrushing it on the deck of the USS Fort Worth so it won't cover up all my hard work on the tiny PE! It worked great for the guy who did it on YouTube!" Yeeeehhhh....about that. It does work, however, you have to thin the ever loving crap out of it to get it to spray good. Despite my best efforts it still laid down rough in spots so I stripped it off and said screw primer, I'm just gonna paint the plastic. Used Vallejo Model Air - I have to say, that paint is phenomenal! No mixing, straight into airbrush and BAM! perfect mix to paint with and it has NO smell. Not even a whiff of anything. Not that I mind the Tamiya acrylic smell, but the Vallejo is better IMHO. Work continues on the Runabout warp nacelles, sanding and filling, filling and sanding..uuhhhhghhh....and then there's the hour I dedicated to working on stripping the disastrous primer/paint mix off the Cat's Eye. Slowly but surely! Onwards and upwards, maybe by 2022 I'll have something finished! @peter- I agree with you on the Ent C - I left it alone. Just so you know, the warp engine decals on that one and the E are some of the most challenging! @electric indigo- Love the paintjob! Great work! @MechTech - Soon you'll be making those guns really shoot tiny projectiles! I can see it now! Amazing work!
