  1. The season opener of The Expanse was on last night and I watched it just now - looks like another solid season coming up on the show. The books this is based on took a slight dip in quality after the items this season covers so I wonder how the show will do (only a slight dip, kinda like the author lost focus on what he wanted to do with the series). Lost in Space on Netflix tomorrow too. And the Krypton clips just after The Expanse made me want to try that show after all, hopefully the first episodes are still available on demand.
  2. I don't think it matters either way, I'm fairly certain this will come around in a few months no matter what. Got at least a couple of good pictures from a couple shows out of it too.
  3. My guess is that Quinto will want more money then they are willing to pay. Unless they really change things Spock would be a peripheral character in this show. Quinto is also not all that young any longer.
  4. I forgot to mention - the soundtrack in that trailer did sound like a western. Maybe with a nudge we could have Disney buy up the rights to Firefly. And that reminds me to watch Serenity again.
  5. Not watching it yet but I will be watching Stein's Gate 0, the first one was in my top ten of anime, which is quite a trick considering it is a massive talk fest. Looking forward to seeing where the time/parallel change pops in on this version - Stein's Gate is one of those films where remakes would be a good idea.
  6. Lawsuits between business partners is usually not a good sign for a renewed partnership. There are other players in the field of licensing Japanese Animation in the US that have far better relationships with the Japanese now as well. I have no prediction either way however.
  7. I missed where it said Funimation has a blu-ray. I see it will be simuldubbed and WILL signing up for that.
  8. It made under 30 million opening weekend on a 150 million budget. I expect it won't be in theaters long and that there will not be a third one.
  9. Death is not necessarily a bad thing for a Jedi. Luke said he went to (wherever he is) to die, they can (and should) make a good case for that having been a vision of the future he had but got wrong in his despair. Wrong as in he thought it would be a bad thing but ended up being a good one. Since Carrie Fisher is dead whatever role she was supposed to play in Episode 9 has a good chance of now being filled by Luke's force ghost.
  10. Original Claudia had an Afro but the one in this comic does not. Since Afros have been out of style since almost the day after SDFM was done being animated I don't have a problem with Claudia's change in hairstyle here. Roy though, he goes from chunky to lanky from one comic panel to the next which is why I singled him out. The arti itself, Lisa is pretty aweful, Minmay is a totally different character, Breetai is ghastly. The Zentradi scout pod thing looks good as well as a number of other Zentradi ships. I am not a fan of the VFs a couple comments up though, can't exactly put my finger on it - perhaps the extra detail lines making them look grungy is the problem.
  11. That is actually a rather nice rendition of Claudia, though I don't think her uniform ever had pleats in it. Fokker on the other hand... (I'm assuming that is him)
  12. Am I missing some comic pages somewhere?
  13. Only thing worse than them taking the blasters out of the pictures is the GRIPING about them taking the blasters out of the pictures. I'm going to go see it just to annoy those who are annoyed at me going to see it...
  14. I think I saw it at the Video Rental place. I don't remember it ever being on TV. It is a fantastic bit of cheese, take a low budget movie with horrible over-acting, goofy dialog, and an elf in loafers, and make it FUN to watch and you have Hawk the Slayer. Rifftrax has it in their riffed catalog and they did a good job with it too.
  15. THAT I would pay to see, it would be crap but I would pay...
  16. Oh heck, just noticed it was from 2015... Bummer
  17. Of all the things I never thought I would see (but WANT to see) this ranks pretty much near the top. I think I'll back this one, even if it doesn't get made the mere thought of this cheesy flick getting a sequel makes me happy. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/jul/06/hawk-the-slayer-film-sequel-terry-marcel-jack-palance?CMP=share_btn_fb
