Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
Dynaman replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I thought it was a turd from start to finish. The kinda movie you get when someone has too large of a SFX budget. The two leads had zero chemistry (and it just kinda felt creepy - the act more like brother and sister someone else mentioned) to boot. There was a good movie hidden in there somewhere but almost took the wrong turn almost every time when it came to details.- 52 replies

Lost in Space series a Netflix adventure?
Dynaman replied to 007-vf1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've been waiting a while for this one. It was announced last year but there has not been a lot of info leaked. -
I admit that I am a sucker for Winnie the Pooh and although it is only a teaser trailer the voice is perfect.
-
In mine there is no 1 or 2 either. Or at least I wish there wasn't. I check this thread for the same reason people watch train wreck footage...

If only that comic book had Breetai up there to use as a model, the dental work alone...

I'm not a lawyer but I can come up with some ideas. 1 - Someone ripped off and made destitute. If anyone was made destitute funding this it was due to them being a moron. 2 - Someone was physically injured in some way. 3 - Excellent publicity possibility. I don't see a chance of that here. What we have here, boiled down to the basics, is investors in a small (almost negligible) investment losing their investment when things did not go well - and proving fraud rather then incompetence does not look likely . The only real twist is that it is a kickstarter.
-
We must be talking to different kickstarter backers. A large number of the ones I talk to seem to think they will get their product guaranteed.
-
If people have not figured out the risks involved in backing a kickstarter by now they never will. I'm still amazed at the number of people that consider it exactly the same as pre-ordering.

Last comment on it, that force dimensional portal is the Star Wars equivalent of a Nuclear weapon - no matter how "good" you are you will keep it for yourself and not forget about it. Not using it at least for intelligence gathering stretches the imagination. An episode in specific about this temple, and maybe limiting it to the three people who made it having access, would tie up some loose ends. Other than that it was a very good episode. Ashoka certainly was the one to tell Ezra can't win em all.
-
Otherwise known as, we have a 3d model for this kid already, make a couple of changes and voila! Movie looks like fun. The original WIR surprised me with its awesomeness so I'm hoping this one lives up to it.
-
A temple nobody knew of that leads to that particular place? How could they forget THAT temple? It just doesn't make sense. Since the Sith were mostly defeated till only a couple were left they get a pass but the Jedi? Things get forgotten when the culture that created them is wiped out in some way, Jedi do not get a pass on this.
-
It makes the Jedi look even more idiotic than they already did in the prequals. It is one of those things where you have to ask the writers "Did you think this through at all?"

Super-Scale Robotech VF-1 Veritech statue

True - but it was also from 15(!) years ago? Am I reading that right? -
I almost spit on my computer monitor!

Somebody please tell me this is just a sick joke. Maybe it was a story they were cooking up for April 1st? http://www.syfy.com/syfywire/michael-bay-dora-the-explorer-movie-2019-release-date

A solid first couple episodes for this half season. Just like Clone Wars the show started off rocky but appears to be ending very well.

About the movies nothing, but it says good things about your sense of taste.

Ready Player One, in theaters March 30, 2018

As long as it is not Matrix 2 or 3... If I were living in the Matrix and someone took me out I would slap them upside the head and demand to be put back. This world the physical needs while in "The Matrix" are not looked after from what I can tell.- 98 replies

Seems to be making the same mistake as other dystopian films. The "bad guys" are not going to try and take away the latest "opium of the people" but would instead find ways of using it to exploit. Then again it is hard to say, maybe they are fighting to get people to take off the VR stuff and go see what a hell hole the world is turning into.- 98 replies

Just because images, or entire pages, of something are posted online does not mean rights have been granted to reproduce them elsewhere online. And what they did to Breetai, they deserve to burn in hades.

And the networks have companies buy ads to, it is a split between them on ad time. Syfy also has a large number of ads for their own shows on their channel too. I guess they need to fill in the ad time since the show was meant to run with a number of minutes of advertising and perhaps they could not find any buyers.

Ads - not really all that different from paying for cable and still watching ads. Not saying I like either system(*) mind you. (*) Cable or this all access nonsense.
