  1. I see the Xindi are mentioned, which is the Enterprise arc for a season. I looked and saw no online mention of the Kzinti however. They do have the feline species Kirk was with in his room but their species was not mentioned and the one from Star Trek 3 of course. (Trek 5 too?)
  2. I was surprised to read somewhere that TAS is canon (had to look up TAS to figure it out too). Although parts of it can't be - Kzinti, cough cough.
  3. At least for the TNG and DS9 shows going cheap was part of the deal. DS9 also was splicing the crew into footage from the original show so they had no choice really. TNG was using the bridge set from some display when they did that Scotty episode so they were saving money - and going for nostalgia +infinity in that episode anyway. Ent - they had a choice but went with old style, did they use the sets from Star Trek 2 (with the Elvis impersonator that funds it?). As an aside I'm going to visit those sets in the next few months. Discovery seems to be planning on using the Enterprise in an ongoing fashion so will most likely be changing the look to match the new show with some nods toward the original.
  4. "An LA source said" Hardly inspiring. I don't keep up with UK newspapers, is the Mirror considered reliable. With that "article" I would have doubts. Don't get me wrong, would love to see him back as Picard, even if only as a minor character, but he is a movie star now and I would expect he wants more money then they would be willing to pay except for a cameo type of role.
  5. I've been hoping, for years now...
  6. And with no Mustache! Tom Selleck owned the role, it is like filling in for Shatner. (which I have to note that Chris Pine did a fine job of). I have to admit I'm not really a Magnum PI fan, I watched it when it was on BUT I loved the theme music.
  7. The last season of 12 Monkeys is pretty good. Only a couple nights left since they are doing a bunch of episodes each week. Four episodes last week and three this week.
  8. Glasses with pictures on them have been around forever, so no fair saying anyone ripped them off - just about any you have seen is a ripoff from way back. What I'm really here to say is that Breetai has a Scooby Doo vibe going, kinda reminds me of a Shaggy expression.
  9. That is hilarious. "Loss of Love..." I think I know how Clash of the Bionoids translation was done.
  10. Just a rumor so far but sounds like a good idea to me. Disney really ought to think about this more than "X character is cool, we need an origin story!" http://www.syfy.com/syfywire/report-in-wake-of-solo-lucasfilm-putting-star-wars-spinoffs-on-hold
  11. This probably needs a new thread but to my shock (I just don't keep up like I used to) filming has started on the next Terminator movie. http://www.syfy.com/syfywire/linda-hamiltons-sarah-connor-finally-returns-in-first-set-pics-from-new-terminator
  12. Maybe that Worf spinoff show Mr. Dorn was hoping for has a chance now. That is an interesting premise at least.
  13. A good bit of news (rumor news?) that a bunch of new Star Trek TV is on the way. The only solid one seems to be that the new Discovery director has a deal to expand the TV options. The more out there one was Patrick Stewart may be back as Captain Picard.
  14. Did Walt Defecate in your corn flakes?
  15. Only took one watch for me to love it, the cockroaches coming out of the bathtube drain to clean it is priceless.
  16. That looks perfect.
  17. Looking online it says he was brought in as the director before any shooting starting and was there for a script rewrite. The movie was rushed however. More scary was the Oliver Stone version I saw mentioned.
  18. Dark Shadows is an underrated gem. Though I have not seen the original, remade that is, Alice in Wonderland the sequel was passable.
  19. You forget AWAY!
  20. Dumbo has its own problem in that regard - I expect the crows are either gone or quite different in this version. The other thing I thought of after a bit is that Dumbo is a very short movie at just over an hour so not only will there almost certainly be changes the movie is going to have to be lengthened to at least 90 minutes to be acceptable today.
  21. I'm a Goofy fanatic but still a sucker for Dumbo. I'll be going to see it.
  22. If that is supposed to be him he is looking mighty good for an 80+ year old guy.
  23. At least he still looks fit for the part. Val Kilmer on the other hand - maybe he works in the base cantina as a short order cook?
  24. No - turning Social Justice into something to be mocked is disgusting, which is exactly what the term SJW tries to do. I guess the SIWs Social Injustice Warriors, just can't handle a changing world.
