  1. Bad writing - it is impossible to hold of the Klingons and the Romulans with less then that. Who thinks the Klingons would have less then hundreds?
  2. I'll go see it, can't be worse then the second one. Crystal Skull was not great, but Temple of Doom was a whole movie full of nuked fridge.
  3. All 12 of them (or so?) Starfleet should have hundreds of vessels out there. Then again this has always been a problem with ST, Earth is always left undefended (apparently Vulcan too). The only movie to get this right was ST V, at least there they didn't say the Enterprise was the only ship available - they needed Kirk. (other then that, ST V was a total disaster of course - Anyone remember the ad for it that said "they need to put seatbelts in the theater for ST V" which my friend turned into "they need to put balls and chains in the theater for ST V")
  4. Ben Dixon? If so then here he is. http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B0002ZI62Wedit - you might have to squint to see him in the cockpit... EDIT EDIT, found another one. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=ben+dixon+robotech+action+figure&hl=en&prmd=imvnso&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1920&bih=1047&wrapid=tlif133060510753910&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17967844145476467498&sa=X&ei=OGxPT6aqG8afgwf9wo3NDQ&ved=0CEkQ8gIwAA#
  5. That might be partly due to the original Yamato series fell off a cliff after the second series - everything after that was getting worse and worse (with the exception of the final scene in the revised Final Yamato of course...) Macross has been consistantly good (I don't like M7 but others certainly love it, same thing in reverse for Frontier). Of course I'd be happy to see a Macross Remake, if it's great then that is great, if it stinks then I can ignore it.
  6. 2013 is for the series on TV, I had read somewhere else that they plan on releasing on disk first. The show most likely will not be shown on TV till the DVD sales need a boost (or the show is complete)
  7. Wife and I saw the movie in Imax, the lense flare and flashing started to actually HURT after a while - on the TV at home it is just annoying rather then painful though.
  8. You forgot one change that is REQUIRED! Big B's locket has a picture of Rick Hunter instead of Minmei...
  9. That would have to be the other way round, Yamato came first.
  10. Looking forward to it, refuse to be baited into an ST vs SW fight, or old trek vs new trek either. No more lense flare would be nice.
  11. I could see them saying that "End of the Circle" was not Cannon, but to just pick and choose from the sentinels is silly, er wait - I forgot, sentinels left a few Zentradi alive and we can't have that, all we can have are "Aliens"
  12. Still looking good so far. Can't wait to see it.
  13. At least that is better then. "Aren't you cheesed off yet?, take your blased sword and kill me already!"
  14. If it's Del Toro in charge then I have high hopes for it. Hellboy was excellent (one of my favorite Super Hero adaptations, even though his creator would not call him such), and Pan's Labyrinth was excellent as well. It is refreshing to have someone that can mix genre and first class characterization.
  15. You have two of us. I consider the novels superior to the show for two reasons (one serious, one not). 1 - In my mind I can believe that the English Minmei can sing. The reality leaves something to be desired. (that was the amusing one). 2 - Although the novels follow the action on screen too closely they do get to change the dialog so it is not so stilted, most noticably in the Masters Saga portion. The description of the BD Edwards (whatever his name ended up being...) "fleet" attacking the RDF in video game patterns - yeah that was pretty stupid... What some say with derision I say with pride, I am a McKinniyist.
  16. Sure, why not? I couldn't loathe that show any more then I already do...
  17. Now I see the problem, we live in different universes.
  18. The whole Nishizaki hates the UN and the US bit... The movie was such a disjointed mess it is hard to figure out what it was really meant to be. You might be pleased with the director's cut ending, from the sound of it he destroys the Yamato yet again. (the director's cut ending is said to be the more depressing one)
  19. If they could make the story a little more coherent it would be great. The changes made in order to get a second season/more episodes make it lurch along a bit at some spots. New animation, especially for Max and Millia's knife fight scene would be nice as well. (not to mention all those animation errors for Misa)
  20. There is nothing to stop them from producing an english language version - they just can't sell it in the US, but that is no problem for an electronic format that US customers could just happen to access.
  21. Keith - that is really stretching things... Yamato is good for a reboot, since everything after the first two series is pretty much a letdown. A fresh start would do it some good.
  22. I plan to watch this when it comes out on DVD, the ad for it almost had me thinking it was a stupid comedy about teens with TK powers, then it shows that "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely". Looks interesting.
  23. Due to you know who, there is no english licensing of the Macross properties...
  24. What does it matter? Neither is actually more accurate then the other.
  25. It would be nice if they would outsource an english version. The let someone else do the english, offer it for sale, and the ones who did the translation get a cut of the sale of the english version (english version only). A number of fan translation groups would probably go for that - it beats getting nothing for the work...
