    Releasing a non-premium VF-0D, but with proper "slate blue and pale grey" base colors (instead of deep royal blue and pure white), would cost them almost nothing and bring some quick sales.

    No, I'm pretty sure Michael Burnham isn't in this one... 🤔😜 I'm sure the academy curriculum has probably changed a bit since the 2370s when field study was a sophomore year activity, but all things considered if this series is going to work at all it's going to need a fantastically good explanation for why the Starfleet Academy Earth campus's first incoming class in over a century is being immediately thrown into harm's way on a poorly supervised training ship in the badlands instead of... y'know... attending classes at the titular academy. Having said that, I know it's going to be the dumbest f***ing thing I'll have seen since SNW dressed Chris Myers up like a Power Rangers villain and tried to play it laser straight.

    The Arcadia VF-1 and SDF-1 toys are most likely made using the old tooling from Yamato days. So basically, Arcadia just needs to get enough money from pre-orders to pay whatever factory they are using in China for the material and labor to make the toys and then get them shipped from the factory. Whereas the VF-5000G is an all new design and requires new tooling which is a major manufacturing expense. If as I expect, Arcadia is stuggling financially, it take them a long time to save enough funds to get the tooling for the VF-5000G made.

    So if we think about when they teased about the SDF-1 and how long it took from then to arrive at market release, when would the VF5000 come out if following a similar timeline?
