    DX VF-27 Revival

My Lucifer just arrived. Are the shoulders assembled incorrectly on all of the revivals? Can one tell just by looking at the underside?
  3. Graham

    DX Chogokin VF-17S

I wonder if a lot of Japanese Macross fans are complaining about the DX VF-17S design?
  4. Yet to actually take the Moshow out of the box and play with it.😅 But, so far I'd say the Sentinel.
  5. Today
  6. For those interested: EXO-6 Kelvin Time Spock, $220 USD + $25 USD S+H
  7. If I have any choice in the matter, I'll be off world somewhere, either in the solar system or on one of the early colonies. In fact, I'd have probably been off world already even before the war. I've been staring at the sky and longing for the stars my whole life. As soon as it became possible in the setting, I'd like to think I would have jumped at the opportunity.
  8. Yesterday
  9. I can provide what is available from the Macross Delta Scramble game models, but I'm not sure how printer friendly they'll be. I'll try to extract the head tomorrow and save it to STL format. Scaling it as needed and making it compatible with the DX toy will be some work that one of you would need to do.
  10. I think a significant portion of the weirdness comes from the fact that the nose of the 171 makes up a significant portion of the torso, which is just completely absent on this "17" version. There's just nothing there to look like it even connects to itself, and the legs are just left floating around the nosecone.
  11. Interesting. I wonder if this is going to follow the book and jump timelines past and forward from the original movie. It could be good , if Mann gets the budget he needs.
  12. He’s a little chubby now, but this is starting to turn into a Pac-Man post public domain horror movie
  13. I hate this
  14. No; he'll devour them. Maybe they should call it Eat instead.
  15. Not sure why they even have to go there. Leo has been a bit chubby lately, is he just gonna roll after his enemies?
  16. I’d almost get that predators could understand English or at least some earth languages. They’ve been recording and sometimes using those recordings to mimic their Prey even in the older movies. Not saying they understood those recordings then, but maybe down the line. I don’t really have an understanding of their home world society, since they haven’t given much info on it, and it seems to change somewhat every few years for even the slightest bit of info we have on them. Personally I think the less we know about them the better. Alien keeps making the mistake of giving us too much background information and it’s usually disappointing
  17. While I'm sure it will be made well HEAT2 is a sequel that movie goers never asked for. Hollywood is truly out of ideas...
  18. Yeah, that's the problem with having a limited breeding population with limited genetic diversity. You end up reinforcing recessive traits, some of which are potentially detrimental. Fortunately there were about a million surviving Humans after the war so the genetic diversity wasn't catastrophically low. The Zentradi ran into their own problems once they started reproducing naturally too. Like Klan Klang's "clumsy" genes that affect her usage of the miclone system. (Given that Master File indicates the New UN Gov't eventually solved the Zentradi "fighting instincts" problem with gene therapy, one has to wonder if they solved the problems from that initial extensive use of cloning Humans the same way. They could potentially wipe out all kinds of diseases and potentially-fatal conditions that way, as we're starting to do now in the real world with potential gene-editing cures for things like HIV and Down syndrome.) They compressed the range of heights for the Zentradi a bit in the movie version, yeah.
  19. Evolution Toy's VF-2SS is 1/60 scale, so it's about 50% larger than the Bandai Hi-Metal. I'm not a toy collector by any means, but my wholly subjective impression is that the Evolution Toy VF-2SS is lower-quality than the Hi-Metal R despite its larger size. It has some joint problems particularly around the hips and struggles to stay in fighter mode due to the tabs that hold the legs up being a poor fit. IMO the main advantage of the ET one is its larger size + the availability of the Fairy Platoon variant with decals to do the other three members of Sylvie's unit. Neither toy is truly screen-accurate though. They both made the same design compromises to have the removable Super Armed Pack so the pack itself is a lot bulkier and sits a lot higher on the airframe. Neither one has the correct number of Squire bits either. The VF-2SS normally has five, but the Hi-Metal R has four and the Evolution Toy only two.
  20. If this truly becomes a reality, Michael Mann will have no choice but to include a shoot-out scene just like the original in that "extra loud" blanks are used outdoors, around buildings for that blistering echo effect and causes the movie theaters & your eardrums to rumble... otherwise, don't bother. While HEAT is 30 years old now (where did the time go?), it's possibly one of the most acclaimed crime-dramas ever made and that shootout scene in downtown LA is legendary.
  21. ‘Heat 2’ Is On: Michael Mann Crime Drama Moves From Warner Bros. to United Artists; Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber Producing (Exclusive)Mann is set to direct the follow-up to his 1995 feature, which has Leonardo DiCaprio circling to star.
  22. Jared Leto is a very good actor but he seems cursed in the sci-fi and action films and should just go back to dramatic roles.
  23. I've been saying that my expectations for the film have been in the basement since they announced Jared Leto's casting. I still want to see it in 3D because I happened to catch a preview in 3D, and the Recognizer flying over the city looked amazing in 3D.
  24. Ouch. Yeah, it is about that bad isn't it, if we've gone from "inscrutable alien spree killer hunting the most elite soldiers in the world" to "alien hunter intern tries to prove himself and land a full-time position". Makes you wonder how they can even understand each other, since the Predators don't exactly speak English and have tried to avoid contact with Humanity except on the hunt.
  25. Mechanical Marie Multiple kidnapping and assassination attempts orchestrated by his own relatives have turned the Zebes corporation's young heir Arthur Louis Zetes into an extreme misanthrope. For his own safety and convenience, he commissioned the Zetes corporation to create a robot maid to tend to his home and personal needs. Faced with his impossible sci-fi ask from the company's next CEO, the Zetes corporation hires the legendarily stoic martial arts champion Marie "the Robot" Evans for her combat skills and unshakeable poker face and asks her to play the role of said robotic maid and bodyguard in exchange for clearing her parents debts and paying for her education. For the sake of her future and family, Marie has to keep her charge safe and convinced that she is the robot the Zetes corporation claims she is. So begins an unlikely romance comedy as Arthur quickly develops a bodyguard crush on what he firmly believes is an inanimate object and Marie struggles to cope with Arthur's very unpleasant and fratricidal family. It's fun in an odd couple-y sort of way. A bit like Spy x Family, if Yor were Loid's bodyguard.
  26. Reviews are coming in. I'll still go see it but my expectations are lowered now. https://www.ign.com/articles/tron-ares-review
  27. Hopefully, I'm in one of those places no one ever talks about because the colony mission was quiet and uneventful, and found a peaceful planet far from any bullcrap.
