  1. Past hour
  2. Interesting. I just had an upgrade kit get delivered this past Saturday by Uniexpress. normally these things come via USPS and get put safely in my mailbox. The Uni guy put the package in front of my garage instead of putting it on my porch. I wasn't aware of the delivery, as I didn't look at my email, so it sat in the pouring rain and then my dog destroyed the outer cardboard box and part of the inner product box before I discovered it on Monday. Fortunately the innards were still intact and serviceable, a lucky break for sure, as my dog is a serious chewer and would have absolutely destroyed the contents had it remained outside for much longer. The kicker is that the Uni dude took a picture of the package placement from inside his car and he caught my dog scrambling down the porch steps in the photo he sent me. Lesson learned- I need to really stay on top of tracking in the even these guys deliver another package. As to the VF-19 Fire Valkyrie, the painted and lined shots look great! Kudos to the talented folks who enhance the beauty of these lovely beasties and generously share pics. Like other folks here, I'm not a big fan of the red and yellow/gold or the face, either, but I still love the design, the silhouette. I went for the HMR version of it, however, as it was the more affordable and space-saving option, since I'm out of room for 1/60 scaled valks. Moreover, it's pretty much perfect transformation, and that, too, appeals to me, as well as its being a smaller capture of the larger DX. I own a Yamato Blazer valk, and I love that thing's design, but I like the straighter nose of the HMR/DX. I'm happy to have both in my collection. The other aspect of the HMR toys is that they seem more playable, if that makes sense. I'd rather fidget about with them than the 1/60 toys, even if a little more care needs to be exercised around needle thin antennae and such. That said, and in spite of my lack of space, I'm still holding out useless hope for Arcadia to release their VF-5000G. I'd far, far prefer it in this color scheme, but I fear beggars can't be choosers, and we'll be lucky to get it at all at this point since it was revealed back in 2022 with little news since. I'd happily take and HMR, though. 😄
  3. Tried two more new ones today. I was hoping for something unconventional, and Isekai Office Worker: the Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter seems to be set to fit that bill. Its basic premise seems to be very similar to titles like The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, with a general j-fantasy alternate world that's under threat from periodic outbreaks evil miasma™️ that only the chosen isekai'd Lady Saint™️ can clean up with her magical powers. Where it differs is that it's about a random office worker who is accidentally isekai'd along with the future Lady Saint while trying to save her from being isekai'd. He's so used to Japan's toxic work ethic that, despite being told the kingdom will give him a generous stipend to live on as an apology for being isekai'd by mistake, he demands a job. So the kingdom sets him to work in its government accounting office, where he is immediately stunned by its relaxed work ethic... then finds its lax practices have been allowing all kinds of questionable accounting that he tries to crack down on just as the miasma sends the kingdom into a state of emergency. It's... unusual. I'm curious to see where it goes. The Case Book of Arne is, most unusually, apparently an adaptation of a freeware horror mystery video game made in RPG Maker and released back in 2017. Apparently it garnered enough of a following to be adapted into a manga in 2018, and now an anime. On paper, it's a supernatural detective story about a vampire who works as a Sherlock Holmes-style private detective solving crimes with supernatural origins that the conventional authorities just can't. I'm going to withhold judgement on this series until I've seen at least another episode or two, because the first episode is so badly composed that calling it a mystery or a detective story feels like Blatant Lies or at least false advertising.
  4. @electric indigo that orange! 🔥 looking hot
  5. No; it mashed into my thumb and I had to scrape it off to get it off my thumb.
  6. I don’t think it was a big issue until the 50’s or 60’s I remember it was supposedly a big part of why silver age comics had the comics code stamp to prove that things were wholesome and kinda tamed a lot of things in comics. I guess it even distracted parents when the Adam West series popped up that Robin had to cover his junk with his cape due to parental complaints
  7. @MechTech That actually is a Tucano (not Super Tucano)
  8. Robin Hood will return in Avengers: Doomsday.
  9. Still one of the silliest scenes of the movie. She got her partner horrifically killed because she got distracted by the bbc
  10. Today
  11. I guess it depends. I hear they’re using this to push for a reboot with a different X-Men with newer actors playing them. So this might be what ends the og movie X-Men to give way for the new X-Men of a different universe or whatever. I hate the multiverse. Finally Give Cyclops a cool outfit just to probably kill him off again
  12. If you do check out the series, I’d stick with the original 50-episode anime only. The sequel series (AO/Astral Ocean) devolved into garbage. And most of the movies apparently just muddy the story way too much.
  13. @pengbuzz Your Enterprise is looking good so far. Sorry about the decal 🥺 Can you reglue it back on with white glue and water? @electric indigo The paint looks GREAT on that. It looks like a Pilatus or Tucano, but the tail and canopy are wrong. - MT
  14. I never opened my first release Hot Rod so I'll be sure to open the Target release when it comes in.
  15. Still working on them, but I have a slight issue: for some odd reason, the ship name ("USS ENTERPRISE", decal #30) stuck to my thumb and came off the ship!! O.O Does anyone possibly have a spare?
  16. HLJ got my VT-1 gerwalk in. Better late than never.
  17. Yeah. I mean, the only thing I definitely want is the hands, but I'd consider using the gun-wings, knees and shins. The rest not so much. Guess it'll depend on the price... Those the Yolopark figure kits? After reviewing the G1 Megatron back in the day I bought up a bunch of the RotB AMK kits pretty cheaply on Amazon, but I had a lot going on at the time and wound up not doing anything with them. I don't think I ever even got Mirage... was he only released as a more expensive AMK Pro kit?
  18. MPM Next as line has me a bit intrigued now as word on the street is that Habro is out and Takara is fully in command. It is such a shame how for example MPM-12 OP turned out, so I'm hoping that Sideswipe and future releases get a high quality approach in desing and engineering without Hasbro's annoying buget caps. On the other hand... when I look at how MPG has mutated into a less premium line these days, then I'm probably wishing for too much. 😄 I think that sentiment came more from the Hybrid/Hasui camp and less from the MP collectors seeking for an improved Sunbow cartoon vibe over MP-28. Personally I'm not sure about this Style Gen. Hot Rod, from the one coloured image I can't say it has ignited a burning flame on in me to get it (😁) or see it as a full replacement for MP-28. I can already not unsee a certain break in the sculpt/silhouette that will most likely continue to annoy me. Seems like it is a line for repurposed Hasbro mainline stuff, so no interest from my side. Would have like to have an announcement for Overgear or maybe the next AMT.
  19. Preorders sold out already. I guess that works for me. If we'd have gotten the toy-deco Hot Rod that was supposed to come in Velocitron I'd have have definitely picked that up, but I'm struggling to find a reason to buy a slightly more magenta Hot Rod. I did notice that it does fix the yellow on the roof, and I do like the lightsaber and shield... maybe if I actually see it on the shelf I'll buy.
