davidwhangchoi Posted September 17 Posted September 17 ‘Miami Vice’ Reboot With ‘F1’ Director Joseph Kosinski Gets 2027 Release Date
TangledThorns Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Kosinski is a good director but not rebooting Miami Vice as a series is a lost opportunity imho.
Duke Togo Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I'm a pretty big Miami Vice fan and am jazzed they're setting this in the 80s. I'm a little anxious about who they'll cast, though.

Yeah a movie format somehow misses the point on what made the series popular...the story pacing, looks +and letting jan hammer's score seep into the dramatics... That said, not sure if any new series would work either...miami vice was a product of its time...
Graham Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Miami Vice is still to this day my favorite (non-anime) TV series. Just actually rewatching it again at the moment and currently half way through season 3. I actually quite disliked the Colin Farrel & Jamie Foxx movie though. Not sure we need another movie, but I guess it's cool that they are setting it in the 80s.
Thom Posted Friday at 02:29 PM Posted Friday at 02:29 PM Miami Vice was one of the best parts of the Wedding Singer!
TangledThorns Posted Friday at 07:28 PM Posted Friday at 07:28 PM I watch this video to kill my nostalgia for the 1980s, lol.

I think I’m still more of an og Battlestar Galactica or Buck Rogers fan, but I do also love Miami vice,A Team, Airwolf, 80’s Magnum PI and a couple of others that I have a hard time picking favorites from as far as live action.

That right there is spot on. I can only see them doing a parody these days. MV was cemented in the time it was made, right down to the pastels (which IIRC they were the instigator of)

electric indigo Posted Monday at 08:40 AM Posted Monday at 08:40 AM MV was very influential in terms of visual storytelling IMO, still valid today. Some sequences are burned into my mind.

I think it was the music and cars. A lot of clubs had people dressed that way out here in ca near the beaches, not sure if they were mimicking the show or the other way around either. The hair was also pretty common.
