it was kind of inevitable that I would get this... (it showed up a couple weeks ago, I just now got around to taking pictures of it because I'm lazy.)

I could only dream of importing figs like these. Where I'm at, there's no telling if something like that would get held up at the customs. The only stuff I import are those that I'm certain could get past customs like mecha or mecha, and maybe mecha.

yeah, that would seriously suck. although it might stop me from spending so much money.

I think the figure buying itch is back again, I've got all these pre-ordered and I don't think I'm going to cancel any of them...

Nice pre-orders.

Almost makes me want to apply for the green card lottery just to be able to import some of these gorgeous figs.

The 1/8 Knee Socks fig should make it through safely here, though.

BTW, I totally LOL'ed at "ChiChinoe"! Nice pun, even nicer fig.

Is it wrong that I want to visit my girlfriend after seeing this pic?

hmm... so aparently Yamato is in the posable anime girl figure market. aparently this is figure number 2 in the line, with number 1 being an ignis figure that I don't even remember coming out.

This thing is supposed to be 220mm tall so about 1/8 scale which is nice. I don't really care for how dinky figmas are. I also don't really care for Tamaki all that much, but aparently number 3 in the line is going to be a Yoko that looks pretty good.

Damn damn DAMN! My favorite statue of all time: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEXY-JUN-statue-rare-item-/120880675805?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c250cbbdd#ht_500wt_1413

took a dive off of a shelf. Luckily, the only damage is a couple of chips on the hair, but now the front part of her "hair" is cracked and could come off. What sort of goop would I use to fix this? I'm assuming that some glues would melt this figure or at least damage the paint? I don't even know what she's made of! Any advice you guys can give would be very helpful, thanks in advance...

Hey, Myk.

However you might choose to fix it, you will have to repaint the hair, or at least touch up the sealed crack with the closest brown color.

I don't recommend "cement" [the watery type that melts plastic to bond model kit parts], as you'll have to deal with the prospect of damaging the hair even further--it could melt the surrounding plastic and you'll have to sand off the gobs of plastic that form around the seams. Maybe try epoxy or putty to fill/seal the crack and hope it doesn't get worse. Since it's a statue and you're not likely to move it around, epoxy or putty should be good enough for the job.

To be honest, I'm no expert when it comes to repairing these things, and my recommendations come from tips gleaned off of modeling forums. Maybe some more experienced modelers can help you here.

EDITED FOR TYPOS.

Ok thanks guys, so superglue won't melt anything? I like the putty idea; what sort of epoxy are we talking about?

no way at all that you could afford to replace her with another? after all, she IS your A-1 favorite, right?

my advice; get yourself that other one in that listing, hell with the price, and this time, put her in a permanent place

where she is GUARANTEED to be safe, little fall or no...

♥She'd be plenty good enough for me♥

it's only natural though, that YAMATO would start to branch out like this; they won't be able to make their daily bread on Kanzen Henkei MACROSS VFs forever,

and Moe Musume figures and statues are, and probably have been, for quite a number of years now, the most lucrative "Toy" market in japan, by far...

Tamiya putty and epoxy is popular among gunpla modelers who use it to fill in seams on certain parts. They're designed for use on resin kits, too.

Here are a few links to the items:

http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87095

http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87097

The last one is a polyester putty, which seems to be the most suitable one for the job, as it mentions "repairs" as one of its intended uses.

Hope this helps.

So umm... I have absolutely no idea who this character is, or what piece of media she's from, but I've decided that I need to have it.

It's Ignis. Very popular character from the Hentai game, Chaos gate. There have been plenty of figures of her in the past. Actually Yamato is also making a fully articulated version of her, due some time this year.

I couldn't resist this one!

An elven version of Ignis? (or has she always had ears like that and I somehow never knew?)

based on a cursory search of Google/Danbooru, apparently she only has pointy ears when she's in a wedding dress, (and/or has fairy wings)

I couldn't resist this one!

I was interested in getting that one too, but there's already two figures coming out the same month as that one. I'm trying to avoid getting too many figures at once and if I'm going to choose I'll get stuff from shows/artists I like/have an existing interest in rather than stuff that just looks cool.

that said, Ignis is coming out way off in october when I'm not expecting anything, and I just really like Satoshi Ishiyama sculpts.2gulajc.png

Once upon a time I seem to remember we had a dedicated GITS threat but after conducting a search I got nothing, so I'll post this here. I find it to be too pricey for what it is, but some may be interested; it is a very nice action figure of the major from STAND ALONE COMPLEX, much better than the one Yamato put out a few year ago. Amiami has it up for preorder.

Gutto-Kuru? Never heard of this company before. The agressive and yelling faces look decent, but the neutral face looks kind of meh. The quality of the joints looks iffy. The poor hip articulation is kind of a deal breaker.

That said, I'm desperate enough for a GitS fig to consider actually buying this.

Wish it was a figma, though.

Gutto-Kuru = CM's corp's 1/8th scale possible figure line. this is the same line that released that really awesome Noriko figure a couple months ago: http://www.hlj.com/product/CMS65417

if this one is anything like the Noriko they did (which it looks like) then it's basically a Figma only bigger and better.

I really like that toy, but yeah... freakin expensive. 1/8 though. If they did Deunan and Bri from Appleseed I'd consider this.

I think it's time for some company to come out with a Motoko Kusanagi statue with her in uniform and the "Cash Eye" episode suit. There are tons of stealth suit Motoko statues/figures out and that Vice/Alter one is still the best.
