Huh. I still find it hard to believe that you'd be able to fit Jetfire into a SR-71. That sounds like some voodoo, even if they were going to market a toy at $300. That aside, if there was a PT SR-71 in Macross (without the shard-like robot mode), I'd buy it for $300. SR-71s are awesome. =P

The guys at ILM have said that while everything in a car or truck is in their robot models, they add a bunch of stuff as well. Bay can claim all he wants that there's no mass shifting but the actual modelers have disputed that claim.

I think it's possible to get jetfire into an SR-71 but it's going to require lots of origami type folding and spindly limbs . The skeleton of Jetfire would pretty much have to be aluminum or titanium to be able to take the stress of transforming.... the SR71 is a really thin bird.

Hey maybe the American TF market can have a taste of exploding shoulder syndrome then too =P

transformer collectors have GPS to worry about...NOT funny when your minty G2 Electro crumbles in front of you....

I'll give you that, I love the SR-71. I was just making a point about Jetfire.

Eugimon has a point as well, I did say a little bit of cheating after all. No doubt there was some fudging for the CGI model, but when it comes down to the toy which is meant to hit a $50 price point at max there is only so much that the toy designers can do and make it worth that low a price. Hence you are hit with the classic problem all Transformer jets face: robot kibble on the underside. It is an inescapable evil. Only the most die hard of TF fans are willing to pay the amount of money Macross fans do for Valkyries. I surely am not, and I can't afford Macross stuff as it is which is why all I have is a 1/48 VF-1J Max and the 1/72 VF-25S model. Low grade stuff can be good sometimes.

Anyway, this page still has a lack of valk porn. Someone needs to get snapping.

All right, boys, bring out the Vampire!

I can see Jetfire fitting in the frame of a SR-71. He was pretty spindly in the movie, and his proportions matched up pretty well.

The only part that gets me is that his father, apparently, was a wheel. What does that make his mother?

Schizo, I wouldn't look too much into it. That movie did a little too much humanization of the Transformers as it is, throwing in human familial relationships is just one of them I took to ignoring. It is very possible Jetfire was not being serious about that father stuff.

We are starting to get a big off topic though...

transforming SR-71 you say?

I would so want a VF-14. It's my third most wanted valk after the VF-4 and VA-3.

http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macross7/vf-14-m7plus.htm the Macross 7 version look more like the real SR-71 but the Battroid looks off to me.

Hey where did you get the stand?

I believe it is the stand that came with the HCMpro Freedom Gundam, it was one of the only HCMpros to come with a stand. Mine is pretty shitty because the top part got really loose and it cant hold the Freedoms crotch anymore... but maybe it works fine with a valk

wow! really liking that shot... very pleasing to my eyes... is that still just sunlight?

It's actually an LED desk lamp, some car windshield heat shields and tweaking with the white balance... still dialing it all in.

Even G1 had slight references of... Cybertronian... "manufacturing", namely when one sports car character, whose name I can't recall, says to a "female" chracter of the same type, "I've heard the first time can hurt," referencing... Er, well, there's a wikia article about it on the Transformers wiki. I'm not gonna get to into it.

Point is, TFs have had a familial structure since the original series. It's just not as prominent as when Senile Jetfire says it.

Back on topic, friggin' Eugimon and his friggin' skillz.... Nice images, yet again.

the top part got really loose and it cant hold the Freedoms crotch anymore

It's nearly 1 AM, and I have to point out how that sounds.

I know all about it, I'm a rather huge TF fan, lol. I also tend to peruse that wiki very often, so I've seen the page. My point was mostly due to how the movie over exaggerated the humanization. However it really didn't bother me because I can easily overlook things to enjoy a story (which allowed me to like ROTF, unlike some people in the world).

As for the pic, I am surprised how nice the CF-1J looks. I never was particularly fond of that color but it is very nice looking.

Ott-Lite's and copy paper. Seriously.

Yeah, I wanted to stay away from actual full spectrum bulbs, even though I know it would be easier.

frak it, I'll just do the color correction in post

or you can get a gray card and set a custom white balance off that.

I've found 2 lamps is usually enough, although I would love a third. I also need an infinity board, but I blew the money I had put away for one on flexidisplay stands :D

:edit: actually I think a black board would be better.

I had the picture style mode set wrong so it was taking shots with max contrast and saturation.
