TER-OR
With regards to molds for big parts (1lb mass or greater) all I can say is just take your time to make the mold box as strong, secure, and leak-proof as possible--this is where most people cut corners; often with disastrous results. I have seen guys make molds in which the interior is silicone, and stiffened on the outside with plaster (I think). I can find out more information in needed, but these were meant for large shapes which likely would have suffered from mold droop without such enhancement. Regular regeneration of the silicone, and using talc gave the molds a long life - though the frequency of casting was low due to the heat build-up and wanting to avoid burnout. 007-vf1
By desteny's fate I had the opportunity to lay my little paws on one o these trucks. I must say I am quite impressed by the sculpt. The details on the under side vents and fuel/chemical valves are simply exquisite... I didn't know you could get this much detail on one mold, and is a big chunk or resin.. Thanks Capt..
