Hasegawa YF-19 Completed

Recommended Posts

I just put the finishing touches on a 1/72 Hasegawa YF-19. This is the first one of these that I have built. It was a nice kit to work on. A nice change of pace from all of the 1/48 customs. Customer wanted a nice clean paint job with no weathering. Let me know what you think.

Agreed, it needs panel lines.  Also, what's going on with the cockpit there?  How come the cockpit housing doesnt match the fuselage?

I would have done panel lines if the customer requested it. The "cockpit housing"? Are you refering to the gray piece behind the canopy? I was just following Hasegawa's painting guide, and it shows that piece gray.

That's the panel coming on, after the ejection of the passager and the canopy (at the end of M+)

I see you have the same problem for the pilot. Hasegawa is not clear: where the arms joint the body ? I place the shoulder higher than you... but not sure that's the right place.

Nice job anyway. :)

it looks great i love my kits clean and not dirty. i think some nice clean panel lines would benefit this kit greatly, fantastic work as always.

ok, not going to be it's final resting place, but it's in the spot light for now.

once again, THANK YOU Kurt! You did another wonderful job. Now, I need to start saving for the next custom....but i gotta go buy accessories for my new gun first.

  • 7 months later...

K- I'm alittle worried.

I'm just now getting into the modeling thing, and only recently picked up the Hasegawa YF- 19.

It appears I have a great deal to learn before attempting this kit.

VERY cool pics; I can only hope to develop that level of skill.

So I think I'll begin with some generic plane kits or something, to begin practicing.

Again...awesome.

Compared to the VF-1's, the '19 is a fairly simple build but I would definately recommend practicing on some cheapies first.
