  1. At first glance the transformable kit there does look better, but you start to notice a lot of places where it falls short: 1. No tabs at the end of the wings to lock into the legs in fighter. You see a gap between the wings and the legs in the first pic. 2. chest isn't wide enough. This helps reduce the carved out upper thighs problem the Yammie has, but the whole chest in battroid looks pretty squashed, and is not properly cupping around the nosecone. 3. Hands dont seem to fold into arms when in fighter. Not anime accurate. 4. Crotch area is completely different to lineart and anime in battroid mode. 5. Backpack looks a little big. Bigger than the yammie even. I think its cause of that arm assembly in the back there (look at pic 9) 6. Yamato did the collapsing leg compartment (to make way for the bulge in the stowed forearms) much better than this model kit. Page 19, right picture shows the huge gaps in the structure of the inner lower leg. Its because they tried to make the entire inner leg panel angle inwards, rather than have a single slot collapse. Still seems like the design suffered here since the lower forearms look pretty small. 7. The vertical stabilizers on the rear of the legs don't fold and lock upwards like the Yammies, and as a result, they are nearly dragging on the ground in gerwalk and battroid. I think the Yammie design is far superior to this actually. What they need to do is to improve the joint looseness, have a locking chest, loosen the neck locking mechanism, and given the thrusters some more mobility and angle. The only thing Yamato could learn from this kit is the much better and sleeker looking neck curtain they have in fighter mode.
  2. I'd like to see that thing even attempt a transformation though >_>
  3. Whoa, what valkyries are those? Sweet custom paint schemes.
  4. Thank you Mike for making my opinion so articulated for me. XD But 505 is right. I love the VF-2SS. I love to hate it.
  5. Look, I like to indulge in dirty fetishes once in a while okay? The Armored VF-25 is only awesome for how ridiculously overloaded it is. The VF-2SS isnt overloaded, but just falling apart.
  6. Yea, I gotta admit that Gundam tank looks nice even though I could care less about gundams. lol
  7. I would go for the Armored Alto, since I think the white/red scheme looks better, plus Alto gets a sniper rifle in addition to his standard gunpod. Things are different if you already have another version of Alto already or something.
  8. Sure, let's build a SDF and get into space. I hope you remembered that Earth was obliterated and humanity was reduced to a population of a few million shortly afterward though. I guess that's something you want to leave out of your construction proposal =P By the way, why don't you try to pose those head antennae by pushing them to their limits? Good luck. *snap*
  9. Yea, except that a dam actually helped generate revenue and resources for the country after its construction; it wasn't a huge waste. =P Although if you were thinking in terms of constructing a WMD, then I guess its reasonable.
  10. I recently bought an Iwata Revolution CR from Grossman. Told me it was out of stock though and I'd have to wait.
  11. The Sheryl sculpts are great, don't get me wrong, but where is Cathy!? So underappreciated.
  12. It'd be easier if you overlayed it using a shot of the sky minus the plane and stand. Just keep your camera in the same position. Or just throw the VF-0 into the air.
  13. We should have a 'throw out your collection' competition. It will make grown men weep.
  14. You might wanna post some pics then, cause the 1/72 gerwalk is just fine since the knee movement is better. Detaching the intakes is a little bit of a cop out. You can do that to achieve better A poses on many toys, but to achieve forward bent legs is a different matter altogether.
  15. Keep it at 1/2000. I know I complained, but I would like to eventually get around to purchasing a large detailed SDF replica. They may not have space in Japan, but there's plenty in Canada. The only issue is the cost...
  16. Yea I live in Vancouver too... Hoping my next shipments will arrive duty free. So far I've had good luck though.
  17. Just shipping protection. You can remove it and still transform fine.
  18. Uh, not to get on your case, but I'm pretty sure the armored VF-25F carried the sniper rifle single handedly while wielding the standard gunpod in the other hand. the VF-2SS still looks terrible, but for other reasons.
  19. I don't think he's going to appreciate the much finer level of detail on the GNUs, and I bet he's going to be rougher on them, so I'd go with Revoltechs. Cheaper to replace, click joints are harder to wear down, very posable and works well as 2 minute hand candy, and he can even toss it around without fear of breaking the PVC. Also more accessories to mess around with. That's if he's going to be okay with a non-transformable. Otherwise go with a chunky monkey. A toynami 1/100 if you're not willing to pay that much (although they're still rather expensive for what they are... and less durable too).
  20. I really love that VF-25f armored, but unfortunately I already bought a plain VF-25F, so I'll get the armored for it through standalone or not at all. =/. Why doesn't Ozma get his own sniper rifle On a side note, I'm considering how to paint the inside of the sniper rifle on my VF-25G. I notice in the above Armored Alto pics that its a pale green, whereas for Michael its a yellow-green. And applying the paint to the inside is a real pain. I'm really seeing careful edge masking and airbrushing as the only viable method, but it still seems like its a tall order to get the paint job right. Any tips?
  21. Aw, thats disappointing. Cathy decals > shery/ranka decals. I wonder if they are going to release the Armored pack standalone in a similar way to the Super pack where it had decals/stickers for all 4 (or at least 2) fighters. I guess they don't have to, considering how greatly demanded the full sets are >_> Btw, with the missile doors opening in the manner mentioned above, doesn't it seem like it could potentially slap Ozma right in the face if he looked in any direction but directly forward? >_>
  22. So wait, is the kit already out and ready to ship? Or are people just being charged for it and waiting on the suppliers to get their orders in? Im confused T_T Edit: Wait... HwJapan says 'in stock'....
  23. I don't think its green, its just a little light coming off the dark grey. But whats up with the forward chest plate hinge that is colored in red? I don't think thats right. I hope they fix that by release.
  24. Mid June release... Someone post something when its actually out. I have a friend swinging by Japan who might grab it for me I noticed in the HobbySearch pictures that there were no Cathy Glass decals T_T Maybe the suppliers will throw it in the box afterwards. Also on the last 3 pictures, the Assembly guide has some parts crossed out. Are those parts basically unnecessary and to be removed if equipping the armored packs? o_o
