  1. Here lemme cut a huge chunk of the wings off so it'll fit. Wait. No, I'm not doing that. =P Get the Hasegawa version if you want to sweep the wings back.
  2. What about the QC on the 25G gun? >_> Its oversized and very poorly glued.
  3. Hey Micky, not to steal your thread or anything, but I wanted to post a few pictures, even though I have a terrible camera, of some of the work that I've done thus far, mostly inspired by your experiences written here. I basically painted every single piece for this build, and took a little bit of liberty in my choices of color. I darkened and flattened the standard blue of the 25G, and then coated it twice (thus far) with a mixture of Tamiya Flat Base and Future. Fins, painted this time. Was a pain. I work in a pretty messy area, so I need to find a better way to cover my projects overnight.. As you can see, dust and white speckles eventually stick back to the fins. Although its not permanent, I still have to dust off everything before working on it again the next day. I recolored the entire gunpod in a mix of flat black and gun metal and coated it thrice with a flat clear coat. Its pretty stiff in the joints now, which is good, since it holds in poses great now. I still plan to dismantle it and paint the inner tines a green-yellow. I also plan to not use the pinkish decals that are provided, and instead paint a new red color in their place. The pink just doesnt go well with the black of the gun. On the front of the instruction manual, you can see that the front tines are green, but the rear ones are not painted at all. While I think that the show did not have hollowed out rear tines like the model kit does, I would like to at least match the show's color. At some point, I would also like to paint in the lens on the end of the scope of the rifle. I painted the thrusters in a metallic grey, applied a semi-gloss coat, then brushed on a rough flat soot-like layer of flat black and gun metal around the rear edges. Here I followed what you did, and masked and repainted the underbelly sections blue/white. Off to the right, you'll notice that I repainted the darker blue pieces as well. Everything will be recoated with at least two more layers of flat clear coat. Its already very flat, although the pics dont show that well, but I'm concerned about the decals rubbing off like they did on my 25F. Edit: Gah. I dunno how to make the preview here smaller. >_<

    YF-25

    This is a model kit.
  5. Godammit. I should have waited when purchasing the VF-25G. =/.
  6. Show or game or whatever, the VB-6 they have here just doesn't look as imposing as I remember it to be. I'm passing on this one. I'd rather get a DX Macross Quarter if I want something that looks bad ass.
  7. Speaking of armors... Was it MW4 that had reactive vs reflective armor choices? Or maybe MechCommander... Anyway, you werent restricted to ferro-fib that you were in the rest of the series.
  8. Its just as inaccurate as the Yammie VB-6. It may be more posable though... But you're probably trading off battroid mode for it. Regardless, the shuttle mode is alright, but I could care less about Battroid. However, gerwalk NEEDS TO BE DONE RIGHT. Forget everything else, and just make ACCURATE GERWALK. Done. Sold like hotcakes. In fact, I think I'd pay for just an accurate static pose 1/100 scale Konig in Gerwalk.
  9. Uhh... I still see the upper thigh carving that Yamato does on the VF-19 here. I figure though that the partsforming will be a. less than the amount of partsforming in the VF-25, and b. they won't partsform the legs. That probably means you're still going to get the leg inaccuracies.
  10. Sins is kinda boring imo. HW2 was much better.
  11. Wtf? The VF-100 VF-25F armored looked GREAT in the prototype pics. That matte dark grey finish on the armor was perfect. Was that the lighting, or did they mess up something that wasnt broken?
  12. I like the VB-6 and all, but doesn't it seem like the feet are a little small relative to the torso? And the cannons arent quite as wide as I thought them to be. Looks a little different from this Nevermind, some comparing between the pics and the RD VB-6 looks completely different. The frontal knees are completely different, and the hind portion is different too. The torso is indeed too big, and the cannons are too small and short. Even the side turbines on the torso are misplaced and too small. This can either be for the sake of Bandai's kid-friendly philosophy, or the necessity to make it transformable, but it sure as hell isn't accurate. Ugh. Someone make a gerwalk only VB-6 or HWR already =/.

    Macross Vinyl Toy!

Wow I gotta say... I can accept the Battroid mode, but fighter and gerwalk look like a mess.
  14. Lol. Petes right about that. They fit the character. Actually, it'd fit him better as hot pink. I thought they were going to at least make a slight modification to the super to beef it up its ordinance a little in comparison to the armored. They had a perfect opportunity to screw previous buyers and release an official armor set variant.
  15. Santa would have declared bankruptcy if he had to give out macross toys every year to demanding collectors like us.
  16. Looks like shoulder sag is still a continuous issue. =/. I'm considering if die-casting and bolting the shoulders to a permanently raised position is a fair trade off right now. >_>
  17. Head mounted display. As opposed to HUD. Since its in the helmet and all... And not on the canopy.
  18. That VF-25G... has glittering blue paint. Yuck. I like the VB-6, but lets hope that posability is better than Yamato's huh? Whats the size/scale of it going to be?
  19. Personally, the color scheme of the F looks nicest imo... But I already have a F, and even a G (no armor/super for either). I had no choice but to buy an armored S. I will probably swap the G's gunpod with the S rifle. I like the rifle and all, but I hate the pink-purple decals it has around the tine ports.
  20. Yea I really like this figure. Hopefully it will give more incentive for Yamato and Bandai to produce more cruiser/capital ship molds. Repaints are pretty limited on them, and they cost one hell of a lot... But damn are they awesome. I am a little concerned about the shoulder joints though, so I will be waiting on post-release feedback. Gotta have that gerwalk VB-6 though ^^
  21. It might be just the pics.. But that Alto looks really gummy.
  22. Just a question, eugi... do you try to seal or protect your decals with anything after applying them on your Yammies? I'd put mine on, but Im worried about them getting damaged easily through light handling.
  23. Damn I almost forgot about the NARCs. awesome stuff. I swear they should just do a multiplayer mechwarrior again with a persistent C-Bill count. I know its kinda MMOish, but whats wrong with an MMO battletech anyway? EA canned their version too early. Mechassault was a MW game adapted into a deathmatch shooter. Its nice as a breather away from the more restrictive gritty universe.
  24. Its not xbox exclusive. The recon probes were added as a common element to spice up gameplay. I think they know its not canon.
