  1. You two should probably stop the bitch-fight already before a mod jumps in on it. Just a precaution.
  2. Keep in mind that the DX paint wears down too, so its not really all that different from the decal shredding on the 1/72. You can clear coat both to extend their durabilities. The big difference is that the 1/72 joints will wear down much quicker than the DX after multiple transformations. You will get maybe 10-20 transformations out of it before you start to notice some parts (in addition to joints) beginning to get loose.
  3. I'd hate to live in the buildings next to the engines. Ear protection anyone? Now that's anime magic. =P
  4. ...... Wow... with that much spent on the VF-100's, you coulda just gotten a DX =P
  5. ? It stares into the backpack. The backpack still envelops most of the head. I personally think that the old head position on VF-1s was deemed to be lacking in aerodynamics, so SK moved it to be stored more internally, and flush with the fighter mode body. The rear head lasers seem to be positionable, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mostly computer controlled (M+ YF-19 vs 21). Considering how much forward firepower these planes already have, having a single rear-facing cannon might not be too bad. Remember that in MacZero, Ivanov had to switch to gerwalk mode to fire behind him. What a pain!
  6. I think the closest thing you're going to get lechuck, is the GNU line. Proportionately accurate, moderately posable, sharp crisp detail, lots of joints (upper arm/shoulders usually have 4-5 joints)... Considering the amount of compensation they have to do for the restrictive armor designs, its a good figure. However, it is expensive and has few accessories.

    Yamato Toy TV

Yea I love how she had no idea where to start with the transformation. Lol
  8. Did you not read? The problem was just user error. The heatshields work fine. The foam was not even needed. Sheesh.

  10. HA! I knew it! my good faith tides me over! Props to everyone else who said this was too dumb to be like Yamato =P Anyway, no QC issues, no foam, sturdy heatshield locking, firm joints, first release.................. Oh my God, they did it! Time to order
  11. You can... But I fear for the Yamato joints. Can the VF-11 really hold up the YF-21 in a stable self-supporting fashion? I doubt it.
  12. yea 1/55s are allowed. Its just the 1/48s that are banned! >
  13. You can't recreate the Chaser scene without SOME BOOSTERSSSS Where are the boosters Yamato?!!
  14. Strange. I would think that something that Yamato touted as being a big innovation on their part they would have meticulously checked every inch of it. Im on the side that there is some sort of trick to it, otherwise it's just too dumb to be passed as one of Yamato's usual simple 'oopsie' mistakes.
  15. Sounds like you speak from experience, Mike. =P
  16. Since the heatshield portion isn't 'required' as a part of the transformation... I think it falls into the grey area where it may not actually affect whether or not the toy is PT. Regardless, if Yamato does ever get a built in heatshield system working for the 22, all the better.
  17. Josh seems like he's a little too angry to be doing the review right. His biggest gripe is really that its not as much a partsformer as much as it is a parts-rebuilder. I can sort of see his complaint, but personally, this is the big (and obvious) difference between PT and parts formers, and the 1/100 just is a little more extreme version of that. I don't actually mind the number of parts and the time required to transform it... But rather that the price is quite hefty despite the number of parts swapping (you're paying more for LESS perfect transformation) and that they still didn't even attempt to achieve accuracy despite having partsforming. Like what the hell was even the point if you're not going to make it accurate? >_>
  18. yea a size match up in fighter and battroid to the other 1/60s would be great.
  19. I didn't realise that Bandai's grip on M7 expired and was not renewed. In fact, Graham's post just makes me believe even more so that Yamato does in fact have the new license, although drastically new sculpts may still be a a while away.
  20. I actually very much enjoy the 1/60 YF-19, since its a spectacular rendition of what is an anime magic nightmare. As a kid, when I still had Mac Plus fresh in my memory, I yearned for a YF-19 toy, but was turned away by the 1/72's fat, gap-heavy build. It was basically heart-breaking evidence that my favorite jet fighters could never come into existence. Yet the 1/60 was such a huge leap forward for me that I just had to have it right away. QC issues aside, I think the PT 1/60 was a very impressive representation, and would challenge any toy maker considerably.
  21. I think the 19 Excalibur is coming soon enough, I wouldn't really worry about it. Leave it to Yamato to milk molds, amirite? =P Of course, the Excal also requires a little more painting than the more bland VF-19 does, which was 99% its own natural mold color.
  22. are you kidding? What about Johnny Five??! Robocop! (although thats more cyborg) T-800? Okay that last one depends.
  23. ? Armored Ozma? I only see an Armored Alto.
  24. Locking rings are the best you can get without slipping in thin tiny super magnets. When Yamato gets that down, its all over. Anyway, if they're going to do partsforming, they mind as well make it accurate. This is the right way to go.
