Well seeing as I don't like M7 and I prefer to pretend I never saw it at all, even after repeated viewings, I do remember Max flying the VF-22 against the Protodevilin.....and doing jack squat. Plus Hikaru and Misa vanished into the center of the universe(ie their story is done. SK won't go back to them). We'll never know how they would have matched up in their advanced age.

That's assuming you believe that Max is the better pilot. I will grant you what Max did to save them on Britai's ship was impressive and would take a superior ace to do but if you watch Hikaru vs Kamjin during at least one of their on Earth battles you'll see Max and Hayao get pinned down and ducking for cover, Hikaru actually takes the time to save his squad while still fighting Kamjin off. So who's the better pilot? Max is definitely showcased throughout SDFM and DYRL as the bad ass pilot, but when push comes to shove who do they give the "do or die save all humanity" mission assignments to? That's right, it's Hikaru. Oh and I didn't vote either of them as best pilot.

Because they fired Loebs non-writing-able ass and brought back the guy who was writing Pushing Up Daisies. Brian Fuller I think his name was. Quality of the story went up incredibly and ratings were corresponding. That and they FINALLY stopped pandering to those sycophantic fans on the message boards who wanted emo Peter and wah wah Sylar to be on all the time. Still I missed tonights episode. B-Ball was more important. Bittorrent here I come!!! Loeb got canned and they brought Fuller back near the later 1/2 of the Fugitive storyline. SO much better.

Devils Advocate: I wonder how Milia decided Max was the ace pilot on the Macross. She only went after the Macross to fight the "one ace pilot on the Macross" on Kamjin's word and Kamjin never fought Max he always fought Hikaru.....

What percentage does he say would it have to be because as I said it's easily 10%. I'm thinking more along the lines of 20-25% difference. Starting off the shoulder and elbow joints are different then the Tomahawk. The PPC guns are of a different design then the Tomahawks arm guns. The body is boxier and the cockpit does NOT have the “smiling frog” design of the Tomahawk. The upper legs are different as are the lower legs. The missile launcher appears to be bolted to the body and the search light is on the front of the mech. On the Tomahawk both are mounted by struts to the backpack and are further out from the body. If there are front and side tech drawings I’m positive that you can even tell the differences just comparing the silhouettes of the mechs. I just registered there and told them to fight. I used the above comparison and hopefully they fight and win the use of their Warhammer.

I hope they take HG to court over this. Just rewatched the full HD trailer and the arms and shoulders are designed differently. The chest and cockpit area are definitely boxier then the Tomahawk and the legs are different as well. IMO the difference is easily over 10% which I believe constitutes it as a new design. It's like the TV-SDF1 vs DYRL SDF1.
