  1. I never made a fix for the Bandai, because getting a Bandai valk disassembled to mod is absolute hell. I did make a mod part for the Arcadia YF-19 though. It's still rather difficult to install, because you might have to drill out a pair of screw covers to get the wing gloves apart, but the installation is otherwise very straight-forward. I just replaced the metal swing-arm with a solid plate that lets the wing swing forward and back. I don't know if the site I used can still manufacture them, but I made a couple of sets to test in both laser-cut POM and metal.
  2. Couldn't say yet, I'm waiting until my Kakizaki VF-1A comes in, then I'll see what the shipping options are like. I'm not in a rush to receive anything, so I might wait until normal service resumes if the carrier is sketchy.
  3. I just noticed that there was an August 5th update from Anime Export. They've arranged for a private courier to ship things to the US, so orders from there should be available soon.
  4. I've honestly got no interest in the full combiner, but I am seriously tempted to just get that shuttle on its own. That's probably the best shuttle bot I've seen since the Go-Bot Spay-C.
  5. Congrats, glad you were able to get one!
  6. So, I was shocked to find this, and really glad I didn't miss it. https://www.tf-direct.com/free-shipping-robot-hero-cg-02p-upgrade-set-for-oversized-starscream-p1641.html Apparently they finally came through, and issued the missile/tank pack for the oversized Starscream/Greenscream. They were originally going to be for the full set of Seekers, but were cancelled due to lack of interest back then. I never did get more than that one oversized Seeker, but that was plenty for me to have fun finding space for. I do like that the original MP Seeker is about 1/60 though, it goes nicely with all my Macross stuff.
  7. Yeah, it's always fun playing "guess the photoshop" with product promo pictures. Never can tell which markings are actually really there until someone gets it in-hand.
  8. I'm literally ready to shove money into my screen for Mirage's purple version, but Bandai just doesn't seem interested.
  9. I think it's just a case of following the animation, really. To be entirely fair though, it's not like there isn't a real life precedent either. In days gone by, there would be a bare-metal lip around the intakes, or some other dividing line they could run up against, but that's gone now. On the other hand though, just because something is accurate doesn't mean it isn't aesthetically displeasing. I think the markings just look awkward placed that far back from the edge with nothing else to break up the blank space on the side of the nacelle.
  10. Can also redo the intake warnings in a position that's not so far back on the engine.
  11. Can confirm I got a response out of them, but that hasn't made them any faster to get past the preparation stage thus far. Today's a week since I paid them to upgrade to UPS.
  12. I don't think they were ever the cheapest for Yamato or Arcadia. When the original VF-4G was released, I placed an order for two with them before anyone knew if they would be widely available. I later cancelled that order and went with HLJ, because they were a fair bit cheaper, both on base price, and for shipping.
  13. I very firmly suspect they completely slept through the first SSP order window, or many of us would have received them before there were any shipping restrictions enacted. That's a discussion for the other topic though. At the moment, I'm waiting to see what happens with my Kakizaki orders.
  14. I thought that's Arcadia's usual method though? They always release a standard one before the premium finish releases. Only difference here was that they advertised the PF version beforehand, which, honestly, is something I think a lot of people here wished for, so they wouldn't be suckered into buying the normal version first. The difference here seems to be that they're bumping up the level of their premium finishes to include panel lining, maybe even weathering to push them closer to the recent VF-0D release. Frankly, I was happy with tampos, and have no interest in panel lining and weathering finishes, so if that's the route they take, I'll stick with the standard releases from here on out.
  15. One of Yamato's final releases before closure was the VF-4G... not the one from FB2012, but the gray scheme from one of the VFX video games. It was a pretty heavy sticking point for a lot of people, and it was never really clear why they didn't do Hikaru's FB2012 scheme, but most of the assumptions boiled down to licensing issues. Arcadia re-released that same gray VF-4G as one of their earlier releases, but now they're finally giving everyone the scheme everyone wanted on the VF-4 in the first place.
  16. Oh, good, I'm glad I jumped on it and placed an order with AE early then, the price went up since that listing. Still, their listing was mis-marked, or maybe adjusted afterwards, because the listed price of about $260 came out to more like $280 through Paypal. The yen is almost dead on 100 to a dollar right now, it looks like.
  17. I didn't feel like destroying one to do that, but I did find that if you push the ankles in the right way, they can sort of sink to where the heels don't stick up above the back of bottom of the leg. It re-centers the exhaust a bit lower, and winds up looking pretty passable from most angles.
  18. Those heatsinks can also be linked into a heat exchanger that the fuel runs through, allowing you to pre-heat the fuel before it enters the combustion chamber, which I believe helps with the engine performance/efficiency. There are all sorts of fun ways aircraft deal with excess heat build-up.
  19. Somewhat, but they're keeping the original PSO2 running alongside it. They're upgrading the original game, but adding a separate expansion. Very little will transfer between the two, except character design, and certain fashion items. I think the story of the new one is something like 1000 years after the original storyline of PSO2.
  20. Not to be too morbid, but I keep a spreadsheet with my collection, and their original purchase price, just as a reference point. Personally, if my Macross things were to be sold off, I'd like to stipulate that they go to someone here without whatever it is first, and at retail price. Rather spread the joy than make a profit. Even the retail total is a fairly chunky sum.
  21. Good, I -wanted- the plain version. Glad to see it's happening! I want to see if I can order it somewhere where I don't need to pre-pay though.
  22. I only picked up one of the Robot Heroes releases, the original Greenscream colors, since I really just love the pseudo-real F-15 scheme. I don't know how subsequent releases might be, since I picked mine up pretty early, but the one I have is rock solid. It's slightly larger than 1/48 scale actually, by maybe half an inch in length (close enough for me), and they made a bunch of improvements to the original mold that really work well. The only minor disappointment I had with it was that they wound up cancelling their add-on pack that would have included the dual sidewinder pylons, and external fuel tanks. Those would be pretty easy to just source from a 1/48 model kit though, so I wasn't too upset.
  23. That's actually one thing the 1/1000 kits are very good for: swooshing. They're small enough I can set one under my computer monitor, and just pick it up casually to zoom around as a work break. The set of all 7 Enterprises is good for that as well, at least size-wise. I don't know how much I would want to handle them with all the massive decals covering them.
  24. I'm a glutton for punishment, so I have those, plus a matching Reliant to build. The notes I have on the 1/1000 Refit are a few pages back, where I had to do minor surgery to get the pylons aligned, but it's a very nice little kit. One thing to keep in mind is that you should never trust a snap-fit transparent part. They oversize the snaps, and I've managed to crack both the deflector and one nacelle grille because they just didn't fit. Trim the triangular latches off the parts before attaching them, and you should be golden. Frankly, there's no reason for them to even be transparent in this scale, so I'm just going to paint them anyway.
  25. Ok, as much as I want a newer/better Starscream mold, what in the blue blazes is going on with those giant hinges on the leading edge of the wings? I would be thrilled to see them fold the tails and stabs up against the backs of the wings like some of the smaller Seeker 3rd party molds have done, but... I can't see that looking passable in alt mode at all. Though, I'm an outlier who thought the later modifications to the original Greenscream mold were some of the best ones they ever produced... just needed to keep the Kawamori-style legs with the later lack of FAST packs and the sliding tail sections.
