you know, it actually would have been real poetic if YAMATO would've managed to squeeze out a YF-19 1/60v.II as their swan song, kind of coming full circle like... (( Yammie beginning operations as they did with their first product being the 1/72 YF-19, and ceasing them with a 1/60v.II iteration of the same ))

you're a dear, veef. if this was the only issue with my own YF-19, then i'd be all over this like white on rice. all being equal, the Yammie 19S has spoiled me so bad that i guess i'm really not missing the older 19 variant near as much as i figured i might. at any rate, it's all good...

to a fair bit of massaging you can get some decent poses, just nothing quite like what you can achieve with the 19k/S/F/P...

they are lightly glued into place. if you have something (like a long fingernail) that you can wedge underneath the top leading edge, you should be able to pop the panel free with a little effort. careful though; unlike the 19k, the 19S' covers are fully painted, and the finish is easy to chip along those edges you need to apply leverage to, even with a simple fingernail... also, i'm starting to believe that your 19S' defect was in fact unique. my own 19S has been through at least 20+ transformations since i received it, and nothing has broke or shown any signs of doing so...

you can get an okay neutral stance out of the 1/60 YF-19 BATTROID by angling the GERWALK thigh joints out a notch; - it sure does end up looking mighty sad beside the 1/60 19k/S/F/P all the same...

i didn't like the shield popping off during transformations, nor did i care for Anime Accuracy in the shield at all, so i just superglued my P.TRANSFORMATION shield in place. i tried the neck and thigh cover parts just once, but i never tried the Anime Accurate shield unit at all. swappable parts, however optional, just don't rub me well. they harken too far back to bad memories of the dark days of Parts Forming MACROSS toys/models...

well the 19S definitely ties with the 1/60v.II VF-1 as all time greatest MACROSS toy, in my personal book... 19 series GERWALK is A-OK IMHO, and the 1/60 VF-19k/S/F/P does the mode fine justice AFAIAC...

yeah, i like it in all it's forms... so i'm transforming mine all the damned time. such an amazing transformation, i cannot seem to get enough if it! no doubt my 19S will be the very first on the boards to wear out...

it does, but getting the hang of it (via numerous transformations) allows for a surprisingly quick and painless process. you just gotta know where and how to put pressure. take some time to study and understand the mechanism; it'll be second nature in no time flat. also, this baby is indeed a ROCK. it's no 1/55, but it sure is the closest YAMATO ever came to chunky-monkey sturdiness...

it's the self-centered, superficial demeanor she continuously conveys in the latter eps of SDFM that burns everybody's biscuits, i believe. it's only quite realistic, however, and pretty much exactly what ends up happening with most musicians, especially at star level it just goes with the territory, pretty much, like an egocentric lead-guitar/vocalist of a rock band, for one example. granted not everyone out there in show business turns out that way as a strict matter of course, just most of them. like i said, SDFM was only being brutally realistic...

i don't really care for MAC 7 at all, but it's -19S and -11C are among my top favorite Valks all the same...

i've had what i feel to be reasonable success with the labels on my own 19S; - they do indeed stick out rather awkwardly, borders and all, but if that is this valks' worst sin, color me impressed all the same. it does seem regrettable that YAMATO didn't opt for gloss finish labels, but if the rampant peeling/separation of the gloss labels provided with the old 1/72 MAC + examples were any indicator of inherent issues with such labels, than i can see where Yammie was coming from with their final choices. all the same, mounting of the Gunpod in FIGHTER does indeed suck the big one, the only true design flaw, IMHO...
