  1. Much like a Thompson M1A1 & Thompson M1928 SMG look very similar they are also quite different, same goes for the Macross. Structurally the TV SDF-1 is a simpler design, larger bridge, Shoulders & cannons, less boosters and the legs have far less details and compartments while the DYRL version is a more rugged design and smaller bridge which IMO makes this SDF-1 appear bigger, legs have window compartments where the city is located, shoulders & railguns are upgraded too. The feet are a bit different and thrusters as well between the two ships. Main guns definitely vary in design, As a Macross purist, I'm not a fan of the TV SDF-1 with the ARMD's attached... its one or the other for me.
  2. Pre-ordered mine from HLJ last night, can't wait!! I think if sales are really good for this kit, Hasegawa will make a TV version as well.
  3. Thank you! For the last few years I considered making my own helmet or having a master sculptor make me a correct Zero style helmet, but scratch building isn't my thing and having it custom made was REALLY expensive. So I figured I use this Flight Helmet for now (despite it being a DYRL model) and it will look great with my Zero flight suit! As for covering up the screws, I found some various caps at Home Depot but haven't tried them yet, if they work I'll post some pics!
  4. Thanks Jason, its been a fun project so far. Mostly just a lot of sanding, primer and then flat gray, masking off the Visor & red arrows was the trickiest part. When I got my helmet it was just gloss white with a black visor. Will look like Shin Kudos Mac Zero helmet when completed.
  5. That is one of the most detailed builds I've seen in a long time, amazing job MT!
  6. Thanks MT!! It's going to look like Shin Kudos Mac Zero helmet when completed.
  7. One step closer to finishing my helmet, Lightning bolts and a green Visor Shield then I'm done!
  8. It was actually 75 degrees & dry today, a perfect day for work on my Helmet. One step closer, Lightning bolts are next!
  9. https://www.yahoo.com/movies/jupiter-ascending-debuts-to-muted-crowd-at-109411922652.html Sounds like there was pretty much no love for this movie at the Sundance Film festival.
  10. Overall I really enjoyed the movie and the cast was superb, Michael Keaton is such a great actor, Ed Norton was awesome!
  11. Thanks guys! The background is actually my workout mat. Now that I own one, I really wish the VF-11B & C weren't so bloody expensive or I'd buy multiples!
  12. Who has access to the Hubble?
  13. I now own a Yamato 1/60 VF-11B and I love it!! Thanks to MW member davidwhangchoi for the awesome deal!!
  14. You are a Master of model making/modifications and you're making my baby the VF-2SS look even better!!
  15. Does anyone sell a Rounded Visor like that but tinted Green? Same shade as Roy's Helmet from Zero.
  16. .... How is there still money to fund this train wreck?
  17. EXO: Anytime! I thought it was a good start and above all the acting was very good. Loved the watch scene. Anime: If they made sure to point out Cassandra bought new clothes for Cole with the price tag still on, we might get real details on how the Time-machine works.... hopefully. Keith: I love the original movie, but so far this series is off to a good start, give it a shot!
  18. Anyone here watch 12 Monkeys tonight? For a SyFy series, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
  19. I have this urge to buy two VF-25's with Fast packs & Tornado packs & stands all of a sudden...

    YF-21

Congrats on the new house & this superb build cool8or!!! You've reminded me again why the YF-21 is my favorite Valkyrie!!
  21. Packing paper, foam-peanuts, bubble wrap, news paper or even thin craft paper would solve this issue. I sell WWI & WWII Helmets around the world for museums & collectors and while those helmets are made of solid steel, I still securely pack them up good & snug. This however is fairly fragile plastic sent with a thin cloth cover as its only padding, while materials like new paper do add some weight it works & is better than nothing.
