  1. PF is growing on me. But needs some work still.
  2. Waiting months after release in the hopes of HLJ securing more stock is quite a gamble lol

They're decent for what they are: cheap alternatives to the much more expensive 1/60 lines. It's like the difference between a gunpla HGUC kit and a MG kit. Don't expect one to be as good as the other and you won't be disappointed.
  4. HLJ already collected payment and is in my private warehouse ready to ship. So I'm pretty sure it's legit and not a listing error.
  5. OMG that looks freaking amazing! Switching to another Disney property: Tony's final armor arrived!
  6. Still available as I type this.
  7. It's brighter than the VF-0A. It's that slightly greyish "mecha white" you find on a lot of gunpla kits. Not pure white.
  8. I thinking it's a bit neater than the 0D *BUT* the 0D benefits from the weathering finish so its not nearly as noticeable. With that in mind I plan on making my regular edition the clean & shiny one from the anime and I'll add something to the PF so the paneling doesn't look so stark against the white.
  9. Soon enough... after I finish the FB2012 version.
  10. Let's see the final product!
  11. Touched up the VF-4G a bit to make it a little less plain.
  12. That is an amazing haul! Also, you look like you should be in your lab working on your army of super powered androids to take over the world with.
  13. Yeah, applying decals to toys is no different from models. A lot of toys don't have a glossy finish (thank goodness!) so mark setter and softer are a must if you want them secure and to avoid silvering, which really takes away from the painted-on look you want to achieve. I see what you did there! Looking good though!
  14. Even surface shipping from FJ was about 6k for 2 units. So even that option was rather steep. I'll wait a bit and see if HLJ or someone else carries it. Hopefully by the release date the pandemic will have subsided enough for Japan Post to resume shipping to the States. And I can travel to Japan and pick up my 1D in person.
  15. Any 0.3 mm mechanical pencil and lead will do. https://www.hlj.com/gundam-marker-mechanical-pencil-sharp-0-3mm-gnzgp01 https://www.hlj.com/gundam-marker-mechanical-pencil-sharp-replacement-gnzgp02 Note that even 0.3mm is too fat for my purposes, and I further sharpen the tip by rubbing it on a piece of paper first, and I clean up any excess lead with a moistened Q-tip. Gotta keep those lines as clean and sharp as possible.
  16. That looks about right. As a suggestion, if you include the rescue arrows and ejection seat warnings, that would make it good for the VF-4G too, since they share almost all the same markings. I'm in for several sheets regardless, but just throwing that out there. Where the heck does 32 go? They look like slime lights but I've never seen where those are supposed to be on the VF-4.
  17. Oh wow, you built that yourself too? Fantastic!
  18. Nah, I didn't add anything other than the panel lines on the regular edition. Perhaps this would be a more fair comparison:
  19. I think so, though I bought 2x units, which offset the costs and ended up being a wash. I'm only going to get one YF-19, so unless the HLJ mark-up is way higher than 4 or 5k, it'll probably be better to order from them. If they even carry it.
  20. Maybe with the HLJ discount coupon I have plus cheaper shipping it might come out a little cheaper even with HLJ's mark-up... maybe...
  21. Haha thanks. But it's not a fair comparison to compare my slow, careful handiwork to some factory employees who have to mass produce them. And the color of the lines are actually dark grey and not black, and it's not as stark in person as it appears in photos. Certainly much darker than mine, which was made with pencil lead and concrete wash (which is a much lighter grey). Arcadia probably used something like this for the panels: https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/enamel-detail/panel-line-accent-color-6/dark-gray/ Yes, many of the markings are NO STEP and DANGER and other such generic aircraft markings. Ohhh I'm looking forward to seeing them! As mentioned above, there's a lot of various warning markings all over the craft that make it more like a real world aircraft. It does say MEGAROAD-01 on the lower stabilizers and there's the reaction generator markings as well. See @tekering's earlier photos to see all the various markings. Yes, it looks pretty good in hand, especially if you don't have a carefully hand-lined unit to compare it to.
