After dealing with the Frontier kits, I have no desire to ever touch another Bandai 1/72 kit. I have way more money than time (or patience) these days. I did preorder a Hayate 31 kit, but I'm pretty much snapping that one together out of the box. It's really just to familiarize myself with the transformation and tide me over till the DX toys arrive.

Flour and water? Okay, Mr Millionaire! Having seen the episode, I like the new packs. I'm going to need 2 of each unit at least, because while the new packs look good, they really hide all the lovely curves on the 31,which I also like. I'll just get my meals down at the homeless shelter.

You don't want to see VF-31 pics or pics of its armaments? That's what this thread is for. Remember kids, buy those web exclusive armor parts now or pay $300+ for them later!

Though there's some room for interpretation, I would only consider it a spoiler if details of the plot/narrative are revealed. From Wikipedia: "A spoiler is an element of a disseminated summary or description of any piece of fiction that reveals any plot elements which threaten to give away important details concerning the turn of events of a dramatic episode. Typically, the details of the conclusion of the plot, including the climax and ending, are especially regarded as spoiler material. It can also be used to refer to any piece of information regarding any part of a given media that a potential consumer would not want to know beforehand. Because enjoyment of fiction depends a great deal upon the suspense of revealing plot details through standard narrative progression, the prior revelation of how things will turn out can "spoil" the enjoyment that some consumers of the narrative would otherwise have experienced. Spoilers can be found in message boards, articles, reviews, commercials, and movie trailers." So pictures of the VF-31 with super parts on the flight deck wouldn't be spoiler, but pics of, say, the wreckage of Hayate's 31 floating in space would be. And no I haven't seen the episode yet; that's just a hypothetical.

Roy's 1S is the first HMR toy I've actually felt the urge to detail up. After seeing Damon's custom, I think I will... eventually.
-
At this point, $250 to $300 for the VF-25 armor parts is probably the lowest you'll find. Or build a time machine and travel back to the distant past of 2012.
-
Clearly a primer on what constitutes a "spoiler" is needed for some people. I like the way the 31 looks with super parts. Oh dear god it's going to be like Frontier again where I have to buy multiples of every valk for every configuration.

It looks okay. Though you'll probably need some good airbrushing skills to make it look really nice. As Focker said, not really fair to compare a tiny 1/20 plastic kit to a larger prepainted figure.
-
You need an airbrush and actual skill with it to make it look like the 'after' picture. In this day and age of high quality prepainted anime figures, this seems a bizarre item somewhere between garage kit and completed figure.

For me, the sculpt is terrible. Doesn't look anything like Minmay. Much worse than all the off-face Sheryls we've gotten over the years. And that facial expression looks less like singing and more like she's having her temperature taken rectally. Now at the time the figure came out (2008) it would have been an average quality figure. And it had a retail price of only 4500 yen. So it was a decent buy for the time. Though absolutely not worth the current outrageous aftermarket prices. And definitely can't compare to today's releases, but I don't really expect it to. Megahouse would come out with their Sheryl and Ranka figures a year later, and those were far and away superior to the CM Minmay. They still look great even compared to today's figures.

Just received my Roy 1S. So many boxes to get to such a little toy!

Passed on the CM Minmay many times. I think it's a horrendous looking figure by today's figure standards. Best Minmay figure out there? Probably. A great figure in general? Uhhh... Come on Megahouse, give us a better Minmay!
