I agree. This thing is a pile of crap that belongs in the early 2000s. I'm going to order a VF-2SS instead!

If you guys think this armor is fat, just imagine how really fat it would've been if Yamato had released a set on their 0S.
-
Bought it. I have a spare gunpod from a broken VF-1A so it's all good.

Unlike riding a roller coaster, serving in the UN Spacy does not have a minimum height requirement. -
If previous releases are any indication, then the proper VF-1 attachment will be bundled together with the future HMR Queadluun-Rau release.

VF-4G is still available at some retailers as of this writing. YF-30 is long sold out and aftermarket prices are getting pretty high. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10354770

Gojira vs King Kong? Gojira is 400 feet tall, King Kong is 40.

I too am curious about what kind of expectations you had that you'd be disappointed by the Arcadia VF-1, which is the same as the Yamato VF-1, and is one of the finest valkyrie toys ever made, IMO.

Are the Alpha stands going to be back in stock soon? Need more stands!

Is that the metal composite Gundam?

Yes, may the great wind blow on all of us on PO day.

I hope Messer is next. He has the coolest looking 31. Hope it comes with a swappable canopy...

I think the one on the right is a Zentradi who spent a little too long in the miclone chamber. Must be Klan's grandfather.

Yeah it really does feel like Kawamori wrote this show while being held at gunpoint by a Bandai representative. But I'm a consumer whore so bring on the merchandise~

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

I'm with you on that! Going from 1/60 to HMR valks is a big step down. If you have the 1/60 versions already, then you're not missing anything from the HMR valks, except the joy of parts swapping. Everyone loves parts swapping, right? Said no one ever. If it weren't for the non-valk releases, I'd have skipped this line altogether. Just like I did the first time around, before they added the R. -
Mr Topcoat. I usually use lacquer but since I used stickers for the big stuff, I didn't need the extra protection. I just wanted a uniform finish throughout. I applied the topcoat on entire sections at a time. Like the entire front fuselage, body, wings, arms, legs, hands, etc. Like this would be coated all at one time:

Here ya go. Mine are okay, but a few others on here have done much better. But at least it kinda sorta resembles Hayate and Freyja.

Goddamn HLJ's crappy system. I only checked out once, but I received 3 confirmation emails, all with identical timestamps. When I tried to log in to make sure that I didn't have duplicate orders and cancel any if I did, I get an account suspension message. No I did not hammer the checkout button repeatedly. I've done enough preorder madness nights to know to hit the button only once and wait. Emailed HLJ customer service ugh

Doubtful. The Arcadia VF-0 is a completely new sculpt with different proportions (most notably the chest) from the Yamato version.

No way, I don't have the skill to paint all that! lol Didn't do anything special, really. Cut carefully and sand everything down (god I hate sanding!). It was mainly just snapped together out of the box. Stickers for the huge colored areas, decals for all the insignias and small markings. Wash + mechanical pencil for the panels. A few areas were painted because it's not quite possible to mold or decal every single thing in the right color. And a semi-gloss clear coat to give the whole thing an even finish thoughout. The upper stabilizers needed to be glued into the main fuselage, because that snap-together joint simply will not hold together. I don't plan putting nearly as much effort into Keith's 262. But no more stickers! I had a way harder time dealing with the stickers than I would've had with any decals. Decals are sooooo much easier once you're used to them! I'll transform it to battroid as soon as I figure out what color I'm supposed to paint the inside of that opening sensor thingy in the weapons container...
