    Hey I remember watching that on TV decades ago. All I really remember is that they got their asses kicked all the goddamn time by every opponent they ever faced. Basically Delta Squadron before Macross Delta. Ordered one anyway because the armor looks cool.

    For pilots that won't stay in their seat during, uh, evasive maneuvers, I just put a tiny chunk of blue tack on their butt before sticking them in the cockpit. Keeps them nice and secure in their seat.

    All the landing gear bay doors are completely removable, so it does make masking the bays much easier.

    I use Tamiya surface primer, which can be used on metal.

    I just mask the landing gear bays and spray them. No way around it. Bandai makes it impossible to disassemble them otherwise it would be really easy to just deal with the metal landing gear by itself.

    Rei was more a plot device than a character to me. But yeah, it's hard to be invested in anything that happens when you simply do not care what happens to any of the characters.

    1/48s are so big... can barely fit two fighters into 2x FEXT hangars.

    Rarely have I ever seen an anime with such a cast that was not only unlikable, but where I actively loathed every character on the show and wanted them all to die horribly and be replaced by a better cast of characters. Such a stupid and pretentious show. It was the Matrix sequels before the Matrix came out. As one reviewer put it: "It's not art house animation; it's outhouse animation." Skipped MP-44 because of the price and not being much in TF, but I hear MP-44 has some issues? When in doubt and don't want to spend a lot of money on something like a hangar, just a plain, unobtrusive backdrop will do for photos. LMAO!

    Alright I think I'm done opening and fiddling with new toys for one evening.

    New toy opening day for me, it seems. Finally opened up my MC Char's Zaku. Another fantastic toy, but holy crap my Pixel just could not handle the shade of red on this thing! The raw picture had a strong yellow-orange tint to it, and I had to do a lot of color tweaking in Photoshop to get even remotely acceptable shades of red. The real is an even deeper shade of red than what I have here. Still, love this thing!

    Now I'm really looking forward to Unit 02 as I think it looks better than 01. Hope Bluefin doesn't screw us over! Hip joints aren't super tight but not really loose either. At least not any worse than any of my MB Gundams, so far.

    Got around to opening my MB Eva 01. I never liked the show, but hot damn the MB is an amazing toy!

    I also often don't open stuff immediately when it arrives at my door. I have 2x sets of 31 armors that have yet to be opened, among other things. Still haven't opened my 19Fs or 17Ds yet. I bought the 19s in 2017. I do make a point to open and check the DX VF-1s immediately now after getting Bandai'ed on one of my 1J s. Same with Arcadia, after the 0 leg debacle.
