  1. There are dimensions posted in the model kits forum: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41381 I placed my preorder too. This will be my first SDF-1, and that makes me very excited. I hope this sells well for them.
  2. I like it. And I'm looking forward to the painted models. Has Megahouse given any hint as to the scale of this Orguss?
  3. The flight suit has a new design. Here are some cropped pics from hobbysearch: Edit: Too slow for Falcon18. DYRL Roy TV Roy Edit2: The oldest DYRL Valkyrie I own is my Roy VF-1S, which I bought back in 2008 from valkyrie-exchange.com . It has been in and out in the open air plenty of times over the years and I haven't noticed any yellowing or old brown glue. Unfortunately, I have not been lucky with shoulders on the 'unsafe' v2 Valkyries. My Yamato 1S Roy and the one Hikaru 1A the I own finally developed cracked shoulders.
  4. For both white and off-white Valkyries, old glue may add a spot of color to the seams: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41425&hl=brown
  5. Battle 7 or the VF-11MAXL (with a VF-11C reissue for the naysayers). Yeah, I choose the MAXL.
  6. Yes, it is excellent news. Here's the original thread for reference: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36316&hl=%20shapeways%20%20shoulders&page=1 All props should be directed to VF5SS. Alas, while messing around with things after work today I noticed another "arm" problem: That hard rubber(?) socket should be smooth inside. Instead, this one is rotting/disintegrating and creating a mess. Is there anything that might recondition the piece? If not, I'll need to find a spare arm for parts or buy one of those unpainted kits...
  7. The first rule of the forever club is that nobody talks about the forever club.
  8. Thanks, CoreyD. I"m relieved that I didn't miss anything obvious. Update: It looks like I don't have to sand the pieces flat. I broke down another Valkyrie at lunch to take a look at the working mechanism. And joy! The good VF-1 shows an angle when the arms are set in fighter mode: Then the shapeways replacements have this angle built in? That's some clever engineering. I do still need to sand a little bit, though, because the ball joint is a little large on my replacement pieces. It doesn't sit into the seat of the shoulder completely. But that is minor. I was thinking that I had an unlucky batch.
  9. One of my older v2 1/60 VF-1 Valkyries has succumbed to the well-documented blown shoulder issue. It was very easy to break down, though, and remove the affected parts to modify the pin and make it "safe" again. I bought some shapeways replacement parts, but I am running into some surprising fitment issues. My original order used white strong & flexible polished nylon plastic. Here's what I'm seeing: This angle shot shows how the shapeways pieces do not sit flush: Here is a shot from above next to the old cracked hinge: This shot shows the shapeways piece with the pin I was wondering, is this within the normal margin of error? Or might it be due to the polished material? My whole order arrived this way, so I was going to try sanding the flats to try and get a better fit. But the extra thickness of material at the hinge concerns me. I may end up placing another order and skip the polished nylon plastic. Any other thoughts?
  10. Thanks, Gakken! Wow. I haven't had a chance to look over my MP-08X. I'll make sure to check for this issue carefully. On Hasbro's MP Optimus: I agree with Valkyrie2008. Even though it is a Hasbro Asia reissue, aftermarket prices are still high. For example, here is an ebay auction that sold this weekend (US Seller): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hasbro-Transformers-Optimus-Prime-Masterpiece-MP-10-TRU-exclusive-/121407565808?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item1c44746ff0 I'm tempted to pick this one up again. Hasbro US may reissue Optimus some day, but getting one now at $100 less than the ebay asking price is pretty good. I think I'll try TFSource again and see how that goes. Then I can use the money I save on shipping to pick up some Reprolabels for the trailer.
  11. Mine arrived too---slow but steady shipping--- and it looks fantastic.
  12. I'm speculating, given the titles, but it would be fun if a couple of the episodes reunite the Doctor with familiar secondary characters from past series and specials. Exciting stuff.
  13. A pop-up gimmick with magnets to mimic the scene from the movie? If done well, I could be swayed. At the bare minimum, I just want a better rendition of Hot Rod. Get him in scale, give him more detail and a rounder head sculpt.
  14. Only the title was changed: Star Blazers vs Space Battleship Yamato. The English subtitles are exactly the same: http://ourstarblazers.com/vault/823/ And one amazon.com reviewer also confirms it: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Blazers-BLURAY-Limited-Edition/dp/B00IZMQD8I It's definitely worth it if you skipped the import release. And if you order from starblazers.com, there is a chance to get some neat bonus items.
  15. I would love to see an in-MP10-scale Hot Rod without MP-09's Rodimus gimmick. And I agree that releasing Sunstorm was a mistake. Hasbro would have done better to hold off on Sunstorm and release Starscream or Skywarp instead. Releasing Sunstorm could have waited until next year AND it should have been a direct import of the Takara version without messing with the paint apps.
  16. Thank you for posting the teaser, F-ZeroOne. I'm looking forward to Mr. Capaldi's performance too. The wait is almost over!
  17. A bit of comic book history is up for bid: http://www.ebay.com/itm/311050328393 The posted images look incredible. The 'origin story' of how this copy came to light is also very interesting.
  18. Mine shipped by economy air and is still in transit. I expect the post office will have something for me Monday or Tuesday.
  19. Three! Three is a very good number to start if you can swing it. I wish I went with my gut and picked up a third case when I made the trip to my local store. I think I'll be going again soon.
  20. I've learned to avoid auctions altogether during a panic rush. Bidding wars often inflate prices above reasonable levels. To borrow a real estate term, now is not a buyers market. But there are still ways to find armor parts for less than 2x the retail price of the 25S. I agree that the convenience of buying now still makes these accessories costly, and it stinks. However, I have seen buy it now auctions, Mandarake and MW forum deals for 1.3x to 1.7x the MSRP of a 25S --- "deals" that come and go quickly. Anyway, only you know what is best for you and your wallet. I take no responsibility for instigating sleepless nights and wild goose chases.
  21. Cool. I'm curious to see how this custom piece will work with the SV-51 slot-in pieces. There are three. Although the peg adapter is the same, the slot in pieces are different from the one packaged with the VF-1S stand. I also noticed when trying to exchange parts between the stands that the Yamato peg was a little loose with the Arcadia bits and the Arcadia peg was a little tight on two of the Yamato pieces.
  22. Nice. I notice that you have changed the design of the peg slightly. How is the fit?
  23. That auction could have been a real deal, but it was up for 9 days and the bidding war began on day 2! I walked early. Oh well... For those who don't have armor parts, it's the new 'must have' item.
