Ahh, my first all-time favourite anime. Guyver was the show that really got me into it, but Orgun, Dominion Tank Police, and Wind Named Amnesia are the true source of my mid-late 90s anime binge. I still think about writing a novella based on Orgun's premise to this day... Also, I second that vote for Information High from Mac+. I vote Mac+ as one of the greatest animated movies of the Golden Age of Anime era.

That's a given. My dilemma is which do I play first? Which one do I consider to be my personal canon story and the rest as interesting what-ifs? Choices, choices...

The computer and electronics super geek thread

I'm looking to turn my PC into a PVR when I get my high-def channels hooked up (tomorrow, yay!). I've got 300 unused gigs of HD space, so that's not an issue, but what sort of video card should I be looking at that'll accept an HD-in? -
I wouldn't be so sure about no ME4. Ever since EA bought BioWare they've been talking about the Mass Effect franchise, not just the trilogy. The next games might not be centred around Commander Shepard, but... Personally, I'd love a game starring David Anderson. I've really loved his character since I saw him headbutt a turian in the forehead in ME1 Me? I have another problem. I just started a newgame+ in ME2 and I'm liking the choices I've made so far in this one as much as I did the first time around. This leaves me with the ultimate dilemma: which savefile do I use to carry over into my first ME3 game?

What did people think of the Collector's Edition special disc? I thought the Making-Of was woeful garbage and a complete waste of money. The artbook was nice but too small and too short. All in all, not worth the extra money they charged for it.

I thought that wasn't possible on the internet? Especially mulitplayer games...

Uh... it's from a... something-or-other. Not a blog, but I think it may have been in Revelations. I just checked the ME Wiki and there's no mention of it in there, but the spelling convention is there: Protheans are capitalized; humans, geth, hanar are not.
-
Well, consider yourself called. Paged by Yeoman Kelly, even Actually, it's because of the Protheans that the rule is there. As far as galactic society is concerned, the Protheans are responsible for the mass relays, the Citadel, and therefore all the advanced technology that makes modern life possible. It's due to reverence and recognition of their enormous contributions that all other species' names are treated as regular nouns and not given a capitalized honourific.
-
What reference? I couldn't enjoy Apocalypse Now and turned it off.
-
Sicko.
-
About the geth and Tali: EDIT: one more thing, people. There are no capitalized species names other than the Protheans! (and, retroactivally, the Reapers). It's "geth" and "asari" and "elcor"! [/soapbox]

I second this for every MMO possible. EVE Online corps, TOR guilds, etc.

I like Grunt because he's kinda like Wrex (who was awesome) but with a child-like outlook on the world. Wrex was old, beaten, world-weary, and had gotten every tshirt imaginable. Grunt brought a sense of wonderment and amusement to every situation. I especially love his finger quotes

I'll do you one better than that:

Bah. Ashley's the only person in any Mass Effect worth romancing... though I was quite dissapointed I didn't get to romance Miranda (gah, I keep trying to type Morrigan whenever I mean Miranda!). That's why I saved a pre-end-of-Illium savefile and can go back and fix the mistake I made in my first ME2 runthrough. That's why I keep asking, "what will change my import file for ME3?"
-
I'm having terrible visions of having to assemble yet another new team for ME3. I will be terribly, terribly disapointed if that's the case. While I wasn't thrilled with the prospects of a new team for ME2, the game did win me over and made me really appreciate them for the people they are. I have no doubts the talents could do the same for ME3, but the concept is tired and exhausted now. Doing it a third time would just be unorginality at its worst.

How so? Liara was quite young in ME1 by asari standards, just on the cusp of maturity. Her youth is part of the problem her reasearch kept getting passed over by her higher-ups. Two years later...

From the Codex entry regarding Samara's daughter. From a Mass Effect wiki:

I LOVED the voice acting in that dialog. From Tali to the Admiral to ManShep, it all sold the humour and teeth-gnashing history of that name. So very awesome.

Here's a thought about Liara and her apperances in ME2:

I just beat the game now and I have to say: I didn't think anything could top Shepard's climb up the Presidium tower in ME1. I have now been proven wrong in that regard. This would be the best videogame of all time (before or after) if not for a few techincal glitches and annoying tedium. They just knock it down to "best damned game I've ever played" Also, does anyone know how the game knows which profiles to import to the next game? Is it only for savefiles that finished the game/final level? 'cuz I like the way my first playthrough worked out, but I'm gonna go back to some older saves and make other choices. Will doing that change the savefile for import into ME3 or is that safe?

... dude...

Just the character loyalty quests, right? The only side-quests I've done are ones that I picked up while at the various locations for said quests. I kinda miss Admiral Hackett always calling me up and "do this, fix that" stuff. Made for a larger, more living galaxy.

What do you mean, N7s?
