  1. O_O Those pics are amazing! Heatshield issue or not, I can't wait for mine.. If my heatshields are bad, then I'll leave the canopy as usual, like I did with the old 1/72 scale Yammie VF-11. No biggie. I'm still not convinced this is a QC issue, but rather something which one has to fiddle around with at first, in order to get it working right. Just like the Bandai VF-25 DX's and the head/neck/upper torso issue. It requires a LOT of effort to get a specific formation of the shoulder plates and torso just right in order for the head to look a bit more extended. (always takes me 30 minutes to figure out) Great to see the 11 being around the same height of the VF-1. I need more place to put all these valks...
  2. The pilot in the upper right is Isamu, from the 25th Anniversary "Excaliver" YF-19.
  3. M&M in wedding dress / suit? @_@ SOLD. This is true. Looks like I'll be skipping the M&M VF-1J combo for later...
  4. Forgive me if this has been posted before: Pre-Orders are Up @ HLJ.com (all are currently $182.73 USD, set for JUNE release): 1/60 VF-22 Sturmvogel II Gamlin Custom Transformable http://hlj.com/product/YMT00168 1/60 VF-19 Proto-03 Byrd of Play White&Orange Color http://hlj.com/product/YMTX-02 1/60 VF-19 Proto-04 Double Nut White&Blue Color http://hlj.com/product/YMTX-01
  5. PANIC-MODE ENGAGED! Let's wait till we have our own 11's shall we? The heatshield is probably some minor issue, like the VF-1D canopy. Perhaps a bit of force is required to snap the two pieces together? (what does the manual say? Could we perhaps get a scan?) Doesn't bother me in the least bit. I've fixed far worse, this shouldn't be an issue at all. Still waiting for my three 11's to ship... Hurry up, HLJ!
  6. If you have an old Bandai 1/55 VF-17, the screw on the back of its head will fit the 25's shoulder perfectly. That's the screw I've used on my Alto. Or you can always unscrew the other shoulder and record the dimensions off that one. Perhaps CD-ROM screws may work? Those little PC screws to connect hardware parts. They seem to be small enough, not 100% sure though.
  7. Nope, it's only a rumor for now. Personally, I hope Bandai will stop making 1/60 Macross mecha, return to model kits, and allow Yamato to take over the rest of the line. Hopefully this is a good indication that this will indeed happen, and Yamato will pick up the Frontier license and finish the rest - after the Mac7 valks have been released. Speaking of which, are the DX's even 1/60 scale? They are much smaller than the 22, 19 or most other 1/60 Yamato valks / plus there's no indication anywhere, on the box or in the manual, confirming that they are in fact 1/60 scale. Only wishful thinking and speculation for now...
  8. After seeing those screenshots from Mac7, thank goodness Yamato went with a more "stealth" / "dark grey" color scheme rather than green/blue! Hopefully M&M VF-22's are around the corner.

    yamato's next move

Definitely picking up the orange/white YF-19. Now if they had painted it red(or yellow) instead of orange, it would have made a nice Hikaru (or Roy) version. If the VF-22 is any sign, here's hoping Yamato has the Mac7 license for a possible VF-17 and VF-19. :] Then in a few years once the Frontier license has been passed on, we might get some proper 1/60 VF-25/27 valks! Not like those sloppy, QC ridden chunkies which are out now. One can dream...
  10. HOT DAYUM!!! O_O That VF-22 is so SOLD! I think it's a safe bet that if Yamato is making a VF-22, then M&M paint schemes should be around the corner. Love the orange/white YF-19 color scheme. :] Is there a release date on these yet?
  11. AMAZING! O_O The cockpit is fantastic, especially the second seat which is higher than the pilot's seat. =D Definitely picking up three of both VT and VE, as well. One for each mode. :]
  12. Sorry if this has been answered before, but: Is the mouth piece removable?
  13. Thanks for the fast and excellent replies! Darn... I'll have to be more selective of what I order...
  14. You have to press harder on the front of the canopy (tip of the canopy which is painted black) so that it locks in place. Mine kept popping off, but with a little force, it clicked right in. (not too much!) Hope that helps!
  15. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I got a Q regarding shipped packages and customs... I've started using a European address for my online orders. Recently I ordered two items from HLJ.com, I received both, but they were inspected by customs, and I was slammed with additional charges (one package was Michel's VF-25G DX ). Is this normal?! Can I expect all my packages to be inspected (plus additional charges) in the future?
  16. Great to hear they are improving the line! I might actually start collecting them, once they get all the bugs sorted out. Kinda sucks for those who got the V.1.0.. In any case, I'll wait until the line is finished, to get started on it.
  17. Broke down and got Michel's VF-25G, and to be honest, I'm quite surprised at the QC! It's a huge, HUGE improvement over the Alto and Ozuma. - But that's not saying much.. :/ - The armor is a SEVERE pain in the arse. They fall off simply by looking at them. It's not that they simply "fall" off, they literally pop, spring, and shoot off, flying half way across the room. - The hips are sloppy and loose, making any Gerwalk mode impossible. - The Hip piece keeps popping out, making the Battroid collapse backwards (if not on a stand...) - Gunpod is slightly slanted to a direction when attached to fighter mode - Sniper gun cannot be attached to fighter mode. It points at a downward angle and hinders the jet from standing correctly on its landing gears Overall this Chunkykin is "ok". The stand is a MUST if you want to display the figure in any mode other than Fighter. Pics: EDIT: I may have sounded a bit harsh, but upon second review and despite the many manufacturing flaws and sloppy design choices, I'm starting to warm up to this line.. @_@ I catch myself wanting to transform the 25 more and more. XD
  18. You forgot: - People who are (color) blind and can't see the various shades of green. That alone was enough for me to cancel my order. It is by far the worst QC issue I have yet to see on a toy. Amazing how something like that can get by undetected - or even be accepted in any shape or form! I own both Ozuma and Alto, Alto is in the repair bay for a broken shoulder, and now a loose leg may be popping off here soon at the hip. Ozuma is in valk heaven after falling off my seat and exploding into a dozen parts and pieces, making any repair attempt make him look like a Franken-Valk (never had any figure explode like that before). So far this line has been a disappointment not only in the choice of design and materials used to produce them (die-cast legs, really? It may be nice and retro to some, but its purpose is beyond superfluous), but also in the overall sloppy and faulty production. Now with these amazing shades of green on Luca - I'm not angry, just saddened and disappointed at how the line is being treated, and how Bandai gets the free pass ticket on these things. For 250$ including shipping, these figures are not worth the hefty price, when you have a vastly superior product of the same type of Valkyrie for only a quarter of the price - the model kits. Hell, even Luca comes with ghosts, the DX does not.
  19. The new VF-25S head is identical to the old, only this time it's planted on a telescopic joint. XD Go go gadget neck! Excellent armor though! I admit, I caved in when I saw Michel's valk and ordered it - despite having negative experiences with the previous two valks. Had to trash my 25S - it fell off my shelf and it broke in every possible place imaginable! I never had a toy break up like that before... Even my yammies survived the fall off the same shelf without a single scratch. Did they fix the loose / floppy / overly tight, self destructing shoulders on these guys? The last thing I need is to salvage more screws from my old Bandai figures to hold them in place... As I did twice before...
  20. Tiny! I wonder if Bandai's 1/100 VF-1 will be the same size as the VF-25. If it's smaller then it might be the world's smallest VF-1 partsformer... For +50$... The army valk is great. XD
  21. I've got a few 1/48 valks, but i've since removed all of them from my shelves and sent them to the basement. Going to replace my 1/48 line with the new 1/60's, for the same reasons some have already mentioned: - They take up less space, thus more valks can be on display Plus they look better, and are able to pull off better poses.
  22. Looks fantastic! Like a mix between the model kit and the DX (although leaning heavily towards the DX). Hope Bandai releases ALL the valks, then I'll HAVE to get one of each. >.<
  23. "I forgot this is a two seater!" "She's got a valk! Run away! Run away!"
  24. The SV-51 had probs? News to me. I pre-ordered my Ivanov the moment it was announced, and even to this day he's still in one piece without any problems whatsoever. Just as flawless and solid as the YF-21.
