  1. From my understanding, it is ONLY the VF-1S ROY which has faulty shoulders due to wrongly inserted pins, and it's only 1 out of 5 figures at best. All other v2 valks are perfectly fine. Sounds like the issue has been resolved. Can't speak for everyone, but I transformed my 1S at least 50 times back and forth in all three modes, and my 1J about 20 times. No problems, stress marks, or anything. In any case it's not effecting me in the least bit. I'm eagerly looking forward to those two-seater valks. :3 *waits impatiently for the 1D, Ostrich and Elintseeker*
  2. A new fuselage mold! =D Looks much longer and more accurate to the VF-1D, as compared to the earlier prototype shots (which were a bit more round, thus similar to the Elintseeker and Ostrich). Awesome!
  3. Awesome work on those panel lines! Looks great! Here's my Ozuma trying to be the 1/60 DX...
  4. This? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/vf25.jpg That's the model kit. All the proportions are incredibly different compared to the DX.
  5. So it's official then. Ozuma has no neck. The 25F in super packs looks fantastic!
  6. O_O *slams pre-order button, then shakes fist @ bandai* Perfect. Now that's more like it.
  7. No. Bandai's 1/60 VF-25 goes for $130 (Luca is $182), compared to: Yamato's 1/60 VF-1 version 2 which goes for $100. With super/strike parts it's $137. I'd say it's a draw. In any case I rather pay for artistic/accurate/craftsmanship quality rather than QC, which is why my ticket goes to Yamato. I don't play with my figures, maybe that's why I've been lucky so far. EDIT: Just checked HLJ for a Yammie VF-0 and SV-51 and saw that they're over 200 bucks. @_@ What caused the prices to go up? I remember when these were under $180!
  8. This is going to make me sound like a negative Nancy, but here it goes: 50+ bucks for that small little thing, which is even more deformed than the 1/60, and has more than a dozen parts which have to be swapped in order for it to "transform"? Easy pass. Maybe for 20$, but not more. Rather get a 1/60 Luca or Michel for three of those little guys. Still getting the VF-4 though, regardless how it looks like. :3
  9. *shakes fist @ bandai* Don't you make me pre-order these... AGAIN! Seriously, if those are the final figures, then I have finally converted. Bandai, you can has my monnies. Alto's head looks perfect and very well detailed. Good to see the use of diecast where it should be used: Joints and other weak locations (hips).
  10. Happy B-Day MacrossWorld! Here's to the next 9 years, and many more beyond that! *raises glass*
  11. Here are some head shots of my VF-0S. Don't know if there are any different versions of this figure, but this one was bought during the first initial release. The top and side of the head show no streamlines at all, except for the front of the face which is hardly noticeable under some lighting conditions, but it is there. (it has a slight scar/scratch on the left side of the face, which was completely my fault. @_@)
  12. Finished my VF-25S in two days. The only thing I painted were the canopy and cockpit. I'm an utter noob when it comes to painting and model making... Used stickers, rather than water-slide decals. Prefer them, since they don't have an extra millimeter or two of excess transparent foil around them. Plus the stickers are quite durable. Overall this kit seems to be a bit better than the Alto kit, since there are no massive gaps in fighter mode. This one actually fits and holds together quite well. (ignore the messy desk...)
  13. Did SK himself draw that sketch? I ask because I've seen him do better, and doubt it actually came from him. Might be a fan-drawing. In any case that sketch makes me appreciate the chunky (1/60 VF-25) much more! That is one awesome, awesome sketch!! Great find!
  14. Here's a close-up which may support that notion. Note the exposed little red piece underneath the gap between the nose and cockpit canopy. Theory: Looks like one pushes the cockpit downwards/inside the fuselage, in order for the heatshield to move from under the nose. One then slides the heatshield over the cockpit, thus locking it into place. Perhaps once the cockpit is pushed inside the fuselage, a small pin is revealed underneath it, which allows better locking between the midsection and the nose in battroid mode (just simply push the pin back in for fighter mode). Ok, I'm putting too much thought into this. XD
  15. While it's great that one is in the works, I rather wait and see. Don't want Bandai to turn our beloved Quarter into a clunker, too. Here's hoping Bandai does a snap-together model kit version of it.
  16. Awesome pics!! =D Battroid mode looks great, gerwalk is awesome, fighter mode is ok, but the nose cone needs to be a wee bit longer. XD Lookin' good! Love the escape pod! I have yet to find out how the headshield works...
  17. No contest: 1/60 v.2 Overall fantastic sculpt, sleeker leg design, amazing gerwalk mode, better articulation, better arm and FAST pack locking mechanism in fighter-mode, and great size. The 1/48, to me, is the new chunky monkey. XD Selling all my old 1/48 valks and replacing them with the superior 1/60 counterparts.
  18. Yep. No change here. Still the good ol' infamous Clunker. Ozma still doesn't have a neck... Gerwalk looks nice though...

    Yamato 1/200

Darn! I'd get the set for the VF-9 alone... But as everyone has already said: EXPENSIVE. What's the fourth trio? Or is there only the 21, 9 and 1?
  20. Gotta love the "construction vehicle" yellow/orange/black color scheme! Interesting concept, to allow other machines to be built using different modules. A mecha built of three differently colored modules will look freaky. XD
  21. It's the Apple iBridge! *turns on main computer to the hum of a Mac firing up* WOW! Talk about bad casting! None of the crew looks like their original counterparts. What's up with the bridge? Looks far more advanced than anything from TNG or VOY. I'm all for updating and changing things around respectfully, but they changed far too much and have successfully erased any sense of a nostalgic connection between this and the original TV series (this is coming from someone who supports the Transformers Movie Designs - then again I care more for ST than I do for TF.). At least the ship exterior looks great... Here's hoping the trailer next month will win me over... (to be attached with the new bond film)
  22. Now that would be an interesting idea... Yamato securing the Macross Frontier Movie license...
  23. Agreed. The Metal Siren is the fugliest valk ever designed. Looks like some kind of blocky Gundam/Macross hybrid for some generic sci fi show. The VF-2J(whatever) and VF-2SS are beauty queens in comparison. The 1/100 VF-25 looks good. The canopy is too blue for my liking, however. And wtf, no cockpit?! O_o I understand the size of these things is tiny, but still, they could add SOMETHING to resemble a pilot, seat, etc in it.
  24. Sales would jump insanely high if English subs were added. Why they aren't in by default, seeing how English is the "universal language" and that anime is quite big in the USA (correct me if I'm wrong), is beyond me (maybe because they fear it might take "Engrish" to a whole new level ). I'd definitely invest in a BR player just for Macross alone.
  25. At 1/60 scale? Too big. Would cost about 300$ per figure, most likely.
