  1. Jorawar, that is awesome! By the way, if we take a poll, then I am not sure if that accurately reflects those who want more than one kit. For sculptors, I don't think it matters whether they sell 1 kit each to 10 different people or 10 to the same person. Perhaps a list with the number of kits specified at a predetermined price would make this a more binding and comfortable list for sculptors to take on.
  2. Payment sent as noted on the SM page. By the way, not to spoil the fun but since you asked... (not necessarily intended for Captain A but to those in general who would like to explore these issues) "-What is a licence, and what are the implications associated with "applying" for one?" Following is a weblink to the Wikipedia page describing what a "license" is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/License For the purpose of our discussion, please refer to the section titled "Intellectual Property". "-Can you be obligated to "apply" for something?" As explained above, a "license" is required or desired if there is a threat or risk of infringing other person's intellectual property right. Again, a license is a "permission to use such intellectual property right" and in particular, "a promise not to sue for a breach thereof". So, if there is a risk of being sued for breach of another person's IP right, it would be prudent to obtain such license from the holder of such IP right. As has been discussed time and time again on this forum, there is a dispute as to who holds these rights outside of Japan. Thus, in real life, it's quite tricky for any of us to figure out who the rightful owner is, let alone, "apply" for such a license. In addition, where a small number of custom items are being produced (as opposed to mass production) amongst community members for a relatively small amount of financial/monetary gains, there is an argument that there is little or no practical risk of any IP right infringement claims being sought by the "rightful" owner. This, obviously, is a judgment call for any of us and it is clear that Captain has made one. As a fan of Macross and anything in 1/72 scale that is Macross-related, I am certainly not one to oppose his judgement. "-What language are contracts and legal documents written in?" The contracts and legal documents can be written in any language and lawyers take pains to ensure that the language is clear and unambiguous as possible (i.e. the birth of legalese - for more, see below). The contracts often can be entered into in multiple languages if the parties to such contract speak more than one language but will often set forth one of those languages (often times, English) to be the "prevailing" language in the event of a dispute in a court of law, arbitration or other forum and venue of dispute settlement. In addition, the contract will specify which of the many laws of the world to govern such contract. In the case of IP, they will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the IP is registered or if no such registration is required or necessary, the law providing for such IP rights in a given jurisdiction. "-Does a word mean the same thing in english as it does in legalese? Why is this important?" Words should mean the same thing whether in "English" or "legalese". However, the language in contracts and statutes are often carefully "drafted and worded" to take into account any ambiguity arising from multiple meanings associated with words used in plain English (or other languages, as the case may be). This often results in very long and elaborate descriptions, qualifications and definitions used in contractual and statutory provisions, which are better known to a layperson as "legalese". For example, a simple sentence such as "this is mine" can turn into a one and a half pager in legalese. "-What is a corporate entity, and how do living beings interact with them?" A "corporation" or similiar corporate entities are specifically defined under the laws of its jurisdiction of incorporation, establishment or formation. "Corporations" require individuals (often directors and officers of such corporations) who are authorized to act on their behalf, bind them to contracts, etc. and to take action to interact with other "Persons" (see definition below). "-What is a "person", legally-speaking?" Legally speaking, a "person" is often defined very broadly to include any individual or any other form of entity. For example, the following is a definition of "person" used in a typical contract or statute. “Person” means any individual, corporation, limited liability company, limited or general partnership, joint venture, association, joint stock company, trust, unincorporated organization, any other legal entity, government or any agency or political subdivisions thereof or any group comprised of two or more of the foregoing.
  3. I believe the problem you faced is what most beginners face with painting out of a spraycan. It just takes a lot of practice. With primers in particular, it is important to use short bursts starting from outside of the model and then quickly moving your hand so that the spraying action goes across the model and ends outside of the model again. (You can do this left to right or top to bottom, whichever you prefer, but that is the key). It's hard to explain this in words so I suggest you watch a few tutorials available on the web. Try YouTube and type in "Gundam" and one of the clips you would find are Japanese TV series that focuses on making plastic models.
  4. I have been out of touch during the holidays but great to be back on the forum to find an update to this thread. Although belated... Happy New Year to you all! Now for business... Ryuji, when and where do you want me to send the check (or Paypal to be exact)?? I want 2 kits by the way... One to build and paint and the other to hand down to my son when he grows up (he's 2 now by the way..)
  5. I saw this in one of the TV shows from Japan (showing modeling technicques)... I forgot the name of the show but it was on Youtube last year... Use sand paper (3000 or higher), followed by some compound and a lot of waxing with cloth...
  6. "gg" is indeed "good game"... which was made quite popular in Starcraft online battles. In fact, the computer game shows in Korea from the 2001 and 2002 started broadcasting world Starcraft tournaments as well as local tournaments. "gg" was used by the opponent who forfeits, knowing there is no way in hell they can turn the tide of the game.
  7. I was hoping that our very own Captain America would do these in resin in 1/72 scale, to go well with his Regults.
  8. I second that. I've been looking for this for ages. I even emailed Tanmen a couple of time to no avail...
  9. Dios mio! Looks great~ Keep it up. I didn't mean to rush you... just wanted some updates (which is a pure joy to witness).
  10. Food for thought... Why are we so sure that "Eureka" came from an English word? What is it was Spanish or Italian (although if so, it would have been spelled with a "c" and not a "k")? It should then be pronounced "eh-oo-reh-kah" much like the Japanese pronunciation.
  11. Not withstanding the downside (cost, weight) and all the reasons cited above, if a quality kit of VF-17D either in figher or battroid mode is cast (or recast) in resin, I would be interested.
  12. Ryuji, any update?
  13. Man, you are lucky that you have a loving and "understanding" wife.
  14. Not to spoil the fun but it seems $35 (US$ I presume) is an impossibility. The kit alone will cost US$27 to win (assuming no bidders) and whoever wins in Japan will have to pay another $5~10 for shipping in Japan. Add Yahoo Japan auction commission and shipping to the US, you will blow the $35 easily.
  15. Could be "counter-intelligence" or a marketing ploy to throw speculating fans off and continue with production quietly. Plus, having a debatable car as a poster candidate could stir up interest (whether positive or negative)....
  16. For whatever it's worth... some of the shops (very few now) in MongKok in Hong Kong still have the full set (of 6) and they sell them at under HK$300 (US$40). I saw one shop the other day that was selling all 7 (including the secret Zent) at HK$320. (Darn it! Since this was about a couple of weeks after I had bought my full set of 6 and the secret. The secret alone cost me HK$100!)
  17. There is one on Yahoo Japan Auction starting at JPY2,850. http://page14.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s59678629
  18. These little kits are great. My "Zaentradi" came with one of the front wheels missing (broken off) I guess, so there are QC issues with these kits. A little crazy glue can fix the problem. Series 2 seem to be in pre-order mode in Japan.
  19. Macross --> Google --> eBay ---> Valk009 (fellow MWer) --> lunch with Valk009 --> Macrossworld!!!
  20. Graham, what time will you be there? I'll come with.
  21. Ichiban has a YF-21 on sale in one of the for sale threads for $20 + shipping. By the way, beware of the YF-21 kit since it is slightly more difficult a build as compared to the VF-1 or even the YF-19.
  22. Well, then, the answer is simple. Get Deunan since she's a "woman" doll.
  23. Captain, I am IN FOR TWO (AT LEAST!!!!)!!!!
  24. If independently listened to, the music in Mac7 was (and is) great. However, after listening to Basara sing those songs in flight and mid-combat 5 dozen times, I grew tired of it. I loved "0-G Love" and "Tenshi No E No Gu (Angel's Paint)" in DYRL but not much of a fan for the title song "DYRL". I also enjoyed the 2nd verse of Tenshi No E No Gu that was in FlashBack2012. From the TV series, "Runner" kind of grew on me although it wasn't all that when I first heard it. The music from Macross Plus was entirely different but enjoyable in such a way.
  25. I believe it's 14 years after 2045, placing the series in 2059. Does that mean we get a glimpse of Max and Milia again? I doubt that they would be dead 14 years from where they left off in Mac7.
