  1. Actually, this has been going nowhere since the last post. I primed the resin parts and found that they need more sanding and more priming. With two kids running around the apartment, work keeping me very busy and the high level of humidity in Hong Kong, it's quite hard to tackle this at this time. I do plan to resume soon (I plan to install a dehumidifier and an air purifier in the room) and when I do, I will definitely post an update. Thank you all for the interest.
  2. Thanks for the tip. I do appreciate it. It's just that lately, I barely have time to catch up on sleep due to work. I think I slept for a total of 15 hours this week. So, end of July it is....
  3. Thanks. I don't have a RS account but I will create one once things let up at work. I am expecting July or August. ^ ^ Most of my cels (but not all) are all posted on this thread. Perhaps you could help me upload them to RS?
  4. That was one cel that I wanted but did not win that week. I bid for it but did not realize I was outbid until it was too late. Well, you can't win'em all!
  5. They are generally about the size of an A4 or letter sized paper.
  6. I am a cel collector myself and I also did bid on that drawing... although I lost. From my perspective, who doesn't collect toys, these cels are worth a lot more to me and I am willing to bid rather far to snatch one of these truly unique (one of a kind) item for my collection. Better luck next time... I ended up winning this one instead (listed on the same link) in the same week.
  7. It's actually a scene from DYRL if I recall correctly.
  8. I haven't been here in a while but wanted to share a few new additions to my collection. Some of you may have seen these cels recently posted and sold on Yahoo! Japan Auction. My favorite is the 2nd to last Misa cel.
  9. Captain, put me down for 2 kits, please. I will have to send you Paypal (although it hurts) since Hong Kong post doesn't have money orders...
  10. So can you tell me again how I should order this? I am sure I missed another post somewhere but I simply couldn't wait and had to ask...
  11. The Water Margin was good. However, I am not sure I got immersed in it as much as I did "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". By the way, have you READ "Legend of the Galactic Heroes"? Not the anime version but the actual novel that gave birth to the anime? Not sure if this was translated into English though. If you liked Romance of the Three Kingdoms, I bet that you would like this one.
  12. Hahaha... that was hilarious. A lot of Koreans grew up in the '60s, '70s and part of the '80s secluded from the rest of the world. I don't think it was until the '88 Olympics until Korea truly opened up its borders to new ideas, cultures and what not. When I was young, we were made to believe that all of the Japanese animation they showed on TV were Korean. It wasn't until a friend of mine had received a toy Mazinger Z as a gift from his uncle who lived in Japan that we realized it was Japanese. My view is that it takes a while for a society to reach the maturity level where they begin to recognize and give credit to other cultures (including pop culture) as well as to acknowledge the differences. What can I say? I was a big fan. If the Macross TV and DYRL were made and remade by either KS or any of his disciples (with slightly different takes or angles), wouldn't you be interested in giving a go at it?
  13. Judging from the Chinese characters, I think they mean "callus" or "thick dry skin"...
  14. Awesome, Emerson. If you ever decide to part with any of these, give me a shout!
  15. Like I said last year, it's getting so much more difficult to find good cels. Below is my latest addition.
  16. I read about 4 different versions of the translations (into Korean from Chinese). Although not as authentic as the Chinese version, the Koreans simply love this story and it's been translated by many prominent authors over the past century (some in abbreviated form). I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time (in grade school) and since then, I've been a big fan. I do agree that the ending is a bit of a let down but it is part history. There has been attempts to shed Cao Cao in a new light over the recent years.
  17. In case you want to see a painted build-up of Andy's VF-4, here is one of them. I am ashamed that the paint scheme on this one does not do Andy's kit justice and will probably touch it up at some point in the future.
  18. Andy's (Valk009) VF-4 is a retooled version of the Musashiya kit and is a beauty. Every modeler should own one... I am not sure if Andy still has any in stock though.
  19. I'm going all out Japanese on this one... and will vote for badboyz' "VF-25 Raiden". Ozma's version could be VF-25 Raiden Kai...
  20. Very inspiring.... keep'em coming. I love your work on the F.S.S. fatimas as well!
  21. Some bankers are calling it the American "peso".... (No offense to our Latin American friends!)
  22. Was this a Bandai booth? I guess that means the 1/72 plastic model will be issued by Bandai as well. I hope they make it up to Hasegawa's standard. By the way, did anyone notice the Roy Fokker scheme spacesuit displayed next to this booth/counter in front of a yellow T-shirt?
