  1. Excellent weathering, impeccable job. How did you get such a constant flow on the panel lines, they are so hard to work with.
  2. Even disassemble is a masking pain in the ass. There are a lot of pins that you must be careful not to loose if you completely disassemble, some parts are glued, mostly on the legs but can be pried apart carefully. I would rather mask with the assembled toy. But you can take apart the main fuselage for easier access and masking.
  3. Amazon That was me, I was eying the CF's for a while on HKC but they were gone when I was ready to buy. Checked on Angolz and they were still in stock, tried to buy 2 but it only allowed me to get one, so I guess I took the last one, sorry, let's just hope I don't get the inevitable "order canceled" email from them. Where are they selling the TV CF with option parts? That was me too, I attempted 3 purchases from 3 sellers and the 3 cancelled on me claiming out of stock and "inventory error", I decided to contact the next seller asking if he had the Cavalier in stock where Amazon marked the price at 180, (it was 1am), quickly got an answer of "yes" when I go check, the guy raised the price to 300+, f*****ck this sh!t!! I really hope Arcadia continues the Yamaato Macross line so we can all go tell this scalper where to shove their greedy prices.
  4. Damn it!! Placed an order on Friday for 1A DYRL Hikaru and 1A Cavalier and got them canceller by the seller today cause they were out of stock. *sigh*....
  5. It actually looks like an easy custom, take the legs, attach with part of the FAST packs and scratch built the angled front engine parts, also, notice that the underbelly was also scratchbuilt very neatly and clean on the mirror. Very very nice, would love to take a stab at a yamato 1/60 assembly kit and kitbash it, if only the stupid Super packs weren't so expensive now.
  6. Nope but you can pull it out, it's held by some small taps, add a dab of nail polish on one of the tabs or anything to increase friction (that's safe with plastic) to make it tighter. Good luck
  7. I agree, point being, now that Kakizakis are sold out, their popping on ebay for 150+, LOL!! One thing I really regret is what you say, I got back into the game and did not know the Yamato's SDF-1 were going so cheaply, I so wanted one and never knew. But unless I win the lottery I will never buy at those ridiculous prices for it now.
  8. I guess Bandai would prefer that like some people did with their 25's, buying 3 of them and gluing them locked in one in each mode. Or at least, as usual people bought but never build them, hehehehe! I noticed that the Bandai super packs have a sight similarity to the v1 Yamato VF-1's on their inaccurate proportions.
  9. Not to take anything from the 171, but the VF-17 has a lot of anime magic on its transformation and Yamato did a great job to try and balance it out, remember the Bandai VF-17 DX?? that thing was obscene. The 171 and 25 were designed without sorting to too much anime magic to sell as a toy, so I find lazy that Bandai makes errors in something that needs less work to design on CAD than the other valks from the Macross universe. The Holy grail will be the VF-4G or the 1/3000 SDF-1. I'm noticing that prices on ebay are still ridiculous but not as expensive as a few weeks before, either people are already completing their collections and interested has gone down or people are running out of money. I'm the latter.
  10. Changing the subject, so now that Yamato is defunct, is it ok now to say perhaps, someone grabs a set of super/strike part and make recast of them?? since at the moment, the intellectual property is no more.
  11. Nice, looks like a Hasegawa kitbash, it is from 2010 but I have not seen those either. great link 1/5000 SDF-2 Megaroad!! OMG!!
  12. I refer as Bandai as uninspired toys because they pretty much make a base design and go along with it for eternity with slight changes, like Gundam. Yyes, they are great toys and model, but they are essentially the same with some tinkering for their new Gundam retelling story. They did it with Frontier, the VF-25/27/29 are pretty much same VF with slight variation, different wings and ridiculous schemes. Any Macross toy is better than no Macross toy, but I fear that Bandai is not for the passion of Macross and perfect transformation (Like Yamato was) but more for selling their silly Gundams and if Bandai get the licenses, they will not use Yamato molds, they will lock all those licenses so their toys will be only Macross on the market and perhaps retell SDFM story again, like Frontier, and make a design similar to the VF-25 until they get tired of it and dump the franchise. In fact, I have started to fathom the chance that the delay in to the Yamato molds fate with Arcadia along with licenses crap is because Bandai is doing everything to prevent it. Besides, has anyone confirmed that the Macross line was the reason Yamato went bankrupt?? they had a lot of licenses for their figurines and were also very expensive. Anyone knows what do people who collect their figurines think of Yamato/Arcadia future? A Yamato mold knock off VF would be nightmare to have, and I would not dare to think what would be of those thin panel lines in a knock off.
  13. wow! and I thought the ebay prices were off the roof. 2k for the vfx?? wow The VFX has an attachment that goes over the arms on fighter mode that makes it look like a prototype, that and the test scheme....
  14. This is what worries me, they appear to have their sight set on giving Macross the same treatment as Gundam, just an excuse to sell uninspired toys. Already did it with Frontier, and they will perhaps start with Macross the first. If they acquire Yamato's old Macross licenses they could just lock it like they did with Macross 7 so they could sell their ugly robots and corner the market.
  15. Maybe negotiations are going, since nothing is finalize, everyone is sworn to secrecy and silence until everything is decided.
  16. Beyond awesome! Those Mospeada designs have always been good on the eye.
  17. Is this the new superdeformed VF??? :P Geez those FAST packs proportion are so off!!
  18. Sounds amazing!!! What about rescribing the panel lines deeper?? I'm working on a Yamato VF-1A and just did a second clear coat to seal the decals and have pretty much loss all panel lines details now...don't know what to do, I'll see if I can rescribe them for panel lining but I don't have the correct tools for it. Good luck on your project and keep us updated.
  19. Nice, VF-1S Max, becoming a rarity now!
  20. LOL at the jaundiced JETFIRE, haha! I've had clear coat yellowd on me Will try that small tinting trick when I get a chance.
  21. I wonder if this "happy customers" will remain happy if Arcadia continues the Macross line and reissue all the VF-1J's, would sure be a kick in the gonads.
  22. Sucks to loose the decal sheet. Throw some Macross kite in the F-15, hehehe kidding! good luck with it, looks really awesome!
  23. great job!! Always loved the Hasegawas battroid. Too bad they don't made battroid of their other macross VF's
  24. I was watching those M&M valks and the rest of his auctions, just for the sheer curiosity of how much they'd all go for, I was expecting 350 each for M&M, but WOW!!! 620 and 630 is beyond absurdity. Comparing with HKC and their lowest price on the items that were being auction by the seller (Super strike parts, VF-1A TV and DYRL, M&M), original pricing is about USD472 value. In total with those auctions the seller earned about USD1754, that's a 370% value increase!!! (If my match is correct) But why would someone pay those prices, I don't get it, any self respecting Macross fan collector knows that it's just dumb to pay this prices. Or perhaps someone with too much money and little brain to use (no offense is the buyer is a member here, but it's my opinion). And this people wanted to pay those prices, it was an auction and not a seller fixed price, so this buyers are just...obsess. But whoever says Macross items are not an investment they should see this whole thread. I wonder if the rest of the non-Macross Yamato products are selling this well?
