  1. ouch........................
  2. Kawamori and the designers of SDFM were obvious aircraft nuts and german aircraft history. There are many homages on SDFM to real life aircraft and their history. - Unification wars based on the Cold War - The MiM-31 as stated is inspired by the Mig-31 Foxhound, as well as the F-203 was inspired by the F-15 Eagle, they were both the top interceptors of their era. - The Comanchero was also based on a russian design. The Mi-24 HIND - Roy Fokker name was obviously after the Dutch company Fokker who built aircraft for Germany in WWI and WWII, most famously the Fokker Dr.I triplane piloted by the Red Baron. Which is given homage in Roy Fokker himself on the way he died. The Red Baron was never shot down, he was shot by an unknown soldier piercing his heart and he manage to land his plane, thus keeping his never shot down title. In SDFM, Claudia tells how Roy is proud of never being shotdown, and his death is very reminiscent of the Red Baron, Roy was shot 3 times in his back, he landed his airplane and bled to death. - In Hikaru flashback of Roy, you see him flying a Fokker biplane named Kawamori. Which is the same model Roy gives him when he was in the hospital and he drops when Misa tells him of Roy's death. - VF-1 obviously based on the F-14 I did not know about the "Korovin" test pilots, but given how Kawamori homage airplane history, that theory could be true about the Karyobin name. The Mig-35 on the outside looks a lot like a Mig-29 Fulcrum, as well as the F/A-18A/B/C Hornet is similar looking to the F/A-18D/E Superhornet, but their avionics are completely different and far superior and on closer inspection, they're airframe are similar but no exactly alike.
  3. I can think of a couple of reasons why they are opting for this schemes first. 1. They must start getting profits out of the Hasegawa partnership. 2. The classic VF-1 schemes have been beaten to death and they are now catering to the hardcore fan that will pay their asking price. 3. Perhaps the complete SDFM/DRYL license is not complete, but they somehow have the VF-1 molds intellectual property and they are releasing this schemes first until full license deals are finished? 4. Maybe the Macross franchise was not the cause of Yamato's demise and was perhaps one of their most profitable departments and Arcadia is willing to let them do more rare schemes? Either way, we all know they will eventually re-release the classics.
  4. HAHAHA! https://twitter.com/ARCADIA_Co_Ltd But the user who asked the question has his account locked so you can't see his twit.
  5. I want an Arcadia VF-1 Angel phillia scheme!! LOL!!! j/k VF-4G Moon shooters!
  6. It was a 1/48 custom by Kurt Minmei Guard, worth every penny. They probably decided to announce the Minmei Guard earlier due to the negative ugly feedback of the 30th anniversary Tenjin. BTW
  7. Bandai sure knows how to promote themselves, that CGI transformation is very cool. Leg transformation mechanism looks awesome but super fragile, so many moving pieces, specially the piston like piece, will it be diecast? Still not gonna get it. Knowing Bandai, they probably later release an improved panel lined/dimension/gunpod mount version.
  8. Yes, it's supposed to be pink, but most models I've seen done have opted for a more red visor.
  9. OMG OMG OMG OMG!! HELL YEAH!!! And the tampo looks top notch! so many tampoed details!! Price must be of the completed toy. Perhaps the added price is for royalties for Hasegawa partnership. But I want it with Strike packs for that price.
  10. I don't see the cavalier anywere
  11. I find incoherent Bandais reasoning to follow and do an extremely difficult engineering lineart to try and keep anime accuracy for the leg transformation and then botch the panel lines and obvious dimensions. That is just lazy rushed job. Kawamori's approval or not, is a fugly model and Bandai screwed it big time. This will probably end as a beginners kit like the old Imai kit have become before going into Hasegawas.
  12. Very nice! good job!
  13. The ratchet is a tricky to get right and if assembled improperly or backwards the thrusters will not align. This might help further
  14. The feet/thrusters have no left or right, they do have front and left so they might be backwards, post a picture. You could pull the thrusters out and rearrange, they're glued but if you pull with enough force they can come out.
  15. Very nice!! Dude should get a lady friend to pose with the helmet in the pictures
  16. I assume, Yamato filed for bankruptcy as a sort of chapter 11 thing to restructure. I'm sure they were dealing with this a long time coming, which is why so quickly after Yamato went bust the announcement of Arcadia acquiring their assets was told. No one could know of this to avoid insider trading and prevent people taking advantage in the stock market. If the plan to continue the Macross line was part of the plan, factories should've not stopped production of their prime materials, only perhaps to repackage and rebrand as Arcadia now. Obviously Arcadia needs to show their Macross products as new and not a continuation, hence, the VF-1J 30th anniversary, so all the macross products already out of the factory are probably sitting in a warehouse waiting for Arcadia to completely structure, rework contract with distributors and after the launch of the VF-1J 30th, they should release all the stock that's waiting and probably announce their new line of perhaps v2 Zero line and v2 YF-19 and go with their idea of 2 new valks per year or something. Yes, I'm that optimistic
  17. Since the rumor of the Arcadia VF-1J, my panic buying has shifted to anything other than the VF-1 series.
  18. I was referring more about the Harmony Gold thing where Macross items cannot be imported for sale to the US. Really?? interesting.
  19. Impressive... sad I can't seem to catch a break on the 11C
  20. If the Basara guitar was never real, why is it called a replica? Shouldn't it be called a rendition or real life production? I'm curious to know what are the supposed new gimmicks the new VF-1J brings
