  1. Apologies, I should have said "I usually use the Default_IDB, but am trying the MWDefaultWhiteBlue" last night (posting after working at a side job on top of a regular day at the full time job is not a good combination). I've reverted to Default_IDB, and it's all back to normal. Thank you for going to all the extra effort on our behalf.
  2. Not a problem per se... I use the MWDefaultWhiteBlue theme (the black one... let's just say that I'm extremely thankful that there is a white option! ) The latest version feels... 'squished'. It's almost like the cellpadding has been set to 0. This is at the very top (upper left home > MW News and Updates, etc., to the 'Reply To This Topic' button), and the very bottom (lower left Twitter, Fakebook, etc. buttons to the 'Mark Site Read' link in the lower right corner). Individual posts (and member descriptions to the left of posts) are OK as-is (they seem unaffected by the loss of padding elsewhere). Thanks for looking into this!
  3. Speaking of that... I wonder if they'll pick up on the stealthy medium-range missile launcher pods that appeared in one of Kawamori-san's rough designs (an idea he later recycled into the HAIM-95A Missile Launcher Pods on the VF-0).
  4. All my translations on the VFMF series can be found here: http://sdfyodogawa.mywebcommunity.org/OTvfmf/OTvfmf.php Alas, I've done nothing on Operation "Phantom Sword" (currently hard at work on getting an expanded, and much improved translation of VFMF VF-1: Wings of Space in php format, and am looking to tackle the stuff on the VF-1EX after that. )
  5. Great Mechanics 06: Macross Zero Feature: http://sdfyodogawa.mywebcommunity.org/OTgreatMechanics/OTgreatmechanics.php 100% newly translated - I just wish I had more energy/time/etc to finish this (what you see is what was completed before Christmas preparations started in earnest last year. 4 months on the motivation to polish off the Kawamori interview has evaporated). (^_^;) That said, the article provides a neat snapshot of things on the eve of Macross Zero's publication. How they handle the "preview" in the pre-Youtube era is also... amusing. Nevertheless, I hope you, dear readers, also find the production and technical sides (shot composition, detailed analysis of shots, etc.) as interesting as I did. Note: also updated the summaries of the Great Mechanics G section with the most recent issues (for those fellow Macross book collectors out there).
  6. Seconded. Release date is unchanged in Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.jp/ヴァリアブルファイター-マスターファイル-VF-11サンダーボルト-マスターファイルシリーズ-Graphic/dp/4815600309/ref=pd_ybh_a_9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G68PMJHDY2C7DYWWT8BV Edit: The SB Creative (publisher) HP also has the 2019/03/09 release date: https://www.sbcr.jp/products/4815600303.html
  7. Aren't they based in China? Ergo, other pressing obligations would be Chinese New Year? (the busiest travel period of the year)
  8. Are you referring to this? That is the Spanish language section of the forums you know...
  9. That appears to be the "Howard GU-11C(P)" introduced in the Variable Fighter Master File: VF-4 Lightning III book (apparently developed for the VF-4G, to give it extra "stopping power" )
  10. That actually happened to me once: late show on a Monday night. So-so movie. I remember the usher coming through in the middle to check on things in the theater, and saying "I bet you feel like a king"! On topic: personally, I think the 'leaked' movie title is just a red herring. Like 'Blue Harvest' was for RotJ.
  11. Le Hornet. They went with the English name as-is. (Also, with the feminine form, wouldn't it be La Hornette? ) (Je suis Canadien. Je regrette de ne pouvoir parler qu'un peu.)
  12. Apparently Verhoeven stopped reading the book after a couple of chapters. So there's that... Nevertheless, good point Tekering! Starship Troopers (movie) is the spiritual successor to Robocop! Complete with bizzare-o CMs!
  13. Lower left? I believe it says something along the lines of "due to the (landing gear) wheel sticking out in the interior, it doesn't open." 内側は車輪がでるため、ひらかない。
  14. As they're aiming for a 2020 release, I hope they've already finished most of the script! I'm tempted to guess that this teaser (of a teaser) is a test run for the special effects and mood of the cinematography (and as for music, sound effects, and props, it's not like those ceased to exist after GB2! )
  15. Wasn't Delta a follow on to Frontier? Nevertheless, the big question is what kind of music will they use. Will it be back to rock? More idol/J-pop? Knowing that will help inform on the setting, and ultimately, what direction the series takes.
  16. Since my name was dropped... What he's been saying about the characters and the adaptation process is on the money. The only thing OT I can add is when Seto brought up one of the female protagonist's main life goals as being a good housewife, it got me thinking that a) one really should be looking at the originals in Japanese, not what was presented in Robotech (as Seto and the others have been pointing out), and b) looking at Japanese culture itself (but not with cultural blinders on. More like in the 'put yourself in their shoes' vein). Going back to the 'good housewife' point, it brought to mind thoughts of: how much is that show a child of the '80's? How much were the writers reflecting reality or the idealized female character for their target demographic (not necessarily male)? Expanding on my b): I teach youths, and a surprising number of female students have responded that their dream job (or future plans or whatever) is to be a housewife. As that's right now (the 2010's), it begs the question of not so much gender roles in the culture, but how the role of people (both men's and women's) are dictated in society. So, perhaps instead of psychoanalyzing the mess that is Robotech (I have fond memories of the show, mind you. But it's been left in my childhood for a reason), I humbly suggest something more current like: why the Me Two movement hasn't really caught on in Japan like it has in other parts of the world, and why that movement has had more traction in South Korea? (A country which is much, much similar culturally and linguistically to Japan, than the English speaking countries that the majority of us originate in.)
  17. And another piece for those in need of a Macross-style mecha fix to tie them over until we start to get details on the next Macross series: https://www.deviantart.com/studiootaking/art/Gen-1-MC05-LWRIII-2T-Verifer-2-774970285
  18. There are also the political aspects to take into consideration. Without a centre tank, it's a lot easier for domestic politics, as well as international relations, as they can say the lack of a tank means it's a dedicated defensive fighter. Though, my impression is that it is literally becoming a missile truck for the more forward deployed F-35.
  19. As all my classic space sets were given away way back when, these two new sets are now at the top of my "must have" list. Thankfully, they're both in the affordable price range this time around!
  20. Yup. This will probably sum it up best: The sun's not only moving horizontal, but also vertically in it's orbit.
  21. No one is denying that there were piloting errors (and if memory serves, there were bureaucratic errors as well higher up in the company - last minute route changes, poor maps, etc.). They made the point in that TV show episode that the plane went into "landing mode" and overrode some of the pilots later commands. The follow-up point was that Boeing (at the time) stressed that ultimate override control was in the hands of the pilot, but with Airbus, it was the avionics - which wasn't in support of the pilot's assertion, just a general statement of company design philosophy (something which, 20+ years later, Boeing now allegedly appears to be doing).
  22. Ah... but isn't the Holiday Special merely a TV special, whereas the Ewoks movies are described as TV movies?
  23. Apparently, Airbus has been doing that for decades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_France_Flight_296#Alternative_explanation
  24. Hmmm... if we include the two Ewoks movies and The Clone Wars film, wouldn't that make Rogue One the 11th film in the Star Wars franchise?
