  1. If it's as good as that final trailer suggests, then yes. Black Panther benefited greatly from sales generated by people that don't normally go to see comic book movies, and those people seeing the movie multiple times. And that last Infinity War trailer gave me chills - I cannot wait. -b.
  2. Usually end up changing mine to DHL when items are released, it's recently been cheaper than EMS for me. -b.
  3. Success at HLJ and AmiAmi (for the first time in a good while for a DX 1st round pre-order). Kind of sucks to read about HLJ's new pre-order policy, or enforcement practices, I see it from both sides (HLJ's and consumers) but I'm glad to know about it now. It'll make me way for cautious ordering from them. This PLUS their stupid updated payment system takes them out of my favorite shop to buy from spot. -b.
  4. Very much agreed. I hope to get a chance to see Black Panther in theaters again this weekend, otherwise it's going to be a long wait (for me) until it comes out on Blu ray. -b.
  5. ! I'm right there with ya Sycla, I was back and forth the night the orders opened up. If I hadn't already paid for this I would have contemplated cancelling the order this entire time. -b.
  6. ^Tempting I have both versions (Hasbro is on display at home, Takara is MISB), but could use another something to put on my desk at work. If I can find some money in the budget I'll shoot you a PM (provided another member doesn't snap it up first). -b.
  7. Got a shipment notice from Premium Bandai at 4:09 AM eastern today, so they are shipping now. -b.
  8. Agreed, looks awesome! I also cancelled an order for the GX-77 at BBTS, but it was for budgetary reasons, I still have my order at HLJ which I can't wait to get my hands on. -b.
  9. ^See - it felt like I was literally the only person in the theater, a heavily mixed crowd, to chuckle a bit to "WHAT ARE THOSE" - not because it was funny, but because I recognized it from like 2 years ago. That and the Kevin Hart moment that just made say "goddammit" in my Kyle from South Park voice. *and from my earlier post sense of personal vengeance, not since -b.
  10. The point is two actors who played the same Marvel comic character in a Fox film redeemed themselves by way of playing different Marvel comic characters in Disney films. Not so much that they were poor actors to begin with, but speaking strictly in the realm of comic book properties. He was compelling in that he had an actual backstory, was well acted and as you've said was a really good foil for T'Challa, I just thought they played up the 'Angry Black Man' too much - power to the people through violent revolution. I would have been more 'okay' if his rationale was all about destroying the legacy of Wakanda because he was pissed off (for good reason), instead he was just a power-hungry murderer, who through his actions didn't really care about 'the' struggle but more his own since of personal vengeance and gratification. Not trying to be dismissive in any way shape or form, we can chat via PM if you'd like, but if I delve into why much further then it's going to get super political in this thread and I don't want to sully the thread or a REALLY good movie. That said I agree that it's yet another really solid entry into the MCU with a good script (despite one or two cringe-y inside jokes), great acting with an overall thoughtful and satisfying story. -b.
  11. One, two, three, four - I declare THUMB WAR! Killmonger, nope, not I. There was too much about his motivations AND actions that got on my nerves and or I flat out despised. Yeah, the music wasn't a huge distraction or anything that made me say "great soundtrack". To be honest I usually notice a strong score before a strong soundtrack anyway. -b.
  12. Saw it earlier today, easily in my top 3 - 5 Marvel movies. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (and I'm not even that big of a Cap fan) Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 1 and/or 2 (despite the forced humor, Volume 2 had a LOT of heart) Black Panther Thor: Ragnarok *Logan - don't care that it's not in the MCU, taken as a whole this could easily be my # 1 My only slight nitpicks are; 1) Some of the more urban/Black humor was a little too forced (before anyone has a stroke, I'm Black), but extra laughs seems to be par for the course for movies these days. It's like Hollywood is going thru a "LMAO" phase. 2) While very early on the movie touched on very real and very prevalent issues impacting my community by the end the message got "comic-booked". That said I appreciate that the message was delivered at all, and I appreciate the intent of T'Challa establishing outreach programs to the world at large. Can't wait to see it again in theaters and then get a copy once it gets a home release. -b.
  13. Can. Not. Wait. To get Gypsy Danger in my hands - I'm about to change my order at HLJ to ship immediately. I also like the Avenger design so I hope that gets a SOC release as well. -b.
  14. Man...the only reason I'd say Angel Birds is because I've never had one in my collection. BUT since I'm so far out of the game as far as completing the Yamato and Arcadia lineups I probably wouldn't buy the Angel Birds either. All good, I'm more fan of the Paris Act than Moon Guard and I can totally see why anyone wouldn't necessarily like either scheme. That would be pretty smart for Arcadia - as others have already mentioned, I see that destined for a half off sale if it gets a normal release. -b.
  15. Not what I'm saying, but fair. They did however make the choice to make a Valk in this scheme, I wish that they'd make or produce an anniversary Valkyrie toy, regardless of who designed the markings, that actually looks good (understood that aesthetics are personal preference). -b. *edit to add - use any number of popular schemes throughout the years, Enigma, Minmay Guards, etc. and slap a 35th anniversary sticker on the box and call it a day. The result is the same, the celebration of an anniversary

    Hi-Metal R

Out of morbid curiosity I went back to look and noticed the rash of down-votes too. Maybe someone just really hates the HMR line. All jokes and "vote casting" aside, I love you MacrossWorld, you never cease to amaze. -b.
  17. Still have lots of love for Arcadia, despite some REALLY questionable decisions, but I swear it'd be great if for once they could produce a visually appealing anniversary scheme. -b.
  18. Quoted for ultimate truth. You're definitely not wrong. I'm loving the armor in Fighter Mode - so I'll opt to pay through the nose sooner vs later. -b.
  19. +1 Same, paid for my Hobby Search order a few hours ago, and just waiting on HLJ to bill for the one that I have there. -b.
  20. So Vortech, not taking anything away from your experience - you're perfectly entitled to like or dislike what you want. I haven't seen it, probably won't see it so I have no opinion on the movie itself. I have to agree with Noel on this point, I haven't seen one full episode Delta but I love the Valkyrie designs (the 31) and I have fond memories of watching Mazinger as a VERY young kid here in the States and I like the MB design so I'm picking up a couple of them. So much of my collection is based on "this looks cool to me" all the while I've not watched one episode of Gundam, Delta, this show, that show or the other one. -b.
  21. Pretty much the same feedback as Tking22 on whether or not Spidey will appear in Venom. It's supposed to be the same for the Silver Sable / Black Cat film. Re: the actual movie and whether or not I think, or hope, that it'll be good and/or successful - "meh" best sums up my feelings. Even with Tom Hardy whose work I enjoy, at this point I really could care less about the movie. Maybe that'll change, maybe not. -b.
  22. Honestly they can leave whatever YT or Falcon was shown in the prequels where it belongs, in the past. Just like Jar Jar and midicholrians (spelling). I'm hopeful that Solo is fun, without being silly, and while having some serious/dramatic elements not be dark. Just let it be a well-acted, decent scripted, adequately directed popcorn flick. -b.
  23. LOL - DC is always the punchline Good catch! Looks like we have X-Force ladies and gents. -b.
