Haven't purchased from them in over 10 years, but Image Anime has been around forever - I've found their prices to be way too high with all of the online competition they have, but if longevity is any indicator I guess they're okay. *Edit, my Sentinel Ride Armor arrives tomorrow from HLJ -b.

Right there with you buddy - if the release is the 28th then I'm biting the bullet on Friday the 27th since I ordered with HLJ. Price and value are always subjective, there's really no right or wrong on either side of the argument - IMO. Personally I have purchased expensive things, viewed them as expensive and still very much felt before, during and after the purchase that those "things" were overpriced. I just decided that the feeling of, or perception of reduced value (getting less for more, less quality, less accessories, less "whatever" for more money) wasn't enough to turn me off from the purchase because it was something that I wanted that much. And I live with those decisions and move right along. To be honest I felt that way about the original Yamato SDF-1, but I wanted it in my collection (at the time). -b.

Didn't hate, or maybe dislike, in the same way a lot of people did. I readily admit it had a lot of flaws but I can't lie, once you get past the shrimp burrito comparison () @Knight26actually has a pretty good movie. Oh, remove the space manatee milking scene. Ugh. That ranks up there with the worst of the worst Star Wars moments. -b. -

Same, I have a Metal Build Mazinger Z that is up in 1 day and I'd love to have them shipped together. For those that want one, I hope you can get a copy. But this is good news for ppl like me that want it to ship soon, that means payment will be processed within the day. -b.

so much for stalking Mandarake for a copy Really surprised, that's a pretty extreme jump. From the overall number of copies that have come up for sale and for the price going from 35000 JPY. Fingers crossed that more become available...at some point. Hopefully they do, but if not, I fully support the $ 250 beat-down. -b.

It really is, beyond the arm and chest/waist articulation the arm cannons are so damn fiddly they just fall off (same complaint I've seen posted previously). -b.

Agreed with all of the above, saw this on Sunday while I loved this movie, I was simply too lazy to create a thread for it (I did search and didn't find one). Hands down the best film I've seen all year, beating Black Panther, Ready Player One, Pacific Rim and whatever else I've seen and have forgotten about, whether I liked the movie or not. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who loves horror movies, and just damn good film-making. -b.

Oddly enough I also felt some contentment with getting my refund from MyKombini. Granted, I wanted the copies I ordered, but it was $ 500 some dollars back in my pocket. And with that and the (1) that picked up from Loopaza (at the time I was kicking myself for splurging) I'm good. If I end up with a reasonably priced second copy at some point in the future then cool, otherwise no skin off of my nose. That just comes from "feeling" the irritation from the members here because, (1) I greatly empathize with wanting my toys and (2) the supreme frustration of just not knowing what's going on with Bandai and N-Y. -b.

It's for sure ugly, but if we're going there it's still better than the Nascar Valk. And a million times yes to @505thAirborne - literally any of the items you listed would be preferable. Plus the always asked for Enigma or Minmay Guards. -b.

Right! Although I would actually be enthused if this was a 1S and not a 1J. The last Anniversary 1S (IIRC) was the 1/48 gold and black scheme. -b.

Very odd, every Bandai TWE item I've ever ordered from N-Y came with the brown-shipper. It's something that I actually look forward to - blame my OCD. That's what I've been dying to learn as well. We've heard from folks in just about every corner of the globe except from fans in Japan about what their experience is. And as someone mentioned just a few posts ago, there can't be very many of them out there - Mandarake has listed more 10th Anniversary Metal Build Exia's than they have DX 31A's. -b.

Thanks ArchieNov, and what JBO said is pretty much exactly what I did. I had the same "creative" (if we can even call it that lol) block. I actually liked that name a lot, thought it was fitting considering the look of the Jaeger and its role in the movie. -b.

Loved all of the movie and video game references, felt like the movie was made (and I have to assume that the book was written) for folks like us that tend to live and breath our forms of fictional entertainment, whether that be video games, movies, books, anime, whatever. -b. -

Ah yes, free time. Time should be the real currency of the world. There are pros and cons to the Arcadia Valkyries compared with Bandai Valkyries in that to me Arcadia makes the iconic VF-1 and when those are "dressed up" it really gets to my sense of nostalgia - like a classic car, Bandai makes the newer Valks so it's like looking at a new car in the showroom. Either way, as long as this still brings you joy, keep going as you find the time. I'm pretty sure that 99.99999% of us enjoy your work. -b. -

You're making a good point, and you're not wrong that we (collectors/this community/people impacted) should put this into perspective, it is literally just a toy. It the human nature part that you referenced that kicks in and we want our toy, because we're big kids and at the end of the day we want what we want and feel the sting of disappointment. And the added sting that we may have to pay more if we want said toy, or that we may never get it at all. But again, you're not wrong - perspective is key, it's just hard to come to that moment of zen when you're in the midst of that situation. -b.
