Summer 2009 MW Bay Area Meet in SF Japantown
Knight26 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Sounds cool, I will be heading up to the Sac/Davis area again in August, around the 26th currently, maybe I can swing by. -
The Yukikaze books are being released in english, sweet, I will have to check that out, I wonder if the original artwork will be included as well, I always prefered those designs to those in the anime.

The translation on the images, and the article I pulled them from stated that the pictures were real, but heavily editted afterwards. I am inclined to agree with, obviously the background and floor were messed with, but modelling the scrim like that would a serious pain.

Almost time for everyone to start acting like Howard Hughes and bottling our own pee. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2009/07/08/urine-power.html -
Official MacrossWorld Con 2009 Information Thread
Knight26 replied to KiriK's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
I am still planning to attend MWCon on the 18th (can only attend one day, Owen sees one of his specialists on the 19th) and will be bringing the following, assuming they arrive in time: 20 Hardcopies of the book to sign and sell 25 Con Disks (specifically labeled as exclusive to MWCon 2009), these will include all e-reader formats of the book as well as the technical articles from the website (including those that I have not yet had a chance to post), ship registry files (kind of like a Janes book), Dossiers on the main characters, artwork, and a few other surprise extras. I will be putting together artwork for this disks this weekend and will post it prior to the con to get everyone's opinion. Best of all, I will be signing and selling these at a lesser price then the hardcopy, considering all the extras included it will be a great deal. -

Pavel Bulat (a professor of aerodynamics, regularly writing on paralay.com) put out an image of the thing masked with scrim in his may article. It looks like the photos were taken before the recent visit of the government delegation to KNAAPO. Of course the pics are heavily edited. http://www.paralay.com/stat/Bulat_12.pdf (in russian)

The computer and electronics super geek thread
Knight26 replied to Dante74's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Should be interesting, but from what the article says it won't be for the gamers or video/graphic editors and professionals, or people off the net. I would be interested otherwise, if I could get my games, ACAD, and PS, etc... to run on it, especially when off network, that would be excellent, if it is stable. -

Any chance that you can mention that a certain new author will be there and signing books as well? -
Like Nied said those designs are not by Sukhoi, but an outside industrial designer, I have only seen a couple images released by Sukhoi that are mostly smoke and mirrors, but the plane is suppossed to make first flight this year so the design is built, just not revealed to the public. Hey Nied can you host that image here so I can see if it is the one I have seen before? So far the only "official" image that been released is of the aircraft under a camo net. Something else to keep in mind is that there is conjecture that Sukhoi is making that Pak-Fa in multiple configurations, ala the F-35, but to a greater extreme. Some of the images from more reliable sources I have seen show aircraft with a fairly common fuselage but different wing structures, some delta, some FSW, etc... Those images posted on Gizmodo almost go along with that.

I freaking knew it. I've had this theory for a while, but did not voice it, but here goes. The cast lists for the final episodes include Be interesting to see if something like that happens.

I've not seen it before, it is nice though. Hikaru's Flight suit looks like a combination of the DYRL, 2012, and 2036 designs, interesting, but mostly DYRL with the major features subdued.

Actually IIRC she only used the "baby pod" for launch, when she took Komiria into battle she was sitting on Millia's lap, or possibly behind her seat before the reveal, but definitely on her lap in the following battle.

aargh, can't see the pics on page two, what did I miss, please repost

I agree with Exo, for the price that is not enough parts/stuff. If it included the double seat (VF-1D), side covers, and some other bits, I would be more interested, maybe Max's tail fin missiles, a Mars base Misa rescue figure and hand, a pack of extra pilots to put into the seats, etc... Through out some more ideas folks. Ooh, clip on launched missiles for the Fast packs and pods, complete with smoke trails, have your valk firing off an Itano circus.

Man, a restored L-29 crashed about 3 miles away from my house on july-4, unfortunately the pilot and passenger augered in with it. http://www.tehachapinews.com/home/ViewPost/105426

That VF-1D Virgin Road is a nice surprise, I will definitely be tempted to get that one.

For any of you lusting after that skank Megan Fox (and I have no idea why, she is frigging nasty), check out the pictures of the Trans-2 Berlin premier, her dress leaves little to the imagination. -
huh, it cut out kind of abruptly at the end when Andrew was talking about the Macross PS2 game, wonder if that is emualted for the PC yet. We will miss you Andrew.

The book is now available through Smashwords in all of the most popular e-reader formats at a reduced price. Head on over and check it out. I will update the links on the website later tonight. -
At DH & Graham. Actually, the F-119, with the vector exhaust removed, could fit in the F-15's engine bays, but hooking them up would require major rework.

I love Haynes manuals, but that one is hard to swallow, let's face it Haynes manuals are so good because they dissamble the car to get all their information, somehow I doubt they did that with a LEM.
