Just watched the last shuttle landing at Edwards, truly the end of an era now. Tomorrow I will watch it leave on the last leg of it's journey...

I agree with what most of you are saying about the suit, it looks more like a suit of armor from Mass Effect than Robocop. But, I will reserve final judgement until we see production stills or video, they are probably going to go in in post and make some changes to the texture/color/etc... I also think they were probably trying to shy away from the look of the original and Iron Man based designs to try and create something more unique, unfortunately that gave us this design. Who knows this suit they are using here may even be a special effect specific suit for when he is changing his camo pattern or something. I am holding out hope, but not much after seeing this.

I live this thing, and wish LF would comission a series looking like this. The video with the music pongs seriously, the music does not fit, though the lady bomber pilot looked to be rocking out to something. @mommar: I did not see gundam cockpits, I saw just a variation on the movie cockpits with a bit of the game cockpits thrown in, which is fine by me, and what you mean the Bomber changed craft, she was flying the bomber the whole time. i think your beef there is that we see very little of the tie bomber in the movie, and the games tend to treat it as this slow underpowered mess, whereas the creators of this said, heck that whole other pod is nothing but missiles and bombs, let's give it some real hitting power, Itano Circus!!! That pilot is obviously the result of Roy's crossing over to the Star Wars Universe and nailing him some hot corrilian chick.

Now the important question, does the front open? Next question do you have a sticker to go in there showing a bunch of destroids ready to unleash hell?

Not a bad idea, but how do the wire stands hold up over time, any sagging?

I agree about the ankle pump, it was the wierdest feature there. In terms of design of robocop, the design itself is timeless and really when compared with modern robots not too far off in most respects (mechanically). But more than that, remember robocop is a dark satire so the robot was designed, in part, with that in mind. At least that pistion wasn't on the elbow like ceratin gold robot we all grew up with. And BTG yes, this is america, for many of us on here, but a little common courtesy is not too much to ask. If you have no interest in a topic don't go trolling the thread. If you don't like it it maybe just say that and go, don't keep coming back and poking everyone who does. Yes the internet allows for that kind of behaviour and boards have to plice themselves to stop those behaviours if they are unwanted but next time perhaps certain people should check themselves first.

If you don't like it then why are you trolling this thread?

Starship Troopers: Invasion - New SST Anime
Knight26 replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Watched it last night. In terms of the movie universe, not bad, probably even better than the first, and a damn sight better then the last two. I might even say it is better than roughnecks, but I would have to watch that again to be sure. Overall this is as close to the novel as an SST movie has come so far, with the inclusion of the powered armor, though I would have preferred something closer to the anime's design, the biggest failing of the design was the helmet, having it break into multiple pieces and slide away like that was just dumb, but was very hollywood, allowing the director to show the character's faces more easily. I did really like the call out to the novel at the beginning with Johnny saying the iconic openning lines of the book, very good job there. @RL1, please break that post back out, too many people confuse the book and movie, I know even I have sworn at times that the football game was in the book, I punish myself after that. In terms of the female anatomy debate, ice blonde was really the only one whose assetts were at all out of whack, but not overly so, and I have known women who are built like that, some naturally (though usually with a larger bandonk-a-donk) and others not so. But she was not as crazy as in some anime, the other women were pretty realistically built. The men really weren't all overbuffed either, only Ratzass was really buff and not obnoxiously so, not like James Vega in ME3.- 121 replies

Red Dawn Remake---Is nothing sacred???
Knight26 replied to derex3592's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This movie is such a bad idea. As cheesy and unbelievable as the original one was it worked because of cold war hysteria. This one has none of that, no one is worried about an invasion from China or North Korea, but at least China was slightly more plausible as at least they have an expiditionary warfare force, small as it may be. North Korea could never mount an invasion of the US, especially not on that scale. Heck if they were to remake it they should have left it as the Russians and just said that a militant russia party took over Russia and decided to forcibly expand. Heck a joint invasion by Canada and Mexico would be more probable than North Korea. -

Not bad, but there are other physical changes as well, especially to the cockpit and forward fuselage. -
Will try and get an update in this weekend, have to do some design clean up on this, and I am contemplating redoing the canopy before getting into the detail work. This is the only one that does not have the curving canopy, but I need to figure out the openning mechanism if I curve it. SHouldn't be too hard. Now, when I start in the detailing I plan to add a bunch of little bumps, blisters and little sensor units, this thing is a beast and has had its role change more than any other so lots of little add ons will be included. Of course then I need to start on the variants, which include the following: A Model: Standard Configuration: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 1x A/M Cannon, Missile Pod (26 missiles), 2x3 Light Torpedo Packs, Internal Bomb Bays, External Weapons Carriage B1 Model: Twin Cannon Configuration: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x A/M Cannon, 2x3 Light Torpedo Packs, External Weapons Carriage B2 Model: Gunboat: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x A/M Cannon, 2x Turretted Plaser Cannons, External Weapons Carriage C Model: Missileer: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x Missile Pod (26 missiles), 2x3 Light Torpedo Packs, 2x Internal Bomb Bays, External Weapons Carriage D1 Model: Light Torpedo Boat: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x3 Light Torpedo Packs, 2x6 Light Torpedo Packs, Internal Bomb Bays, External Weapons Carriage D2 Model: Heavy Torpedo Boat: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x Heavy Torpedo Mounts, 2x3 Light Torpedo Packs, External Weapons Carriage E Model: ECM/ELINT: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), Heavy Sensor and Jamming Pods External Weapons Carriage, 2 sensor/jammer operators behind main cockpit F Model: Armored Shuttle: 2x Plaser Cannons (nose mount), 2x Narfic Cannon (flex mounted), 2x Turretted Plaser Cannons, 2x4or5 Passenger Pods, 2 seats behind main cockpit G Model: Tanker: Unarmed, 2x fuel pods, 2x fuel mating pallets The Splicer 3000 Marker/Dragon (new name to TBD) is the workhorse of the fleet, stationed on nearly every carrier from light carriers all the way up to heavy fleet carriers. The various models exist in order to provide additional capability to lighter carriers that cannot afford the deck or personnal space to carry larger heavy bombers and dedicated support craft. Other subvarients exist but are not listed.

That is a damn pretty flyby, I used to love the freaking Viggen as a kid, thought it was so cool looking, like it came out of star wars

Finally had some time to update this beast after some serious computer problems. I attached the forward canards and added in the maneuvering thrusters. Next up I will start in on the detailing, finish the landing gear bays, and add the details back to the engines before starting to cut it up and start on the texturing.
