I'm a little unclear on the point of a totally standalone XM-8. I mean, in the OICW, the XM-8 was a development og the G36, why not just use G36s? On another note, I'm gonna buy another airsoft today. Just a cheap spring AK, but still, it's cool. I just need a weapon to go with my Soviet uniform. -
Seriously Messed up
Commander McBride replied to robokochan's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Just using my detective skills.... It looks like he was on MW on a computer in class, or in a computer lab, and left the computer unattended for some reason. As kids are apt to do, one came in, and noticing that it was still signed in, decided to post up the incoherent message we see here. -
Naw, that's pretty cool! It looks like, what was it, the X-31 with no tail?

Umm, I'm really curious to see what exactly is in the link that I gave to those who PMed me. Anyone who has the HentaiKey pass, can you put the pics in a zip or something and upload them to one of the IMacross servers? Would that be allowed by the servers? I'm shocked to see a link to E-hentai in the open here on MW! But....uhhh.... well.... check out the featured Doujin...... it's umm....really...umm... good, yeah.

Stooopid toy "blacklist" soccer mom poopoo!
Commander McBride replied to 91WhiskeyM6's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Actually, the custom parts aren't mandatory. You can leave your car as plain as you want. It's the performance parts that are important. Yeah, but I know that to really progress, ou have to get "Image Points" or something like that, which are gained only through styling mods. -

I refuse to play NFS:Underground. The game forces players to cover beautiful cars in hideous bodykits, useless wings, and ugly stickers, and I absolutely can't even stomach looking at them. Apparently, the game designers have never heard of a sleeper. -
There were series before Gundam with human enemies, mad scientists and the like. True, it was revolutionary in that it was the first to feature the Mecha as mass produced weapons, but that isn't the biggest impact it had, in my mind. I think the whole good/evil situation was the most influential part, and, while the others were important, imagine how long my post would have been if I'd gone into them...

-Note: may contain spoilers- While it can be said that First Gundam (AKA Gundam 0079 ) was still a member of the Super Robot genre, there are still many revolutionaty elements present in it. The most prominent, and most important, is the interaction between "Goodguys" and "Badguys". Before First Gundam, the "Goodguys" were always shining beacons of "good", and the "Badguys" were pure evil, from the evil leader, to the lowest minion. First Gundam changed all that. The Duchy of Zeon (later changed to the Principality of Zeon) was filled with honest soldiers, officers, and even leaders. Lt. Ranba Ral is a good example. He fought, not for a fanatical ideal, but simply because he was a soldier. He had no illusions about the interactions of the opposing forces. He even showed respect and chivalry to his enemies. He was a true soldier, who devoted his life to war, and likely would have been equally at home on either side. Another case in point is Garma Zabi. Garma was really a good person. He was more interested in his fiance than in the war. He even said that he'd desert the Zabi family for her. But fate, and "Char Aznable" interfered. Garma would have been horrified to find out what his death was turned into by his brother Ghiren. Which leads to Casval Rem Deikun himself, the infamous Char Aznable, the Red Comet. Casval/Char is something of an enigma. Even to the end, there were many questions about him. What we do know is that he was the son of one Zeon Zum Deikun, founder of what was to become the Duchy of Zeon, after his covert assassination by Degwin Sodo Zabi, scion of the Zabi family, and Deikun's trusted lieutenant. Casval/Char infiltrated the ranks of Zeon, and worked his way up to being one of the most respected and trusted officers of the Zeon military, working in direct contact with the Zabis himself. Char eventually killed them all off, those that didn't get killed by their own family, that is. However, Char showed no sigh of being on the UNT Spacy (Later EFSF) side. He relentlessly pursued the White Base, through space and Earth, and showed no mercy to them, or to any of the other enemies he faced. The image of his crimson Z'Gok, impaling a GM, and its pilot, is one that has been, and will be, burned into the conciousness of viewers for many years. As for the question of whose side he was on, the answer is no one. Char fought for his own goals and ideals. And in doing this, he actually becomes one of the most evil characters in the series, despite many viewers' heroification of him. Many more occasions exist in which minor characters of zeon are distinctly not evil. The group of soldiers, with their single Zaku, and their "flying motorcycles", from the episode "The Threat of Zeon", actually make the viewer sympathize with them, and even have the viewer hoping for their victory. It is actually somewhat disappointing when their attempt is defeated, but the viewer is still happy that the men all survive, and manage to save their lone Zaku. Then, we have the other side of the equation. We have the UNT forces. Many occasions exist in which soldiers harass, demean, and outright insult Amuro and the rest of the White Base crew. And the officers are even worse. The impression is given that the entire UNT is staffed by officers who only care about their personal gain and promotion. The very leadership is motivated by nothing more than their own greed and corruption. Many times, the White Base is impeded more by its own allies, and their red tape, than it is by their Zeonic enemies. That element is what makes First Gundam revolutionary. And that element became standard in series after it, to such a degree that we don't even notice. But the series that it made the most impact on, arguably, is nothing other then Chojiku Yosai Macross. It's been admitted many times that Gundam was hugely inspirational to the creators of Macross. It's arguable that Macross as we know it would never have existed without Gundam's infulence. It can even be said that, were it not for Gundam, we would be posting on Megaroad/Megaload World, and debating the advantages of the different Breast Fighters, from a series that parodied the Super Robot genre, and never caught on well enough to gain any of the sequels we know so well now.

Semi-OT, does anyone know if the US release of the Alternator Smokescreen is out yet? I've really been wanting one, but I'm not by any means a Transfan, I just like transforming things that turn into realistic vehicles. So the import version isn't worth it to me.

What, after the new Hentai section opens?

Umm, BTW, where can I get the series? I'm downloading it from Azora (I think. It's the link that was in the original thread), but they only have up to Ep. 10. Where can I find the rest?

I just sarted watching Fumoffu. So far, what I notice more than anything is the fact that it's much closer to the FMP! manga than the original series was. The student body president is one good example (unless he shows up later in the first series, I've only got the first 4 DVDs.) The whole locker incident was another. I'm downloading the 2nd and third eps now, and wondering when Tessa will show up...

Let me be another to reccomment Full Metal Panic. I'm up to the 3rd DVD< and loving it, I'm gonna go pick the 4th up today, I think.

I don't know, I just could never get into CS on any platform. Even without the cheaters, it's still just a glorified deathmatch, in most games. Plus, all the weapons that should be good suck, and the ones that should suck are the good ones. I guess it's because people pick eht RL good weapons too much, or something. I just ccan't stand empting an entire AK at point blank and not killing the S.O.B.

Damn you, where's my favorite valk? All hail the mighty MAXL Custom! No one can stand up to the might of the pink and white valk with boobs!

On the subject of Macross hentai, there's a site, long known for Gundam hentai, that now has added a bunch of Macross stuff. Unfortunately, it's all in a mirror of the site that you have to pay to access, due to bandwidth issues. So, if anyone has a HentaiKey account, or is willing to get one.... Is it OK if I post the link? I will if people want it, but I'm gonna make sure I can, before I do. If anyone really wants, it, there's always PM.....

Try Kato's model train buildings. They have tons of stuff, from N scale skyscrapers (pretty good for 1/144 scale kits) to HO scale train stations (good for 1/72 - 1/100 kits), all modern Japanese, perfect for mecha models.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time

I gotta go with Battlefield Earth. It's one of the worst films of all time. -
I don't think there has ever been a thread that confused me more thatn this one.....

Beyond 2000 was cool. If I remember correctly, near the end of its run, didn't it become beyond 3000, as 2000 wasn't a impressive number anymore? I remember one of the cooles things they showed was this this latex paint, that was painter on a car, and seemed just like normal paint, but was just peeled off in one big piece, leaving the original finish in perfect condition.

Apollo Leader on the Discovery Channel!

I just finished watching it. I saw you in it a couple times. -
Well, maybe it's time to move over to playing combat flight sims, instead of space sims. Lock On is about to be released, ya know...

Another new Gundam game?
Commander McBride replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is an old thread, I know, but I figured that I'd get yelled at for making a new one. Anyway.... I picked up the newest OPM today. Surprisingly enough, the reviewer, who was, by the way, clearly a gundam fan, HATED IT. He gave the game one star. And the one star was only because it was a gundam game. He said it played like a rail shooter, and was so easy, all you had to do was press the fire button as it locked on to enemies. This contrasts greatly with what i've heard about the game. So, what's the deal? Is it some bit of wierdness? or did bandai just destroy the came in the transfer to the US? Is there anyone with the US version who can shed some light on this situation? -

Well, I sort of have a gun now... I bought a cheap Spring UHC Heavyweight Airsoft M92 on sunday. Now, I just can't decide on what to get next... P226, Glock, USP, or 1911? -
Even if it's officially over.... It's Johnny Ridden. He chose the Unicorn emblem because it is symbolic of his feelings towards Kycillia Zabi. He chose the Gelgoog High Mobility type due to its unmatched power and mobility, and used the red and black color scheme in recognition of the fact that he never fit in anywhere.
