Really? I've used Testors Metallizer jet exhaust (airbrushed) several times on kits, and it came out really nice. I've also used the spray version of their gunmetal (I think) and it came out looking pretty good, with some polishing.

On a related note, how is the canopy on the 1/48 removed? I futured it a while ago, but I had to brush it on, and it came out good, but not as good as a dipped canopy.

Ohhhh, man, I'm just imagining that Geara Doga..... I also, of course, hope to see some normal Zakus. Most likely, they'll be F2s, because that's Ka.'s design, and these seem to be based on the F2, not the MS-06F like the original design. -

Those replicas are damned cool. I remember when my dad had an MP-5 in his desk for a few months (when he was Art Director on Air Force One) There is one, albiet semi-legal way to get 'em. Go to a prop store, and just make up some BS movie, (or, actually, you're Art Department, right? You actually could probably do it under the name of a real film.) and they'll sell 'em to you. As for the airsofts, the base spring guns are quite plasticy, but look very realistic. The gas blowbacks, especially the expensive ones, have as much metal as a real one, in some cases. The main importance of the gas bloback is semi-automatic fire. With a low end spring gun, the slide has to be cocked for every shot. A gas blowback is a repeating gun, and works just like a real one. -

They are. They're part of the upcoming FiX spin-off line, Zeonography, which is being created to showcase Katoki's designs that aren't Gundams. I expect to see some sort of EF line, too, for all his cool GM designs. On that note, though, those are the first pictures I've seen of the completed figures. All I'd seen were the early test shots and drawings. -
No, I figured it out. It's to cut power lines if the eva runs into them! They have things like that on helicopters....

IT CAN import regular Maya files. A commercial version of Maya won't be able to import PLE files though. Mine wouldn't. When I got PLE, it was included with a tutorial book, and stupilly enough, the tutorial files that were included were in normal Maya format, and wouldn't open in PLE. I suppose they could have changed that in a recent patch, though.

You know, there's always recasting.... J/K I hope they make more of these and drop the price, I like 'em, but not that much. -
Double post, dude. Anyway, that's the one I have, the one we're talking about.

Takara or Korean knock off?

I have a feeling there's a pic that's not working.... -
You know, I was thinking the same thing..... I doubt it, though.

Do they even make one in black? I've not seen one in this style. Black would look cool, too, really like a museum display.
-
I don't think so.... I bought mine at the Burbank one! When were you last there? Maybe they were temporarily out of stock or something. You were looking just past the stereo and TV cabinets? I prefer this style greatly. Not only does it present a better viev of your valks (and Mobile Suits, in my case ), it directs attention to them, whereas the bigger ones, with the big corners distract from the contents. The other ones also look like they belong in some country farmhouse or something, while the ones like I got look like a store or museum display, almost. They look much more "right" with figures inside them, I picture the other ones containing china, or classware, or little porcealin birds, or something..

AnimePlay Magazine
Commander McBride replied to Commander McBride's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I actually got mine at Barnes & Noble. You'll also find it, most likely, in Kinokuniya if you have one around. -
I actually like the look of the transformable Battroid. It really looks like it's TV series counterpart, what with those proportions and all.
-
Yeah, I'm gonna pick some turntables up myself. They have mirrored ones at my hobby shop, ranging fom like 12 bucks for maybe a 3 inch, up to like 25 for the larges, which must be 10 or 12 in. They'll be cool for a 1/48, and that's all that I care about!

IIRC, we recently were discussing Newtype USA, and the fact that it's nearing it's first year anniversary. Well, here's another anime magazine, the Bimonthly publication AnimePlay, from Hirameki Int'l. What do you guys think of this magazine? I got the first issue at AX, and just picked up the second yesterday. While the magazine itself is lacking content, the main focus of the publication is the included DVD, which itself contains articles, trailers, and documentaries, as well as other interesting items, like interviews and con reports. I'm liking this magazine. I especially like the fact that it's very hardcore, going into up-to-date news about current Japanese TV anime, and discussing things that even NTUSA is not likely to go into. Also interesting, it has an Animegio Macross trailer, which quotes MW! Oh, also, I'm in it. If you're wondering, i'm on the second page of AX interviews, in my Kira Yamato cosplay.

They do. They have a square light wood top and bottom piece, but the rest is all glass and two thin metal "ladders" that hold the shelves up and supports the structure. But it's glass all around. I know because I have mine about six feet away, and I only got it just over a month ago, and it was new, too, i'd never seen it there before.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

Hey, just curious, what did you dislike so much about Halo PC? I got it the other day, and I don't think it's bad at all. If anything, though, it's too easy. I've had the game for only two days, and I already go into packed servers and lead the match. I think that's a result of all my BF1942, though, which, for some reason, really hones FPS skills. As for MP2, how powerful of a PC does it require? I only have a Ti4200 and an Athlon 2500, i'm guessing that won't be up to par? I've got better comps, though. Maybe I'll go pick up a cheap copy of MP1, since I only rented it on XBOX and played a bit, and get through it, then pick up MP2... -
Well, here it is, confirmation of that GBP we saw in those storyboards. [itsuki] Kuuuuuuu!!!! [/itsuki]

YF-19 (VF-19) Vs. YF-21 (VF-21)
Commander McBride replied to one_one's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm not sure about the BDS. I think that it, in a way, would be much like fly-by-wire. "Makes an average pilot good, but an exceptional pilot average". I see too many flaws in the idea for it to really work. Number one, a pilot trained in traditional flying would have a lot of trouble adapting to the system. I also can imagine problems with needing to do things simultaneously. In a normal fighter, it's not hard at all to look to the side while remaining in control, like in combat. But with the BDS, the specific thought order has to be given to change view direction, while still also maintainiing control inputs. Overall, the BDS is not as good of a system as it's made out to be. While it can improve the skills of an average pilot, a veteran will only be hindered by it. -
Well, that's not completely true. When you move up to "real" Maya, Alias will convert all your PLE files to standard files. But they'll only do it the one time, and they're the only ones who can do it.
-
Meh, PLE is pretty useless, anyway. I've been learning on it, but its watermark totally ruins the image. The inability to import regular Maya files is also a huge problem.
